  1. OK we just got the latest LS and it has built-in bluetooth. I've already managed to connect my nokia phone to the car. and i was also able to transfer couple of contacts, one by one.

My problem is i want to transfer all the contacts to the car's phonebook, just like in the BMW. Is there a way to do that? is there a way to sync the contacts automatically?

It depends on your phone, if you have a smart phone like treo or pocket pc it should be able to do it. What phone model do you have and what carrier do you use? I know the verizon phones almost never do it.

  2. you have the imagine the sensor on the bottom of the seat, it measures the weight of the occupant to ensure the airbag does more good than harm. The problem is, it only measures "butt force", so just the weight you put on the seat, so your arms and legs or anything your leaning on will reduce that weight. So someone around 100lbs might only be putting down 70 lbs of "butt force"

  3. Hi guys I'm new to the forums and I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips. I'm changing over from a 02 c230 mb, and I have my heart set on a 07 is250. I plan on going into the dealer in a couple of days and hopefully driving off in one...or at least have a date when i could come back and pick it up haha. But i was wondering how much you guys think i should be paying for this combo (I live in Hawaii):

    07 is250 auto blk/blk

    * (PT) Premium Plus Package

    o Wood interior trim

o Heated & Ventilated Front Seats

    o Perforated leather seat upgrade

    * (FT) 18" Alloy Wheels with Summer Tires

    * (HL) HID Headlamps

also how much the 18" ISP rims would cost extra? and if theres any options I may have missed that i should really get. Thanks for all your help, and I hope to become a lexus owner real soon :whistles:

The car should have a MSRP around $35,222

The ISP's I think are around $1800 but I sure I'm wrong on that.

Now as far as price to you, ask the dealer to show you invoice price. Then work on a deal above invoice, this way your setting the dealers profit. The nicer you are to them, the more they will do for you. Also, tell them you'll give them 100% on the servey you will grade them on after the sell.

Let Us know how it goes!

  4. Hi,

I bought my car in Feb'07. In April'07, I noticed 1-2 times that there was a straight thin line running vertically across the screen when I was backing up. I noticed this thin (whitish) line, once or twice. It didnt reoccur after that.

I noticed the same line (shifted to a different location on the screen) recently. I again saw it 1-2 times and now when I backup I dont see any such line.

    • Has anyone reported this issue?
    • Any suggestions? The car is under warranty for a the next few years, so I am not super concerned, but should I report to a dealer about this ASAP? Given the sporadic nature, its probably going to be difficult to reporoduce this issue.

Suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.

Is the sun behind you when you notice the line? I haven't noticed it in the car, but I get the same type of thing on the LCD screen of my digital camera when shooting into the sun.

I agree with the sun comment, to my knowledge lexus hasn't released and TSIB's on the back-up camera display, I'll double check the database.

  5. Hi guys,

This is my first and hopefully not the last post.

I am lanning to buy is 250 in the next few days and i did sent price quote to several internet managers.

I got one reply so far. For 33000 invoice they are asking 33997. Is that to much or i can do something better at the end of July and specially if i pick 2007 model?

I am just not sure what is a good price over invoice.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

From everything I have read, I thought IS's were going for UNDER invoice in SoCal?

The SoCal market is the most aggressive in the nation, there are like 13 dealer with a 1 hour drive of each other. But yeah, you should get a car under invoice, if you need help with that shoot me an email or PM. I have some friends in high places.

  6. Hey All,

I am seriously considering a 2007 IS 250 purchase at the end of the month and wanted to see if you guys had any insight into mechanical/design problems that might influence my decision. I am heading out to California for medical school in three weeks and am considering this car due to the gas mileage, styling, price, and 4 yr. bumper to bumper warranty. I plan on paying cash for it and making it last through four years of school, a three year residency, a possible one year fellowship.

The only direct complaint I have heard about the IS came from an acquaintance who said that his 2006 IS 250 "drifted" from lane to lane on the highway. I was happy to learn that the problem was quickly resolved (for free) after the dealership in Austin replaced the tires with Michelins. Any other known issues?

Maintenance costs don't seem to be a big concern either because I don’t plan on driving it more that once or twice a week for the first two years of school (I'll be living 2 blocks from campus). And I like that it uses conventional oil and oil changes don't have to be done at the dealership.

    Thanks for the help!

If you are serious about buying a car in july you can shoot me an email, I work for Lexus Dealer out here in california.

Now I'm not trying to sell you on the IS, the decsion is up to you, but I haven't had any of my guest's come back to me with any problems as far as technical/mechanical issues. Let me know I'll hook you up!

  7. I just got my 2007 IS 250 AWD with Luxury and NAV packages a few days ago. It's AWESOME! I've been trying to play a DVD, but it won't work. I have it in "IG-ON" mode and the emergency brake on. I insert the DVD and it says "CD Changer", and then it says "CD Check".

It says in my NAV Owner's Manual that I can play DVDs, but I'm beginning to think I don't have that option. Can you please help?

    Thank you SO much!

The DVD option only works if you got the Mark Levinson Package, It's nice in all, but how often do you sit ....Parked..... in your car? It only works that way. Sorry
