  1. I painfully came up with a list of all Lexus Dealerships in the US. This post contains the original data in tab-delimited format. This POI is already uploaded into TomTom so you can grab the POIs from TomTom home. It has the addresses and GPS coordinates in this file in case you need either one or both for your own GPS device. Hope this is helpful to others. Lexus_Dealer_List.txt
  2. I just went to it today in Boston and it was pretty good. Theres two courses, performance and luxury. The luxury course was so much better since its much longer, a short slalom, and many S curves to test suspension. The performance has just one or two turns and a short slalom. The performance had the IS and GS while the luxury had the LS, ES, and RX i believe. There was no gift like other test drives, and only one "meal" per guest, but so far at this boston test drive, it was unlimited test drives. You can go back and forth between luxury and performance and just line up. They were a bit strict on switching drivers when you were done because the lines started to build (around 3-4 groups per car) but overall it was still pretty good. This is unlike the event in aug i believe posted on the my.IS forum where they had these digital cards that you carried around and had to digitially sign up and wait for each test drive. The luxury track was so much better, even if u were trying to blitz through the course. I highly recommend it and im sure i still have two invites for the boston event which is this weekend, but it might work for other locations as well. PM me if ur interested. Check it out at: tasteoflexus.com
  3. if the 335 price tag is for the 60k mile maintenance, then that seems about right since 60 is a major one (one every 15k miles, some are more "major" than others). For regular 5k mile service it should cost about 150-200. I just had my 30k done and it was about 300. They usually do a long list of things for these major service maintenance. If you think the price is too high, you can always shop around to other lexus dealers. even when i was trying to order my car cover, it differed from 290 to 340 dollars from different dealers. If you bought your lexus from a lexus dealer, ask them about this, and they might be able to drop the cost a little. mines did about the car cover and the trunk net.
  4. The obvious difference is the engine size. However, the numbers from both cars are pretty similar, except for the price which is about 10k higher on the 430. I've been reading a few articles that says that things come standard on the 430 thats not even offered on the 350. Is this true and does anyone have a list of these options? One of them is the "adjustable" suspension that has 3 or 4 modes, and also the suspension can improve handling.
  5. the stock sportdesign rims are pretty hot on a glossy black car. I have a stock glossy black sportdesign '04 IS and the rims look pretty good. Many people are surprised when i say that whole car is stock. The gray "titanium" color looks really good with black. Not sure if you want to replace the rear decals and front grill to match the color. The last step would be to get the "sportdesign" decal, but that might be a bit too far. attached is a pic of the car.
  6. it does; i was just hoping to find out the interior cabin temperature. i guess its pointless after about 15 minutes once the climate control kicks in.
  7. Is it possible to switch the compass on the rear view mirror to read the temperature, and also which temperature is it, outside or inside? I havent seen it in the owners manual and doubt you could, but the display seems to be able to support it.
  8. My bras by ventureshield and they said to NOT use that stuff since it will eat through the clear on the film (along with the flim too i think). Also bug remover windshield wiper fluid is bad too.
  9. One more piece of information for boston: The ferrari dealership near boston called me back since i left them a message, and they said it was done in house also by that company Autobahnd. Autobahnd only does cars through other dealerships. After i got that call (a few days after i got done by dave), im thinking it might've been better to get it done by Autobahnd since even lambo and ferrari dealerships get it done by them. Ferrari's service manager also said they have dealt with them for a few years with great results. Hope this helps anyone else considering it.
