  1. My 2003 GX 470 dome light and Garage door opener keeps breaking the 15 amp fuse. I traced the problem to inside the dome light compartment, the wires are shorting and causing smoking. Has anyone else experienced this issue. I have a call into Lexus, and looking for some one to professionally repair. Thanks, Mark
  2. It worked! To view a DVD on the rear entertainment screen with out a remote: 1. Turn on Car 2. Choose "I accept" on front Nav. system. 3. Drop down Rear Entertainment Screen 4. Insert DVD and play from Drivers Screen. Note: Requires reinserting DVD each and every time you restart the car ... This gives control back to driver, which is best when you perform the DVD override mod. Thanks Antonio.
  3. Hi Mark, I have a 2006 GX and I can activate the RSES without the remote by re-inserting the DVD into the DVD player. Have you tried this? Antonio. Thanks for your post .... I thought there was some way it worked back there without the remote. So you have the rear monitor down and just insert the DVD and it will play in the back? I'll try it, let me know if there is any other method ...
  4. 2006 Lexus GX 470 Rated in Top 10 Vehicles: Most Appealing Vehicles Written by Jonathan P. Lamas http://www.forbesautos.com/advice/toptens/...9-lexus_gx.html The Lexus GX 470 is a powerful midsize vehicle capable of both on- and off-road performance. Sporting a 263-hp 4.7-liter V8 engine, the GX 470 is loaded with more than just power. The 2006 model features amenities galore. Take the Rear Adaptive Height Control, for instance. This feature was designed to add an additional 1.6 inches of clearance when navigating through tough terrain. Other features include heated outside mirrors, a towing package and a leather interior. In 2006, Lexus introduced four new exterior colors: Cypress Pearl, Nautical Blue, Savannah Metallic and Titanium Metallic. Neal Oddes of J.D. Power and Associates said, “The GX does well on the engine and transmission side. The smoothness of shifting the gears is the top-rated attribute for the GX owners. They really like how smoothly the vehicle operates and also the way in which the exhaust sounds when shifting the gears.” The 2006 Lexus GX 470 received a five-star rating in the Mechanical Quality-Design category, according to the J.D. Power and Associates Circle Power Rating system.
  5. Ajbolit: I found a site that provides details on the version based on year of your vehicle: http://www.sewellparts.net/Lexus_Nav_Generation_Chart.pdf In addtion, there is also a link with detailed instructions on how to change the DVD software for the GX470 (as well as other vehicles) http://www.lexus-parts.com/nav_install.pdf The company Sewell parts sells the DVD upgrade for $299 less a special rebate of $40 till January 7, 2007 for a total of $259. The advantage over Ebay ... they quarantee the product will work with your vehicle with a warranty. Ordering information ...... http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?...roduct%20Notes:
