  1. The problem discribed here is not a normal function. The air coming out is hot and does not get cool over time despite lowering the temperature. Switching to recirculate will not solve the problem either as the heat seems to build up and permeates the lower dash. My car is going to the dealer first chance I get, but over the phone the service guy did not have a clue. More to come . . . .
  2. Markman: More details would be very helpful. Thanks
  3. Yep! After three trips to NTB it finally turned out to be a bad valve. I guess they just didn't take the time to check everything out earlier. BTW, I learned that the valve on the SC430 is part of the tire pressure monitor. Who knew?
  4. Ok all you tire experts - I recently replace my runflats with Yokohamas and have a very slow leak in one tire. I brought it back to the shop twice but they could not find the problem. Did the water check and soaped it up and still no luck. :( Any ideas? Bent rim maybe?
  5. How about a separate forum for the SC 430? The car is significantly different from the SC300/400 that it could justify its own discussions.
  6. I recently replaced the Potenzas with Yokohama AVS db 2 for the SC 430. Very satisfied so far. They cost $185per tire at NTB. It feels like a different car. :D
  7. I don't know if this is "help" but I recently replaced the run-flats with Yokohamas and am very happy with the new ride feel. As far as a spare, mine is a can of fix-a-flat. You can also get a portable inflator fairly cheap. I have never had a tire go completely flat immediately. If I had a nail, I could always get to the station. I know that the fix-a-flat may ruin the tire pressure monitor, but I really don't care. That is a pain of a feature anyway becasue you need to go to the dealer to have it reset any time it is triggered. Velocity
  8. What is involved in resetting the tire pressure monitor in a SC 430? thanks, Velocity
  9. A rock, I think, took a chip out of the front chrome grill on a SC 430. Is there any product or technique that can fill the gouge?
  10. What is you experiences with the tire pressure sensor in the SC 430? Is it reliable or have you experienced malfunctions? My light is steadily on but the tires (run flats) have enough air.
  11. Just bought a 2002 from a local dealer after checking ebay listings. E-bay did have significantly lower prices but I felt a little insecure committing to that. I could not see any real pattern in pricing with dealers. Cars with same millage seemed to differ in price based only on colors. Anyway, spring will fetch higher prices for sure rather than buying in January, if you can. I did not see much price reduction when 2004 starting to ship. Prices for replacement tires are between $200 and $350 by my experience. Velocity
