  1. Funny you mention that because the reason why I want to buy a new metal cylinder is because I want to sell it. There's no way I'd want to sell this to someone knowing it wasn't going to work without the tiny little piece that I lost. Shame on that Craiglist'er. Would you mind seeing if your contact can get one more metal cylinder for me? Because going to a machine shop will cost significantly more than that I'm guessing. And I agree I wouldn't want to find a 'similar' piece because I don't want to know what might happen if it goes loose and rips off going 80mph on the expressway. I'll tell you, I didn't like the Lexus Ski Rack so much that after using it only once I went out and I bought two more ski racks from Thule (which I only used twice and am planning to sell also). In total I spent about $600 on the 3 ski racks. They're all good, but I like to carry up to 4 boards and each of those ski racks only carry 2 (the two Thule ones can be coupled together to hold 4).
  2. Thank you very much. I sent him a message, hopefully he found an easy way to get it. And thanks for the suggestion on the metal shop. I'll try that as well.
  3. I lost a piece of my Ski Adapter and my Lexus dealership said they can't replace the piece that fell off (looks like a small metal cylinder that you place a screw through). They told me I needed to buy a brand new Ski Adapter. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the Lexus ski adapter, I'm going to try to see if I can get that part on my own so I don't have to purchase a new one.
  4. There are two adjustable crossbars on the roof. On either ends of the crossbars there is a lever that can be pulled to "release" the crossbar from it's hole allowing you to move it forwards and backwards into a different hole along the rails. The front crossbar locks all the way into the very first hole (towards the front of the car). However the rear crossbar doesn't seem to lock into the very last hole (rear of the car). Is this even a problem or is the rear crossbar not supposed to lock into the very edge. I might need to take pictures to describe what I mean.
  5. This is incredibly useful. I have a question for everyone. I don't ever use voice commands though because it makes you wait before the beep. I'd prefer it to just beep after I push the voice command button the steering wheel but it asks everytime "Please say your command after the beep" *short but annoying pause* BEEP.
  6. fbsdmd, Turn up the radio? HAHAHA. That's the best reply I've read all day. It's funny, because it's true. SLW, I hear a rattling/knocking noise when starting my car although I don't remember hearing it when I bought it brand new, but the noises appeared soon (within the first 5 to 10,000 miles of driving). Also, not sure if this helps but the noise seems to have lessened after bringing it in for my 5,000 service. As I type this my car is at the dealership getting a 15,000 mile service. *Edit I should add that like the other replies on this post, the noise seems to go away after driving around for a while.
  7. How do you remove the DVD? It doesn't say in the owner's manual. *Edit, please disregard, I read another post that said it was in the trunk.
  8. Thanks guys, I just placed an order for two Thule 575 Snowboard Carriers from Amazon: Per Unit $107.10 Sub-Total $214.20 (Quantity: 2) Shipping & Handling $11.16 Total Before Tax $225.36 Estimated Tax $18.84 Grand Total: $244.20 I'm going to attach both to my roof. Now, I need to sell my Lexus Snowboard Rack and Adapter. Used only once, what a waste of money.
  9. I recently purchased the Lexus snowboard rack for my RX350 in a rush for the car but will probably get rid of it because it only holds two snowboards. I'm looking for a snowboard rack that holds four snowboards. I was looking at Thule's: 1. 91726 - Universal PullTop 6 http://www.thuleracks.com/product.asp?dept...4&sku=91726 2. 91725 - Universal FlatTop 6 http://www.thuleracks.com/product.asp?dept...4&sku=91725 3. 575 - Snowboard Carrier http://www.thuleracks.com/product.asp?dept_id=24&sku=575 I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what to get? Taking into account which rack is easiest to add/remove as my garage isn't tall enough to fit the rack. What I'm worried about is how the hell anyone can fit four snowboards into a flattop? Thule says it can fit four, but I don't believe it and I can't find any pictures demonstrating this. Also, what's the difference between the pull top and the flat top? And how easy is the 575 to mount/dismount? Etc etc. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I should also add that I know the 575 only holds two snowboards but it looks like you can buy two of those and mount both onto the RX350. I haven't checked yet if there is room but if anyone knows this, let me know.
  10. Has anyone noticed that there's no way to sort through your saved addresses in the navigation? I've had the car for about six months now but I didn't take notice until recently because when you have a short list of saved locations, you don't really need to sort the list. Now imagine you have 50+ locations saved. You can't hit a letter and have the list begin to display locations that begin with that letter. You have to scroll down page by page, entry by entry until you find what you're looking for.
  11. How would you guys feel if Lexus had put on turn signal lights onto the side-view mirrors? You'd always know then. Do you think it would ruin the 'look and feel' of the car?
  12. I haven't really heard too many complaints but: I like the Lexus Nav system very much. Only complaint I have is that it locks when you drive faster than 5mph.
  13. I can tell you right now, unless you're married to your iPod, you can fit quite a few songs on 6 CD-RWs. Plus I'd rather be able to use the steering wheel controls for the car's cd player rather than fiddle around with the iPod while driving. I use CD-RWs because I change my playlist at least once a week. It's quick! Trust me. PS - I've learned that the CD-RW will skip in the Lexus player sometimes if you burn it "track at once". I burn all my MP3s for the car using the "disc at once" method. No skips this way. I don't know what the reason is but it seems to work.
  14. Thanks. Looks like I'll stick with the 15-20% range, seems to be the best match. Mine looks darker than that because I have a black interior. I don't think too many RX owners tint their front windows, barely found any posts for it here, or on Google.
  15. Would anyone have any recommendations for tinting the front windows on the RX 350 to match the factory tints in the rear windows? Another poster here had went with Llumar Formula 1 Comfort series 15% as the closest match he was able to find but was wondering if anyone else had come even closer since then? Looking at the rear windows, they look a lot darker than 15%.
