  1. Does anyone know the procedure to reprogram the volume controls on the steering wheel ? My '03 had the integrated phone installed which I never use anymore and I would like for the controls on the steering wheel to control the volume up and down for the audio system. There was a post about a year ago that I have tried without sucess. Can this be done ??? :(

The "cutoff" is the same for both bulbs if they placed at the correct focal point within the projector assemply. One should always confirm that spec before installing any different kind of bulb obviously....... Now have almost 300 miles of night driving and haven't had one person give me the "dim your lights" flash.
  3. They are XenonVision H18K. She got them off e-bay for around $80 (including shipping). I was leary of them but what the heck, I had them and no changes to the LX to install so I did. I have to disagree with the post about the 8K not much brighter than a halogen. I can now see deer along the road from a 1/4 mile away. With the old halogens, you were on them before you saw them. And centerline reflectors light up a long way down the road now. I find that I get almost as much vision with the low beams as I do with the high. There are several listed on e-bay at vastly different prices, but I am very pleased with these.
  4. Wife surprised me with a HID headlight system for Christmas for my '02 LX470. I Just got around to installing it on New Years Day and it took all of about 20 minutes to install including the ballasts. WOW what a difference !! I got the 8000 degree lamps and they are a bright blue/white in color and I cannot believe how much better I can see at night on low beams !! If you do not have HID's on your LX please look into them, they are biggest improvement I have made to date !!
  5. We have owned 6 Lexus' (still have 3) and the LX is the first one that does not have any type of trip computer. I know the mileage is horrible, but it would still be nice to have the Avg MPG display and the DTE available, just wondering why they didn't include it in the LX ?
  6. I was discouraged to read on this forum that after buying Denso version 6.1, to learn that I could no longer override the in-motion lockout on the nav screen. I went ahead and tried the keystrokes listed elsewhere on this site and the menu came up with the "override drive" button still there. It still overrides the lockout and works fine. So don't be discouraged if you have version 6.1 without first trying it. I was told that any system with 6.1 would not allow the override, but I know that 6.1 on my generation 3 unit, it is still alive and well. ( oh it also still works in my wife's '03 LS)
  7. Hmmm could be. I know when the button is pressed and the indicator in the panel lights, I can feel all wheels pulling in a tight turn. ?????? When off, it corners normally...
  8. Mine is a 2002 and it is not full time 4WD, it is selectable by pressing a switch on the dash. I am pretty sure that with the transfer case in N, the only thing turning is the 2 drive shaft, and the tranny isn't connected at all.
  9. Does anyone tow a LX470 four wheels down behind a motorhome ? If so what procedures, if any, are necessary to prevent problems? I see all of the tow bar mfg's make a baseplate for the 470, but they all say "read owners' manual" which says "do not". So what gives ??
