autozone told me a 92 is too old for their OBD

the check engine light goes on and off, it never stays on for more than a few seconds, and it usually goes on when im cruising at a steady highway speed. i thought that might be from the intake. Where is the IAC located i havent ordered my book yet, im thinking is near the trottle body but with this car who knows??? are there any good sites out there that describe or show in detail where these parts are located in the engine compartment.??? how about the tps??? Any help someone can give im greatfull. This car has sucked the life out of my pockets!! But i still love her!

no turning the hazards off and on didnt work but i did notice that the bulbs in the front of the car are out of the housings and on the driver side there are 2 thin wires that are cut. i havent had a chance to locate where the other end is. when i turn the hazards on the rear ones work just not the front. im gonna change the bulbs in the front and locate where that wire is supposed to go.

92 sc400. If the car sits for more than a day, usually when i start it, the idle is much higher than normal and it jumps around as well. Also when this idle is high and i put it into drive or reverse it does drop down to about a steady 1000 to 1100 rpms but thats still abnormaly high. WHen pulling away out of a stop I DO NOT HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS, the car accelerates slowly and progressively on its own. When stopping i have to press the brake harder than usual because of the fact that the car wants to "GO" on its own. Does anyone have an cause of this and what to do to fix it. I dont have the money to play the process of elimination game with this car anymore, so im hoping that someone knows exactly what the prob is...? I appreciate your feedback.

92 sc400, getting nothing when i try the turn signals. where is the fuse panel inside the car? What else might it be if its not the fuse? Relay...? where is that located??

92 sc400, obviously when you first start a cool or cold car the idle is higher than normal opperating temps. After my SC is warm and i come to a stop it seems to be idling just under 1000. Anyone know what i can do or whats causing this???

ill try it out next time it happens, which will probebly happen tomorrow. Do you think this has something to do with me swapping the interior?? It wasnt happening before i did that....

92 sc400, when driving between speeds 40 to 60 mph and letting off the gas there is a slight jerk, when applying gas there is another thump. Constent pressure on the accelerator and it doesnt happen. As soon as you let off the gas... its getting to be annoying. Under 40 and over 60 no problems. There's a thread on here that I thought sounded like my issue, it was told to change the spark plugs, wires, dist. caps and rotors. I did that but the problem is still there. Can it be the coils??Took the car to my mechanic and he's saying there is too much play in the differential. I saw that there is a hair-line crack near one of the bolts where the drive shaft meets the rear. Can it be the tranny?? I dont think its the trans because if you progressively apply pressure to the gas pedal car runs without problems. Can anyone add some insight??????? I have another 93 sc400 sitting in my garage, but i dont want to swap rears unless im confident thats gonna solve the problem..

its weird, today i took the car out 3 times, the first time the key didnt want to come out, the last 2 times it came out with no problem. Im not sure if wiggling the shifter will make a difference when it was happening to me yesterday i tryed everything but nothing worked except disconecting the negative batt. cable....

I just swapped most of the interior, including the console on my 92 sc400 and now the key wont turn to the off position unless i take off the negative batt. cable. The weird thing is that after this happened the first time i went the the gas station, put the car in park, and the key came out No Problem... Went back home, the key wouldnt come out. All the plugs are connected near the shifter. What the heck is going on.....?

ive got a 93 sc400 with traction control smashed sitting in my garage. I just bought a 92 sc400 without traction control. My question is, what exactly would have to be changed between the 2 engines in order for the trac engine to work in the sc without trac??

I just got a quote from a local mechanic to replace the rack bushings and do alighnment for $175 bushings included. Fair price????

Do i have to search through every thread....? Is there any way you can locate it for me and let me know. I know Iknow im being a pain in the !Removed!.
