  1. I'm two thirds of the way into this beast-- I'm willing and the dealer's willing. All I have to do is convince the wife. Saw 5 of them at my dealers intro. party last night. They had just come from the track here in Vegas. Spoke to their pro. drivers and go plenty of info. The showing was put on by Lexus. IS - F Base MSRP $56,000 Mark Levinson $3,990 NAV $2,550 I-Pod Interface $299 Floor mats $100 8 speed Direct Shift Tranny F IS 19-inch BBS Forged Alum. Wheels Brembo Brakes Horsepower 416 Torque 371 @ 5200 Redline 6,800 rpm 0-60 4.6 sec. 1/4 Mile 13.0 Top Track Speed 170 mph Accessories due in two months. If installed by Dealer, full warranty. If it weren't for the quad exhaust tips and the badges, you could mistake it for an IS 350 Colors seem to be the same. P.S. There was a dark colored 250 sitting in the back lot, they said it was highly modded, but would give out no information. The car will be available for test driving, but only the dealer knows when.
  2. In case no-one has seen this, check out -- www.lexus.com/isf
  3. 'there's this little place in Tijuana---' Seriously, you may have a problem in getting a late model shop manual. Try the easiest first, ask the parts dept. manager in your Dealership. Next, try on-line at www.chiltonsonline.com. Make sure what they have is more than just a 15 page guide. A large part of the problem is that whatever they have cuts off at 2006 or earlier. What you need is the 'real' book that has several hundred pages and weighs a ton. Good luck.
  4. All I know is that when the alarm goes off in my 2003 "Z", the warning show up on the cluster as 'left front' or 'right front' and the same with the rear wheels. In addition -- it also shows the real time psi for each wheel displayed. Hell, if Nissan can do it, I'm sure that Lexus could also. I never did rotate the tires, since the fronts are P225/45WR18, and the rear are P245/45WR18. Still, when I go to get air, I check all four tires.
  5. Hi Janizary, When I first started, I wanted the Sport Package. I checked (on-line) Utah, Arizona and California, and no Dealer could deliver unless I placed a true special order. This would require 3-4 months of waiting. I didn't want to wait that long, nor did I want to buy out of state like a friend of mine did. There was no real price advantage. I then checked the various available packages and found that if I ordered the XE package with the Moonroof, and several other packages such as HL, NV, and PT, I would basically have the Sport Package. The only things missing were front Seat memory, Exterior mirror with memory, Power tilt & telescopic with memory, and Rain sensing wipers. I could do all of those functions, but manually, not by memory. I was willing to give up those Memory features in order get a shorter delivery date. In my case, rather than a true Special factory order, it became a Preferred order which means already built, just search for it. In short, I had my 2008 IS 350 with the equipment I wanted in three weeks. In addition, the car arrived with the Rear Lip Spoiler and Trunk Mat in place. It seems that those two items are almost automaticlly installed at the Port, and I was not required to pay for them. As far as the Agency, they treated me as if I had just purchased their top of the line special Hybrid Sedan. My Salesman has already given me two hands-on training sessions on the Nav. system and in making Bluetooth phone calls. All in all, I am totally impressed with Lexus of Las Vegas and with the deal they gave me. If you need more info, give a holler. barlettafrank, This is the only Lexus dealer in town. I would have had to go out of state for any competition. I checked with Longo in Calif., and one in Arizona. Neither one would give anything off, since the 08's were just starting to come in. A friend of mine bought his big Lexus from Colorado, and outside of mechanical service, he gets nothing from the local dealer in the line of help and support. I received $1,500 directly off MSRP on a new 2008 IS350 Preferred order. I also received at no charge-- $500 Tint job, $355 Rear Lip Spoiler and a $69 Trunk mat. All told, the equivalent of $2,424. Not much if you compare it to some of the claims on this forum, but at least my figures are true. Finally, if a customer wanted an 08 IS 250, he would be able to get a far better deal. As long as the car is in stock. Helps this helps. By the way, it took three weeks after my $500 deposit before I took delivery.
  6. Hi sharpcolorado, I'm having no luck with Dial by Name voice command. I know it's a chore, but could you possibly give me the step by step, (screen by screen) input to make calls by name? I get hung up in the first Phone Book screen, and I need all the help I can get. The Dealer is of no help. Thanks, Vegas
  7. Does anyone know the individual steps (and screens) that are necessary to make a NAV bluetooth telephone call just by using just the persons name? I know that it's in the manual, but I must be missing something. I am able to make calls by number, but that defeats the hands-off eyes-off concept. I have tried search, but no answers. If you can help, I will name my first born after you.

