  1. Hi Guys,

So my 2002 Ls430 actuator stopped working. Short story was some crack head in NJ broke into the car last year and only store manuals....the door lock actually worked for couple days but then the motor in the actuator died.

So over the weekend, I decided to go to the junk yard to see if I can get an actuator or just the motor. I DID NOT FIND one single ls430 there. I found a couple GS300/400 and decided to get one of the door latches off. The motor in this latch/actuator for that model car was the same size but the terminal where the wires connect and the shaft was totally different. I didn't mind since I can rewire the terminals. When I tried getting the shaft off I broke the little back end plastic piece that hold the end of the shaft. I glued it back together but I didn't want to take that chance. I also chiseled the shaft to match the same shape as the motor shaft I took out on my ls430.

Here are some pictures of my LS 430 actuator motor:

Last thing i want to do right now is to use the motor from the GS400 since I kind of broke the back end. I have looked online and searched the Lexus forums. It looks like the motor the ls430 uses is the:

    Mabuchi motor: FC-280PC-22125

    http://www.mabuchi-motor.co.jp/cgi-bin/cat...T_ID=fc_280pcsc

Does anyone know where I can just buy 1 or 2 of this motor?

Every where else seems to wants me to buy at least 10. I just need one motor.

  2. What car does not require a brake fluid issue with brakes?

I am changing the rotor and not brake pads... i guess i should have rephrase the question a litter better.

Do i need to change or drain the brake fluid to change rotors? :)

  3. try lexls.com

thanks, I just looked at that site and have printed material on rotor for the ls400 when i use to have one. Looking at the info, it looks like for the ls400 you had to bleed the brake line just to replace the rotor??? I really hope i don't have to do this for the ls430?

  4. Hi, I am in search for front and possibly rear rotors for my wife's 2002 lexus LS430.

I am been searching the net and came across these and wanted to run it through you guys to see if these will work.

    http://store.r1concepts.com/items/item.asp...;utm_medium=cpc

Also notice the price. I sent them an email already to verify that it is both left + right.

I also cam across this one: - Aftermarket Front Brake Disc 2001-2003 Lexus LS430

    http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?Ntt=Brak...0987+4294967263

    http://www.thepartsbin.com/catalog/?N=1656...4294967263+9179

PS: notice the first one is and the 2nd one...same identical rotors.

Anyways if any body knows where i can also check for prices, please let me know.

    Thanks.

  5. I have a 2002 LS430. What i want to know is

    1) What generation am i ? --- I am guessing i am Gen 3

    2) What Navigation DVD do i need to get to update the Maps.

Will the "Toyota Lexus Navigation DVD Gen 3 v6.1 86271-33035 464210-0750" work?

    will the "Lexus-Toyota USA-CAN. Nav DVD Gen 4 Ver. 6.1 - 464210-0780" work?

  6. IMO: I do not think the frame is damaged and neither is the hood. Although you will need a new bumper and probably a fender.

My suggestion would be to contact your local Lexus dealer and ask them to recommend you a body shop they use, or you can call any other major dealership around your area and ask them.

But what a story about your unfortunate accident. Approximately how old where the boys that hit you? Also, how long is that douche in jail, hope is more than few months and gets rear ended in the five star hotel  ?

Thanks, the guy is about 28-35yrs old. I don't think he will be getting out of jail anytime soon. I just hope he has insurance and from the looks of things he might.

  7. Well guys, i was hit by a drunk driver yesterday. This is how the story goes...coming to a stop at an intersection the fool came speeding into my lane and hit me and the wifey. Then he put the car into reverse and came at me again in attempt to mount my car before speeding away...but he didn't get too far... He attempted to flee the scene with his boys but the impact of the head on collision was so great that he drove into the woods approximately .5 miles away. His boys ran off but he couldn't get too far before the cops found him crawling in the bushes. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for him he got arrested and jailed. The wife and I are fine for now but she is complaining about neck/head pain. My neck is stiff and still hard to say although i was taken by the ambulance to the ER. Anyways here are some pictures and do you guys think the frame is damaged and better yet where is a good place in MD (college park) area that can take care of this quickly.

  8. Hi Guys, I tried starting the car the other day '02 ls430 after a long trip and it won't start. Measured the battery voltage and it was 11.xx. Ended up jumping it and it started. Warmed it up and turned it off. Measured the voltage again and it is 12.78. Started it and it started fine. I know the battery is dying and i don't want no surprise when i go out and can't start the car..... Battery is the Original one that came with the car still has the Lexus dealership tag on it.