  10. I just got it done after some research. First, i would suggest calling the nice car dealers around you, like lexus, bmw, porsche, ferrari, lambo, etc and see who/which company they use. You can do the same if your interested in tints. I would go for their service dept since they would know. Sometimes the person on the phone dont know, but they usually ask one of their service people and i always got a nice reply on who they use. Anyway, in boston proper, i got it done by Dave from Protective Solutions. His phone number is 781-248-9424 and he uses Ventureshield. I read on another forum who had a lambo that also had him do it too. It came out pretty good so far. He only deals in cash, but theres a written warranty and receipt so it seems pretty legit. He seems to be freelance, but can work in different dealer garages. mines was done at the BMW dealership on Comm. Ave right in Boston. I called the BMW dealership (where i got it done) and also the mercedes dealership in somerville and both referred me to the same name and phone number. It was done in about an hour, which is pretty quick. It was 500 for the front bumper (doesnt cover the side edges of the bumper), the front few inches of the fender, and about 18" of the hood. it was 35 extra for the headlights, and they cant do the fog lights since they say it gets too hot. It seemed to be computer cut and not cut on the car since there are many round curves on the plastic so that it can conform to the surface of the bumper. It should be just precut stickers and stuck onto the car. If your slightly north of boston, theres one other place in Danvers that was recommended by the infiniti, lexus and the lambo dealer in the area (lambo dealer was located in Peabody, while the rest are in danvers). All these dealers are located in Route 114 within a few miles of each other. Its called Autobahnd (http://www.autobahndnorth.com/) but they only seem to take orders from dealers (by leaving them a voice message) so it should be a bit more expensive. I heard they use 3M. It is located behind the infiniti dealership from what i have heard. I believe the Autobahnd people go to different dealers to do the car bra so it wont be driven offsite to be done. I believe they said it only takes about 2 hours or so, so it should be pretty quick. I also called Wheel Dynamix and they quoted me for 600 for bumper, fender and hood, while the headlights are 100 extra. They also said it takes about 4-5 hours and it would be a pain for me to commute there to and fro twice. Hope this helps everyone else who was considering it. As everyone else said, its really only noticeable at certain angles, primarily behind the bra line and near the car. If you're in front of the car its almost impossible to see the line. It doesnt even affect the reflection off the hood, if its properly detailed before the installation.
  11. Has anyone have a clearbra installed in the Boston Area or know of a good installer? Trying to get it applied before i head down to NY sometime in november. I've seen the 3M site but not quite sure if they are any good, or if there are better ones in the area. any advice appreciated!
  12. it depends on your budget. If its hoving around 10k, you can get a 01' or 02' for around that. Im currently looking for one myself, but a '04 or '05. A '04 or '05 w/ about 40k miles should be about $20k. It seems from the jd power reviews that the 04' is a bit better in reliability than the previous years. Since its a 3 year reliability review, the one for the '05 didnt come out yet. Also, i believe the '04 was the first year to have an arm rest in the center and also a retractable lid in center dash. Heres a list of most of the changes from year to year. http://my.is/forums/f52/2001-2005-is300-de...es-list-228212/ There is a decent review of the '04 IS300 (http://www.internetautoguide.com/reviews/45-int/luxury-cars/lexus/is300/2004/index.html). Heres the list of options. Not sure if thats all of them. A Leather Package ($2,465 for the sedan, $2,505 for the SportCross) includes leather trim, eight-way driver and passenger power seats, driver's-seat memory, and a programmable garage door opener. A similar package is available trimmed in leather and alcantara ($2,065 and $2,105). Heated front seats ($440) can be added to either package. We recommend the optional limited-slip differential ($390) to driving enthusiasts for improved traction when accelerating out of corners. We also recommend Vehicle Skid Control ($350) for models with automatics. A navigation system ($2,000) is also available. I did hear about the sat nav being annoying and the fact that it does not come with a touch screen. Theres someone who put an alpine touch screen in the center dash - www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IluSXPOKIU. The '01s are pretty readily available while the later years ('04 and '05) are a bit harder to find. Here in the northeast, i have not seen anyone selling the '04 or '05 privately while in LA (on craigslist) i've seen a few just in the last week. The '08s just came out so people might be swaping out their rides. Havent seen that effect here yet but hoping to find a good deal.
  13. sorry, but i forgot to list the mileage. Its only 21.5k miles on it and its an automatic.
  14. Can someone w/ a 30 day carfax get me the report for: JTHBD192240092272 Also, what do people think about this CPO 2004 IS300? It drove pretty well, the interior seems to be in good condition, i do NOT believe it is a leather interior, but it has a 3 yr/100k mile Lexus warranty. Asking price is $24.5k but the salesman said he could knock off 1500, so i might be able to squeeze off $2500.
