Yeah, it won't. We talked about this before. Modifying isn't about any one or two mods. It's stacking them together and getting them to work together in order to achieve that custom look, or real difference in hp. Even a turbo by itself isn't good. You have to add the intercooler, Wideband, boost controller, boost gauge, and so on. So, I think you keep looking at the whole marathon, instead of just the next step. A couple hundred bucks here, a good deal there, a few hundred after that, and the next thing you know, -------------------------------------> or over here going faster! :) , and lookin good doin it!! Yeah i just cant face it lol i dont want to admit the is300 stock is slowish =(, since the engine is well known people tend to give alot of credit and once u try to race someone and it isnt as fast as some thought makes me feel like crap lol. The only mod i see worth putting first besides turbo...would be the srt intake which is suppose to give 25-30hp gains but i dont think that alone can make much of a diff =\

Well im in that verge on racing once in a while with friends or random people in the road but i think im doing it all wrong. 1st ill state what i have IS300 2001 e-shift. What i have been doing this whole time is before the race starts on a role press the ECTPWR button on and than give hell to the gas it works ok when racing another automatic car but when i race people with manual trany i dont get that quick push as soon as my gas pedal hits like them, i know its because they can lower their rpm and that would give them the edge. One time i tried using e-shift but it messes up if at 3 gear n i want to lower the gear to 2 the car doesnt kick in as fast as it should think of it as a LAG....any tips? Side question: is ECTPWR button even useful?

Well i aint too familiar to exhaust, when u say exhaust the 1st thing that pops to mind are those loud !Removed! civics that pass by the road everyday lol so im like thats way to loud and it really sounds horrible, But than again i saw some is300 with exhaust that sound just right they are not loud when ur driving at normal speeds but when u push the gas pedal it sounds nice as hell so what i wanted to know is what are the things that i should be looking at when it comes to getting an exhaust? is the only way to hear how an exhaust sounds trough you tube videos? and also would this exhaust mods lead to engine check lights in the future?

ill take a look at the ssr proffesors hopefully they are in the same price range the previous rims i looked at but about this whole material business u seem to know about it alot u mention they are cast rims i aint to familiar with rims material all i know is that forged rims are the strongest..so could explain to me what exactly are cast rims as in what makes them ok n what makes them bad or also what diff is between the forged rims?

i see yeah the forged ones are like 700e rim lol i cheked for the volk rims i had my eyes on but >_< the price lol is killing. As long as the rims are not Horrible than im ok with it like you said both are known brands i see them in magazines n in games so i was like cool lol. In your opinions which do you think fit the IS better?

I did check some out and i found one particular rim that i liked alot but its gona cost alot lol i liked the VOLK RACING sf challenge rim black diamond colored >_< as the rims are forged i herd nothing but good things about them but if i wanna get those im gona have to fork out $2,735 on the rims alone and i really wasn't looking to spend alot more than $1500.....than i looked into the katana kr5's...which r $1100 i herd that the katana brand copies alot of other models but not sure what material are they made up of =\ also liked the Akuma Wheels N-005 and i know NOTHING about the akumas so any input would help alot.

Well i want to buy new wheels for my car but theres is soooooooooo many brands and styles out there that is really hard to know which ones are good or bad and so i was wondering if some of you guys that already went trough that phase in finding the right set of rims for the car could recommend me something? I am kinda looking for a 5 spoke style rims, i have a blk IS so im taking some opinions on what looks good on it you can suggest me what color would match best (dont say gold lol) and if you really thing theres another design thats better than 5 spoke dont hesitate to tell me about it. I know that rims have a lot of prices so i was wondering if there are any decent ones around $1500 under.....

0.0 thats a nice tip yo lol i did notice that one time but completely forgot about it like u mentioned is not about slammin the gas pedal the whole time, cuz thats what i did lol seems the car goes as quick because u pushed the gas all the way in but it takes a while to shift and when it shifts seems as it looses strength than catches up with it but to late =\ ...some people saying all i would need is a valve-body upgrade whats that??