My question is this. The Wife and I have marked points for the GPS. We really don't want to loose all these addresses if you know what i mean. I want to replace the battery this weekend and is there a way to save the addresses. I am afraid if i pull the battery i will loose all my addresses?

  9. Can someone kindly tell me or if there is a DIY for the LS430 on how to change this. My Ls430 just hit the 100k mark. I am not scared anymore getting underneath the car and what not. I do my own oil change on both my cars i will REALLY like to flush/change the transmition oil on my lexus. I have looked all over only to stumble onto this thread. So please if you have any info on how to change the:

    1) Transmission Fluid (Toyota Type IV ATF, part #00279-000T4) --- i am reading ATF amosil is better???

    2) Power Steering Fluid

    3) Coolant (use a 50/50 mix of Toyota Long Life Coolant and distilled water)

    4) Change Differential Fluid

    5) Transmission Filter

    6) Spark Plugs and Wires --- know i can do this, just need to get the plugs & wire

    7) Distributor Cap & Rotor

    8) PVC Valve

Others i might leave to the DEALER---knowing they will RAPE me :(

    1) Timing belt

    2) Water pump

    3) Cooling system thermostat and thermostat gasket

    4) Accessory drive belt

  10. I put $1 at the back of title.  Then I made a bill of sale and put $1 on it as well.  You have to put your and her name, car model, year, odometer reading, VIN number on it as well.  Then at the bottom you both need to sign it. Since I personally knew a guy who could notarize, my sister and I signed the bill of sale in advance and then took it to the guy to notorize it.  You may have to go to a notory place like a bank or police station etc. and sign the bill of sale in front on them.

My advice to my sister was to be confident when dealing with the MVA clerk.  There is nothing wrong that we are doing so no need to be doubtful as to what they will say.  Some clerks can give you hard time, but you can ask to speak to the supervisor and he'll probably let you take care of it.

She went to the Laurel MVA.  We've usually had good experiences there.

Ok i just called MVA and they told me all i had to do is sign the back of the title over to her. No need for bill of sale stuff. I made it clear to the guy that i am giving the car to my aunt. Looks like if the car is more than 10yrs old they don't care anymore.

  11. I gave away my car to my sister couple of years ago.  To avoid the hastle of filling out form for giving it as a gift and also giving MVA the proof, I simply sold the car for $1 and I also had a notorized bill of sale to go with it.  MVA did not give her any problems and charged her tax on a $1 which came to I think 5 cents.

Can you please walk me through how you accomplished this. Did you get a bill of sale paper or did you just put the $1 on the back of the car title?

I want to get this done tomorrow

    Thanks.

  12. Since you are in the state of MD, you can transfer the vehicle as a gift to a family member (includes aunt over 65 yrs of age).  You will need to complete the Gift Certification form.  The vehicle will also need a MD safety inspection plus new plates.  Take a look at this link: http://www.marylandmva.com/VehicleServ/REG/titlereg.htm

    Good luck!

I looked into that first before posting. The problem is my aunt is not 65+ yrs. Now one thing i can do is give it to my mom and then she hands it over to my aunt in about 1month but i dont want to go that route since i want to surprise her this saturday with it.

  13. Hi, I don't know where else to post this so i figure i will just ask away here.

Tomorrow i want to give my aunt my '94 LS400 lexus. I want to know if i can just sell it to her for $1000 and sign over the title. I really don't want her paying the state (Maryland) anything. It is her b-Day tomorrow and what a nice way to suprise her.

Can Anyone provide me an EASY and painless way to do this.

    cenwesi@hotmail.com

    Thanks.

  14. Yep, Lexusfreak and some other people really got this one right. These tires are GREATE!!!!! I never knew this car can be this quite and absorb bumps/put holes this good because of these tires. Who said it was louder.... I know for a fact that my ls430, all i hear is the engine noise (very little) and the well known air noise on the door when doing over +50mph. If anyone is looking to upgrade their tires, believe me this is the one you want on your ride.

  15. Update!!!!

Well yesterday i ended up going with the Falken zeix-512 225/55/Z17 ZR. This is the tire that should have come with this car. I mean NO MORE TIRE noise, no more when i run into a put hole, the noise the tire/car makes. I mean i can go on about some stuff i have notice just from yesterday and this morning regarding these tires on the car. To make a long story short, if ANY one is hunting for tires, look no further. Get the Falken Zeix-512 225/55/Z17 ZR, you wont regrete it. And thanks to thoes that helped in my other threads.
