  1. It looks like my u shape hose is leaking slowly near the connection of the hose to metal section. My question is whether you cut the metal ps return pipe where hose is connected then simply clamped hose to metal section with hose clamp or zip tie? Thanks
  2. I have a '91 ls400. I just had a local non dealer shop replace the timing belt, water pump and replace the lower ball joints. Incidently, the car has 131,000 on it and from looking at the timing belt, the belt had never been replaced! The problem is, ever since thew did this work yesterday, when the car is parked the front suspension goes all the way down. It will pump up when running but something is now definitely wrong for it to go all the way down when parked which did not happen before this work was done yesterday. I suspect there must be an air leak, perhaps a nicked or loose line from the timing belt or lower ball joint job. Could this be an ajustment or is there probably a leak? If there is a leak, how do I go about finding it. I do have the shop manual but don't see this problem discussed. I intend to take it back, and am hopeful they will take care of the problem but would appreciate any diagnostic advice suggestions or prayers. Thanks ps Before I noticed this new problem, I thought the shop did a good job with toyota parts and was reasonable priced at $65 per hour. The entire job was done for a little less than a thousand dollars.
  3. I upgraded my 91 LS 400 to a set of 2001 lexus ES 300 17 inch five spoke chrome wheels that ride and perform great. Certainly no problem braking. Once in a while, I hear the tire rub a tierod in a full lock turn backing up. Great ride, good looks and I am very happy I found the set of wheels at a used wheel shop for about $350.00. I have a set of YOKO's on it, at the time, I didn't want to spend the money on michelin Also, the old wheels were slightly bent from the prior owner giving me a lousy ride. Good Luck!
  4. I have a trusty 91 LS 400 with 130K miles. I have put about 22,000 miles on it in two years. Prior (second) owner just confirmed Fletcher Jones records that timing belt and water pump never changed. Although I plan to replace my own lower ball joints myself, the timing belt, water pump, rotor, plugs, wires, radiator rod and core, idler pully bearings etc is a bit more than I care to handle on my daily driver. Can any of you southern Nevada lexus owners recommend a good repair shop for the above work? Many thanks
