  1. Forget the cable's, just remove the EFI fuse from the fuse block for a minute and pump the brakes. Try searching this forum and the UK GS300 forum, as this has been covered before. It really makes a difference.
  2. Hey Turbo-Are those upgraded brakes you have or did you paint your calipers? I need to give mine a shot of something-now that they are visisble.
  3. I agree with this guy^^^^. The ride was important as well as the performance for me. Quiet tires that grip are a premium when you add size to your rims. You cannot get too many "cushy" grand touring tires in performance aspect ratios. Also, weight of the rim will affect ride and suspension performance. I went for plus sizes in the Supra fitment for performance, but lighter weight cast wheels and quiet/performance tires. You have to research it all then make a choice and hope for the best. For what its worth, I've owned BFG, Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, Precept, and now Falken, and they all had trade-offs. Ever wonder how one person reviews a tire and thinks it great, and another thinks it sucks? Different tastes and different expectations. B)
  4. Hi Team3-I have a file there (LOC file size limits the picture quality and size). I am attaching another here. I will post more to the garage when I get a chance. Accessing the Garage has been blocked lately for some reason. I have a note into the admin for the site on it. Check out my avatar as well for a look at the wheels.
  5. I finally got the new wheels and tires on. I went with the 5Zigen FN01RC in bronze. 18x8.5 in front running 245/40 and 18x9.5 in rear running 275/35. Tires are Falken Azenis ST 115. All I can say is wow! and the bronze look on Royal Jade green car works like I had hoped. I just added a set of chrome Lexus 2.5" factory center caps and its perfect with the chrome locking lug nuts. Thanks for all input over the weeks here folks!
  6. Can you put the Iridium's in a 93 GS 300? Will they make much difference?
  7. I seem to recall previous links on this, and some later models have a filter you can change. Do a search or maybe someone more knowledgable than I will recall this issue.
  8. Try Meguir's Mirror Glaze Cleaner, Polish, and Detailer. The stuff worked wonders on my headlight plastic. I mean really nice like new. Also, you can use a buffer with the polish (or use polish compound like from a body shop).
  9. You can certainly I change the bulbs out. To change their color to amber, you would need either an amber colored bulb or an amber colored lense. I am not sure if later model GS yellow lenses switch out with gen I lenses. If they do, you need to source the lense then. Any ideas out there?
  10. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...&CODE=12&CID=40 I have a K&N filter mounted in the stcck air box, but I got another air housing from a salvage yard and cut away the enclosure to create a more open element. I kept the stock air feed from the front grille. See the link above in the garage for a picture. It works pretty well as the stock K&N is a 10" filter (large surface area). Others here have used the Injen and Blitz with good results (search threads to find more). Good Luck! -Leo
  11. This issue is so well know for the GS's, I cannot believe the dealers still act as if there is no cure and say "that's normal." Everytime you do a mod to the engine/exhaust, etc. the ECU needs to be reset (or so it seems). <_<
  12. Have you tried another set of wheels/tires on your car? If it still vibrates, then its your suspension or driveline. If not, its your wheels and/or tires. Change tires on your wheels and see. I am betting wheels. Many put there are not round. Also, not all shops balance the same. Use lifetime computer spin balancing and not at Lexus. I had this problem on another car and it was the wheels AND a badly warped brake drum. Check your brake calipers/hub as well. -Leo
  13. Some replacement lights are just "whiter light" color and use a bit more wattage. I have the upgrade lights from Sylvania that are 4000k colored, and only run +10W more than stock (max). They are great lights and when aimed correctly are no more obnoxious than stock or HID (which normally are installed with level adjusters and are capable of of much sharper beam focus. They don't seem to be hotter or more likely to melt wires, etc. 9005 65 W 1700 Lumens HiBeams 9006 55W 1100 Lumens LoBeams H3 55W 1310 Lumens Fog/Driving If you run 100W lights, off road lights, etc. then you could be victim of overheating and blinding other drivers. I have no problems with mine and I've had them in over a year and half now.
  14. I just did the replacement on my 93 GS300. Get the stock replacement antenna off of Ebay (do a search) about $20. Follow the instructions and your done if 10 minutes. If the plastic internal cord is broken, like mine was, you have to do a bit more work to remove the broken part from the motor case, then reinstall. That took about and hour to complete. Now it works great! Don't go rubber. It looks ok, but does not retract and gets bumped crooked all the time. ;) P.S. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33639
  15. Hey Turbo-I had the local shop I use clean it a bit when they did the 90k service. That looks like a Blitz LM intake there? How is it? I modified my stock air intake so the filter is exposed. I run a K&N filter in it. Pix are in the garage. I am still in the market for an exhaust. Not much to choose from for the early GS's though. I may just get some mufflers and have a shop weld them in for me. -Leo
  16. Damn...I have the same thing only no where near as bad (on the driver's side, right?). I was going to use this glue/clear sealant I used in other cars called Weld. I was going to rough up the backside with a dremel, apply a little Weld, and clamp it over night. I figured I'd unhook the battery so the lights won't stay on (since the door would be open while the clamp is in place. I never considered letting Lexus guys spend $$$ to fix it. I don't even know how it happenned, just appeared one day a few months ago. After reading the posts, maybe someone tried to break in?

  18. For what its worth, the stock alloy wheel on my GS300 is 7.5" wide. Using 8 or 8.5 is better for a 17 or 18" wheel. The 18x8.5 running 245/40-18 front and 18x9,9.5, or 10" rear (depending on offset) can run 275/35-18 and it should be perfect with minimal MPH variance (approx 1-2mph).
  19. My experience is you can never tell until they are on the car with some schweet tires to go with them. Hey Turbo, are those Moda R6 wheels on your car? Whatever they are, how do you like them?
  20. I have the ContiExtremeContacts on my GS300 now and they provide good grip, especially in the wet, but ride rougher than the Pirelli's P6000 Sport Veloce I had on before and are a bit noisier. They occasionally hunt/track some of the grooves on concrete highways, which the Pirelli never did. Overall, they are a grippy tire and give super rain traction and are snow rated, so if that is a priority they might be a good choice. If smoother ride is more important, consider the Pirelli or Michelin instead. Also, the Conti's were a good bargain for a high performance all-season tire.
  21. THe screws are a couple inches long sticking out, and they have a nut shape head that you can put a small wrench on. That is how I've adjusted them. Just the lights on facing a garage door, and turn the lights until they are the level you want.
  22. How is the car going with the new intake? Any chance of getting pic posted? Here is a pic of my modified stock box with a K&N filter. I seems to work pretty well. -Leo
  23. If you like'em I like'em! I have to say I see a lot of silver wheels-would gunmetal or hyperblack work?
  24. Just spray a little slick 50 or silicon lubricant in the ball socket that holds the spacer and it'll pop on and off w/o any trouble. ;)
  25. I have used the Lexol products and they work as advertized. My GS300 is almost 11 year old and been thru two kids and it looks pretty good. Some aging/wear is normal, but you can get much of the softness and color back. Also, try it on the arm rests, ignition area, center console, etc. (my driver side looked awful, and the lexol and some elbow grease made it look new again). :D