Will there be any problems if i change the intake or anything else like engine check lights n junk i dont wanna be bothered by little things like that if i decided to put anything in the car... i know there is an alternative way with a joez something which prevents that whole engine warnings but is that the only thing that wont show after problems?

The agonizing toils of decision you must be enduring Jesus!!! LOL!! I'm not gonna answer this. Everyone has their own opinion. NO, not at all. You just have to be able to control the tranny with the gas pedal instead of the clutch. In terms of what? I don't really understand this question. To me, this question ties into the first question in that there aren't alot of cars out there you can compare it to because of the uniqueness of the IS 300. "Fast" is a relative term. Stock, it's faster than a Acrua TL, RSX, and TSX, Nissan Altima and MAxima, Honda Accord or Civic, etc.etc. If you want the car to be faster than a 350Z, Mustang and that class, yeah, turbo or supercharger, or v8 swap is the only way. Yes. but stompin faster? no, probably not. But 0-60 might shave a half second. 1/4 mile maybe 3 or 4 car lengths. If your not going turbo, then a CAI would be a good first. yes srry some of the questions where little awkward to answer lol, so which CAI would you recommend? keeping in mind i prolly wont get turbo any time soon lol so ill prolly wanna get the most out of the intake lol i have herd of the srt brand seems to be pretty good so any recommendations?

Well i have a few questions i wanna know about the power of an is300, i know a few things like you can drop a supra engine on the car and things like that so plz dont think i dont know jack about the is300 LOL but what i want from you guys that have the car for a while n know more about this car than me to answer the following questions.... make it small answer or long dont matter but answer the questions according to the cars power not luxuries. What makes this car good(what would u say if someone says the is300 is a piece of junk nvm what that person drives lol)? Is having this car automatic handicap me in speed compared to a manual? If you can compare this car to other cars which ones would u say in terms of speed? Is turbo the only way to make the IS300 go fast? Can minor upgrades like cold air intake, exhausts etc...make the is faster? What would be the 1st mod you would get your IS to make it go faster?

SO marquiers wax aint good at all??? is there bad concequences if u do use it or it just doesnt make the car loko nice or anything minor like that?

Hi well i own a blk onyx IS and it is a pain to keep it clean specially if it rains it leaves alot of water spots and it looks horrible so everyone is telling me to wax the car and use clay bars soo i got this ... http://www.cleanacar.com/g1smsuclkit.html in order to use the clay bar i have to wash the car n dry it like always right? than what i wanna know is how to apply the clay thing and if i am gona wax it do i do that after or before the clay bar?

I KNEW IT! i payed to get that color u have and got the silver one instead see i mean it dont look bad but i aint what i payed for i called the company where i got it n they told me they sending me 2 pieces of carbon fiber one should be like urs n the other one should be silver so i can compare with it but im sure they got it wrong so ill be demanding to get the one i wanted.

Well i wanted to get something that was shiny all the time without to like clean it or w/e lol and the 1st thing that came to mind was carbon fiber so looky =) Downside is that i dont think thats the color it should be, this one seems to be more silverish than dark what u guys say?

Yeah ur right see so far i tinted the car added some c-west eyelids (i like eyelids lol) and a carbon fiber interior with custom lexus headrest is not much but it looks sexy lol about the antena i dunno why people change it i mean like i never saw the stock antena as a bad look to the car but not sure never seen a comparison between a small antena n stock about the caliper paint i aint sure how it works lol do i really just need a caliper paint that pepboys sells??? and wut just spray paint it or something ??? and as far as the dvd/nav screen im gona put a hold to that because since i am gona have to change the rear speakers and all i want to get a whole better system with sub woofers in all at the same time so thats gona wait abit and the 1st thing i am gona save for is a for a set of blk katana rims that i got my eyes on.
