  1. hoebag, where to get signature and exclusive kits for 92-96?
  2. hey guys, what do you think of this wheel? Intensive - Trance I need a fast response beacause this auction ends really soon..so please hurry. thanks.
  3. i think the es300 in question is of gen1
  4. hoebag can you suggest some people to contact for kits from Japan?
  5. yeah i was wondering about that myself when i looked through the owners manual one day. seems like it shouldnt be too hard, but i havent tried doing it yet...cuz i havent needed to yet.
  6. i think that an oil filter is fine as long as it is the right size. Since the camry and es300 have the same engine, the oil filter will work the same for both. i usually get Fram brand oil filters.
  7. hey Brotherkain i'd love to see a write-up on this. if you could include any pics that would be even better, but seeing as you're all done with it, i wouldnt want you do open everything back up. i think whatever you can manage to post will be of great benefit to the whole community here at LOC.
  8. since we're on the subject of body kit materials...can i get some enlightenment on what different materials are out there? can someone give their opinion on them?
  9. first of all, if you're saying that valentine1 is to radar detectors as what lexus is to cars...i would have to disagree. alternative - n. - something which can be chosen instead (Merriam-Webster) so. here we have a choice, as consumers. we can either choose to buy the valentine1 for its various benefits OR we can choose to buy something else other than the valentine1. ITS A CHOICE. surely there are consequences to our choices(ex. performance, style, cost), but it's up to the consumer to choose which alternative is best suited for their individual situation. i think some of us have incorrect definitions of alternative; along the lines of something synonymous to equal to or same as. also...i very much doubt that hyundai owners say they own equivalents to lexus. also...it appears some of us need to learn how to use quotation marks jk
  10. from a short ram, you can expect an increase in throttle response (due to less piping and the open element filter) and a more agressive suction sound when u step on the gas(due to the absence of the air box). Beware that you might even experience worse performance b/c the open element filter might start sucking in warm engine bay air(not good). IMO theres no real hp gains with short ram, but an intake is pretty much one of everyone's first mods; so enjoy it. also, expect worse gas mileage b/c ur gonna be gassing it around town cuz u'll probably like the new sound.
  11. i use my emergency/hand brake every time i park. and even sometimes at a crazy long stop light when im tired(so i can take my foot off the brake). its just a precaution when parking to have the e-brake initiated. and i'm guessing it would help out your transmission when you put it in Park. also, since you only initiate the e-brake when you're car is already standing still, wear is so minimal that it's not even worth mentioning. If you're worried about the brake lines being stretched out, i'd suggest not jerking the e-brake up and instead just giving it a slow, smooth, firm tug. most of the time you wont need it to be at full braking strength; you just want to have good resistance to assist your tranny...just in case. ps. got this from driver's ed too.
  12. keep us informed on what happens. i've also heard about the stock system being a pain in the @$$
  13. maybe someone can do a write-up of this, since its a really common problem for ES300's. that way anytime a person asks what to do about the climate control/ radio lights we can just refer them to the write-up. think about it - you could be famous...on LOC :P
  14. is there any writing on the metal ends of the bulbs? it might have the part number on there. also, if you could take a picture of the bulb, it might help.
  15. nice write-up stevej, i think its gonna be really helpful for alot of people.
  16. can't find the ultinon hid kit on eBay, and suggested retailers?
  17. I'm not sure who adam1991 is trying to quote by saying "just as good" (I'm assuming me...) but the fact of the matter is that nobody said that... I guess I should say it again. Bel is just a suggested alternative(not a replacement) to the pricier(and needlessly said better) Valentine1. It does have adequate features and radar detection, though it may not be the best. It all depends on the degree of service the purchaser wants to receive from the product. Different people have different needs, values, and budgets. Thus, a wide range of products is available to consumers who don't need and/or can't readily afford the best of the best. (obviously unlike adam1991) Please don't get on my case about suggesting Bel radar detectors. I am just trying to help out the author of this thread by telling him/her what else is out there besides the Valentine1. I think its unfair to deem the Valentine1 as the one and only and everything else as not even worth your time and consideration. In the end it will be up to him/her to decide what's best, so if I can assist in helping this guy/girl to make the correct decision, then I think that I definately should. I thought this forum was a place for collective free thought. <_< *skippy*
  18. Sure, if you have the extra money, go for the Valetine1. I mean, why drive a lexus if you can afford a ferrari. right? there was no doubt all along that valentine1 was the best choice. but by spending less, you DO get the most from your money. And its just plain ignorant to think that by getting a Valentine1, you will be free of traffic cops forever. *skippy*
  19. Besides Valentine One and Escort, there is a more economical alternative, Bel-tronics aka Bel makes some very decent radar detectors for about 100 USD less than Escort. Hands down, Valentine One is the "best" radar detector out there. I put "best" in quotes because while the Valentine One might be the most sensitive, it also give off alot more false alarms because of its keen sensitivity. In my experience, many people who have bought radar detectors end up getting so fed up with the false alarms that they just turn it off and end up getting caught. I think the "best" radar detector really depends on the user's personality. Another thing to take into consideration is the location where you frequently drive. Alot of the false alarms occur in urban areas where there are alot of stray radio signals flying around. If you live in an area like that, you will definately want to get a detector that has a City mode. Which basically sets the detector to be less sensitive for when u pass though areas with high radar traffic. So, in conclusion, Bel-tronics is a more economical alternative to Escort and Valentine One and there are many factors that one should consider before purchasing what some vender deems the "best" radar detector(many of which are characteristics of the user) Why pay more for something thats not right for you... *skippy*
  20. it depends on your style of driving and the general condition of the roads you drive on. personally i would recommend changing shocks/struts at 70k.
  21. nice find, i love they give you alot of info...maybe you should try to do it yourself first =P and save the $99 + SH
  22. sure thing. well the link is correct guys, but it redirects you to the mail page. from the main page you want to look to the top right corner of the page where it says 'LOC Stickers' click that and ur golden B)
  23. Wow thanks for the link apoc519! Anyone know how to clear out the taillights on a 92-96 ES300? Or any other year ES300? Any contribution would be welcome. ~thanks