  9. This is probably a long shot, but has anyone successfully connected a Sanyo 7050 Bluetooth phone into a Nav equipped IS 350?
  10. Hey Mike, I would suggest that you go to edmunds.com, select used cars, and enter the nearest U.S. zip code. You will be given a chance to enter the car model and the options. You can verify their prices by doing the same at kbb.com. You can then view the used car inventory at several Lexus dealers close to home. I just picked up a new IS 350 Friday, and I love it. Good luck --
  11. Does anyone know for sure if the Liquid Graphite finish alloy wheels featured in the XE package are Clear Coated? I contacted Meguiars about thieir 'All Wheel Cleaner', and they said NOT to use it if the wheels are NOT clear coated. I called Lexus in Calif., but they didn't seem to know. Thanks --
  12. Yesterday (Friday) I received a phone call from my dealer telling me that they had the PIN # for the 350 I ordered. Does anyone have an idea as to the time line for delivery to the local dealer? I live in Las Vegas, maybe 6-7 hours from Long Beach. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not really anxious)
  13. Thanks for your quick response. I wanted to make sure the dealer got it right.
  14. Does anyone know the IS Lexus color codes for: Exterior -Obsidian (black) Interior -Black Leather
  15. I stumbled onto this web site, and I'm sure that you will all enjoy it. If you have seen this before, I apologize. I am having a ball with it, and learning how to shift. Goto www.lexus.ca Click on 'Race the IS 350' " 'Show Lexus CA menu' " 'Engine Start Select (click) your car/ " 'Continue' Good Luck
  16. My 'Z' identifies the wheel having a problem, but it would be foolish to check only that one. If enough time has passed so that one tire is low, you would be prudent to check them all. Consider the warning a notice to check all tires.
  17. Is there a list of TSB's for IS 250/350 models? I tried search, but no luck.
  18. Vegas, there was a thread either here, or at club lexus that gave a few dealers in Calif. that are willing to negotiate on the IS350, as opposed to our single, local dealer here in Las Vegas. I'll see if I can find it and post the dealership names. It is pretty clear that that will more than likely be the route I will be going. Hi Guys, I was able to get approximately 1.5 K off of MSRP for a 2008 IS 350. Not too shabby considering the following: a. Special Order b. 2008 models came out in Sept. c. No dealer competition. No high pressure, just amicable negotiation and a lot of coffee. I signed up for a Black on Black NV (Nav system) PT (Premium Pkg.) XE (WOW) HL (Hi intensity lights with adaptive system) Rear lip Spoiler Trunk mats Do your homework and have several backup positions available. Hey Janizary, when you are ready, see Steve in their Internet sales group. P.S. The IS 350 demo test drive was an eye opener. I own a lightly modified 350Z, and I was impressed with the smoothness and power of the IS.
  19. What do you think my chances would be to get 2K off of MSRP on a special order IS 350?
  20. Looking for a good deal at Lexus of Las Vegas. If this is not a proper post, I apologize in advance. I believe 'luckyme' got a good price at that agency in August. If he is out there, please answer.
  21. Courtesy of Edmunds: Base $35,905 LT Lusury Pkg. $4325 VN Nav $3990 ST sport Pkg. $3805 LL Lusury + $3495 NV Nav $2550 XE X Pkg. $1394 PT Prem.+ $1290 ML Mark L $940 XF X Pkg w/o Sunroof $894 FT 18' Wheels & tires $ 830 No Invoice prices posted.
  22. Hi Janizary, I am also interested in buying an IS 350. I have been talking to Eric Walker of their internet group. Maybe if the two of us get together and offer Lexus of Las Vegas a double sale, maybe they will give us a good price. We can't do any worse. If this sounds good to you, please E-mail me at bar@embarqmail.com and we can plan our action. I tried to message you, but it wouldn't go through. Have a good one.
  23. How good, or how bad is the Standard Sound system? I am now thinking of getting the NV package that comes without the ML option. My normal drive time is about 35 - 40 minutes, anything longer and I fly. I don't believe that I would really appreciate the Mark Levinson option, or am I wrong?
  24. Hey Cory and Tex2670-- You are right. I was thinking of the VN NAV with the ML system, but getting the NV version can't be all that bad. A powerful influence just entered the picture, my wife. She prefers the IS because it has more class. Thanks for your help. You're adding too much money for the Nav--you are adding $3,990 for the ML/Nav package. Look at the original post--he's only getting the Nav, which is $2550, meaning the IS 350 is $41,950. Get the IS.
