  1. I just went outside and the engine codes are 25 and 26. This is a lean and rich air-fuel ratio malfunction respectively.
  2. I know to pull on the lip of the cap haha, but thank you. The cap just wouldn't open. I have only ever had one CEL and it went away the same day. I haven't been able to take another crack at getting something to stick on the diagnostic ports because I had to study for SAT Subject Tests, but now that they are done I will take another look. Tires are properly inflated by the way. I never use my parking brake, so yeah it must be related to ignition or fouled sensors. Would ignition components to replace include wires or no? I know caps and rotors are a biggie.
  3. Ok so I tried the diagnostic port on the driver's side with a piece of wire, but couldn't get the wire to stay in place... Then I tried to use the connectors in the engine bay, but for the life of me could not get the cap off to actually get to the connectors. I will back to you on codes and whatnot when I find a suitable paperclip or a way to open the cap.
  4. I have a 1994 LS400 and I'm pretty sure I need to replace the idle air control valve because it smokes on startup. I used to get about 12 mpg on regular gas (rarely ever used) and almost 17 on premium 91 octane. I just did a muffler delete and now the smoke is more pronounced and mpg have quickly dropped to 9 and just recently, 6. Any help?
  5. spinners on Ls = spinach stuck in your sparkling white teeth
  6. I live in North Carolina drive about two miles to and from, in city driving and am getting 9-12 mpg. I was getting 12mpg with a horrendously dirty air filter, changed it, and now I'm getting 9 mpg. Is there a problem? I don't have a lead foot, or at least I don't think so.
  7. I was looking at one of those chips on ebay that supposedly add a few horsepower. there was one called the juicebox and the other one is not named. I know all it does is alter the signals coming from the air intake sensor and nothing else, but the unnamed one is $6 and the juicebox is $24. I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with these because they are pretty cheap and I thought I would satisfy my curiosity.
  8. Do a search on this forum and you should be able to find a lot on this. Also look in LEXLS.COM. good luck. That's for the power steering pump, this is for the actual rack itself.
  9. Hey. I just bought a 1994 Ls400 and when I took it to get it checked out by my mechanic he found a leak in the rack. I was looking around for a rack seal kit and found one from pskits.com and I was wondering if anyone had bought from them before and if the difficulty of the seal rebuild on a scale of say 1-10, 1 being easy and 10 being hard. Thanks in advance.
