  1. brake caliper bolt torque

  2. Got my notice in the mail last week. Limited Service Campaign (LSC) 9LH. For RX 350s with the V6(2GR-FE) engine with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-1) oil hose replacement. Good until March 31, 2013. Thanks for the info! Appreciate it! :)
  3. Got a call from my Lexus dealer yesterday saying there is a recall for replacement of an oil line on my 2008 RX350. They said it should only take about an hour to do. Anyone else hear of this? Haven't made an appointment yet, but was wondering what the problem is.
  4. I said "occasionally" if it doesn't catch up, I'll pull over and wait a minute. Most times it will catch up. The thing is, the faster you're moving, the longer it takes to catch up. If you're entering a destination while you're moving, the screen will usually "grey out" for a few seconds and then come back on to let you continue entering information. That's the GPS adjusting to where you are. It's when it doesn't grey out that the GPS will lose you, and take some time to catch up. That's how mine works. :)
  5. I know what you mean! It is very quiet. Maybe we are getting a bit challenged in the hearing department. Sometimes my Wife tells me to turn off the directional cause I don't hear it. One of these days I'm going to find that flasher unit and see what I can do. It must be buried in sound deadening material! Can't be my ears! Ha Ha!
  6. Same thing happens to me. Yes....the speed sensor is disabled while you're entering information, so the GPS sometimes gets lost. It usually "finds itself" after a while, but sometimes it takes quite a while. A drawback for sure. Occasionally, mine takes so long, I just stop somewhere and wait a minute or two for it to catch up. Bummer!
  7. I have an 08 RX. There is a "Safety" function on the door windows that will reverse the automatic close, if there is something (like a hand or finger etc.) in the way. I have installed the Weather-tech rain deflectors on both the front drivers and front passenger windows. They are the not the "stick on" type. They slip into the window channel. The Passenger side will close OK, but the Drivers side will reverse when almost fully closed because of the rain deflector. The only way I can get the window to close all the way is by holding the "up" button, and not using the auto-up feature. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment on the window motor that will allow me to increase the closing pressure before the reverse feature activates? I know I can take it to the Dealer, but I trust myself more! Thanks!!
  8. Did you check the spare tire? I believe it is also monitored.
  9. Thank You ZZ4, Bill How was the Install? The Nav override is a simple plug and play. The Nav unit is under the rear cargo area floor, next to the plastic Jack, Lug wrench, etc. tray. The unit for the Phone and Audio is also plug and play, but the radio and Nav screen have to be removed to get at the wires. Again, not really difficult, but more involved than just the Nav override.
  10. I have an 08 RX 350, and this worked for me. I bought the Lockpick 3. Their e-mail reponse is usually slow to non-existant, so I found calling to be the best way to contact them. http://www.coastaletech.com/lockpick3.htm
  11. Do yourself a favor and call them. Their response to e-mail is terrible!! Ph: (800)507-2234
  12. Does anyone know how to adjust the parking brake on an RX350? Or...does anyone have access to the TIS that they could post the procedure here? Thanks!!
  13. I used this method on my 08 RX350 with success. (a) Driver and front passenger side seat belt buzzers (1) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. (2) Press the ODO/TRIP switch until the odometer displays "ODO". (3) Turn the ignition switch off. (4) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. (5) Press the ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more. (6) Continue holding down the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the driver side seat belt. (7) Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-oFF". (8) Press the ODO/TRIP switch to change the display to "b-oFF". (9) Turn the ignition switch off.
  14. No....no rear DVD. Give them a call and see if it will work with a rear DVD. 1800-507-2234. They are located in Florida.
  15. Just in case anyone's interested, I re-read the instructions (always helps) and the Ultimate Lockpick adds a DVD function to the radio. So I just have to push the "Disc" button until it says DVD, and the MP3 player plays through the DVD audio. The MP3 player can also be heard on the XM radio mode, but if the MP3 player is left plugged in, but turned off, the XM plays just fine.
  16. I just installed the $299 Ultimate Lock pick 3. Works like a charm. It also comes with audio cables that plug into the back of the radio for using an MP3 player. When the MP3 player is plugged in, it overrides the XM radio. If I have the volume up pretty loud, I can just hear the XM radio in the background. Instructions say if there is already a CD player, or XM radio (I have both) "you may wish use an Audio Isolator." so the sound of the MP3 player and the XM radio aren't heard at the same time. Does anyone know what an Audio Isolator is, and where it can be purchased? Other than that, everything works great...............Don
  17. I have an 08 RX 350. I would think the Bluetooth system is the same. I push the Talk button, "She" says, "Please say a command" I say "Dial by Name" "She" says something about the screen or the phonebook updating, and then asks for the name. You have to say the name exactly as you have it in your phone book. Hope this helps!.............Don
  18. AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System) The AFS moves the low beam headlights slightly right or left in concert with turning the steering wheel. This system starts to operate when the vehicle is moving 19 MPH or more. Really only noticable at night on a dark curvy road. You can turn off this feature by pushing in the AFS OFF switch. "The AFS continues operation as long as vehicle speed is kept above 6 km/h (3.6 mph) when operation has started once after vehicle speed reaches 30 km/h (19 mph) or more. The AFS continues operation as long as steering angle is kept at 10° or more when operation has started once after steering angle reaches 12° or more."
  19. Ken, Thanks for the info. I just want to be able to use the Audio screen for MP3 CD's . That way I can pick out the folder I want to hear. I'll order the Basic LP3 and see how it goes. It sure will be nice to be able to enter a destination, or an additional destination without having to stop the car. Again.....thanks for all the information!...............Don
  20. Ken, (RXin ATL) Still happy with the LockPick? You mentioned that you thought the speed sensor wire for the Audio and Bluetooth seemed to be permanently disconnectable. Can you tell me which wire that is? Color of the wire? Or do you think the super duper lock pick that works the Nav and the audio / bluetooth is the way to go? Thanks!! ..........Don
  21. This Navigation topic seems to be THE biggest concern about the Newer RX's. I just glanced at the number of "views" it has, and it has been viewed more than any other topic by far. Interesting!
  22. NO, you don't want to disconnect it completely. The nav would not track if you did. From what I have gathered - there are 2 speed sensing wires - one to the nav and one to the radio. The radio one appears to be permanenly dis-connectable and would allow telephone dialing and viewing of the cd folders and display of the FM radio text while in motion. The second is to the nav and is the one that is eliminated by the lp3. If this was permanently disconnected the nav would not be able to track properly and this is why when the lp3 (electronically) disconnects the speed sense wire it loses it's place on the map. I don't think it pulses it as I never lose my speed signal while driving - only when I have the lp3 engaged. -Ken Ken, Very interesting. So if you knew exactly which wire was the speed sensor wire for the Navigation, it seems to me you could cut it and wire in a toggle switch to allow you to enter new destinations, and then flip the switch back on. I wonder if the wiring schematic would show which wire it is. What a pain! I think soon we're going to "safety" ourselves to death!! Ha Ha!..............Don
