  1. Hello co owners of a Lexus RX-350. Let me explain. I had a problem with my sunroof, plastic cables brooken. Took the complete sunroof out. Installed the two new platic cables. But I would like to bench test the sunroof before I install it back. At the motor is a plug. With pins do need 12 Volt to activate the motor ?. Hope you guys can help. Regards. Andy.
  2. I hope somebody can help, I own for many many years a RX - 300 1999, but at this moment it is running on 5 cylinders ( missing one ) I am getting three OBD II codes : P 0305, P 1300 and P 1320. According to this information Cylinder # 5 is not working. I changed already the position of the coils packs, sparkplugs and cleaned all injectors. I did a compression and leakdown test, all looks good. I did check all voltages / grounds and puls signals at the coils ( backprobed ) with a oscilloscoop, all looks good and mesurement are all the same ( between the 6 coil packs ). I have no idea, who can help !!
  3. We have a simular problem, we own for many years a RX300 ( year 2000 ), 2WD. Last month the check engine light came on, we own a universal garage so I connected a OBDII scan tool and found code 0171 ( bank 1 lean ) My first thought was : probably a bad oxygen sensor, but I connected a Elmscan interface to my laptop and all voltage readings seemed to be correct. I did reset the OBDII code 0171 and test drove again the car with scantool connected, at that moment the overdrive was working, after a mile the check engine light came on and after 10 seconds the overdrive was gone. I did read the OBDII scantool and again the same 0171. I decided to reset this code again, continued my testdriving and yes at that moment the overdrive was working, but after one or two miles check engine light came on and overdrive not working anymore. I have been reading on several forums and know I'm not the only one with overdrive problems. I think the problem is not inside the transmission, we did oil changes / oil filter every 30k miles. Could this problem be related to the knock sensors ? Can anyone give me a logical explanation for this ? Andy / Dutch Caribbean.

  5. We own for several years a RX-300 / 1999, the last weeks I had to revill the AC system several times, I added UV-dyce to try to find the leak in one of the hoses / condensor / dryer or compressor, but without any result. Probably the evaporator is the problem. Can somebody explain to me in what order I have to disassemble the "car" to get the evaporator out. Or does anyone have other suggestions ??
  6. This morning I wanted to start my LS-400 / 1991 only 105k miles, but it's only cranking. It is sparking by the sparkplugs, probably a gasoline related problem. I did check the fuses, but they are all good, I also switchd the selenoids EFI and Horn, but also without any result. How can I check if the fuel pomp is working. Can I put 12V directly on the fuel pomp ( by the tank). With connector is for the fuel pomp and what wire is the positive ?
