  1. so youve seen an sc with the spoiler i linked? yeah, thats what i thought. now !Removed!; your opinion is not wanted.
  2. the sc isnt totally flat as say an evo or early 90s honda; id say that it has hints of round with flat like the rsx or new subi's. btw, i found the spoiler im getting: (best pic i could find, which isnt all that great.) ive seen these on a few mk4 supras and thought that they looked good but maybe a little too flat for the supras round body, which makes it a pretty ideal fit in my eye. opinions?
  3. so how do you guys think the spoiler would look, assuming its the correct width?
  4. Might you be talking about this wing? I think he was talking about the SC Spoiler. you can always get a look-alike for $200 though: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2461880390 how bout this spoiler: ^that spoiler looks familiar to me. did it come on the skyline and/or rx7?
  5. you got any pics of your car with the supra spoiler?
  6. the sc is based on the supra platform, so how would the supra wing look on it?
  7. i dislike the stock wing/spoiler of the sc400. what spoilers flow well with the body lines and/or use the mounting holes that the oem spoiler does?
  8. ditch the borla. go to the local muffler shop and get a custom exhaust. will be much more cheaper in the long run.
  9. you cant say that an sc is better than a civic, nor vice versa. no single person sets the standard and it all depends on what the driver wants. now honestly, would you rather have a stock sc300 or a stock civic type r on very twisty track. you can also factor in a whole load of other crap such as what the owner has done to the car, cause i have seen quite a few civics that are worth a whole hell of a lot more than any sc i have ever seen. if you want a lexus, get a lexus; if you want a honda, get a honda. simple as that.
  10. ive got a 92 sc400 and im wondering how much vvtli heads and sc400 10.5:1 pistons can be had for. also, what all would need to be done to make the vvtli heads compatible? are there any other parts in the toyota parts bin that i should be aware of?
  11. there are absolutely ZERO shops that could tune my car. the apexi safc is probably the best bang/buck piggyback, and i personally think the most user friendly.
  12. i was thinkin about looking for a wideband o2 sensor (the sc400 doesnt come stock with a wideband, right?), af gauge, and an apexi safc to squeeze a scant few extra hp out and also improve gas mileage. but after buying all that, ill probably be in the hole over $300 which would defeat the whole purpose of pinching pennies (isnt this like the same problem with hybrid vehicles currently? they cost too much to justify their efficient gas mileage?). guess ill get that eram thingamabob to overcompensate for the richness at wot.
  13. do our sc400s usually run richer or leaner than the stoichiometric 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio?
  14. Good size. Don't forget to add some pictures for us to look at. Good luck will do!
  15. im just planning on doing boltons and i just found out through the magnaflow website that the local exhaust shop is an authorized magnaflow dealer. im probably just going to have 2.25" piping (recommended by planetsoarer.com) that eliminate the cat because the custom headers that im looking to group buy from lextreme.com are made for a 98+ and they dont bolt directly into the cats. all im going to do is probably wheels, tires, exhaust, headers, intake, and maybe get some eibach springs. of course, theres a local radio station having a contest where they have $200k that theyre just giving away for pretty much anything and i asked for $40k for an sc430 and they would get my current car, although the chances are VERY slim.
  16. It looks like they're just the mufflers. So I'm guessing it's an axleback <_< . I've never hear it called that before, until now. honestly, for the $700 for them, i could get a custom stainless steel exhaust; what a rip off. any suggested mufflers? what dimensions should i be looking for?
  17. is the rod millen exhaust (http://www.rodmillenstore.com/sc_400/exhaust.htm) an axleback or a catback? ive emailed them numerous times but theyve never responded.
  18. whoops; forgot to mention its a 4.0. not looking to get ANY piping, just removal of airbox.
  19. im not looking for a cai. do i even need an adaptor plate to put a cone on? or is it already circular because it has a maf?
  20. where can i get an intake adaptor plate so i can have a cone intake and eliminate the airbox?
  21. there is no mass-produced form of forced induction specifically for the sc400. ^i doubt anyone would disagree with that unless they want to debate the meaning of mass-produced, but thats just stupid and i dont have the time. well, id just been searching around for various performance parts for the sc400 with pretty much little success in all places; then i found this: its a 75 shot nozzle which is decent for a stock 1uzfe, to my knowledge. heres what im wanting to know: what nitrous accessories i should be looking for? should i stick with a complete zex lineup for compatibility? would i need a fuel management system such as the apexi safc? how would this run with 93 octane? i only plan on possibly using this 1 or 2 times a month, so whats the smallest zex bottle? what are all of the hazards of a 75 shot on a bolt on (i/h/e) 1uzfe? what else should i know? hope you guys can help me out because im a nitrous newb :P.
  22. im looking for performance parts for the lexus sc400 and as many of you already know, they are near non-existant. i have a few things that id like to know and hopefully this could be stickied to the top to help other new comers. im wanting to know of companies that sell the parts i am asking for, but im also going to include a suggestion(s) of a custom alternative that i would like your opinions on; here: EXHAUST: 3" custom piping eliminating the cat and resonator splitting into 2.5" piping with either 2.5" straight through mufflers or just chromed/polished stainless steel tips. HEADER: some skilled exhaust shop maybe? i dont know *shrugs*. INTAKE: ram air; custom tubing that routes the intake to where the stock airbox would be, with a k&n cone on the end. SUSPENSION: just something to lower it 1"; definitely dont want to cut springs. STRUT BARS: is it even possible? CARBON FIBER HOOD: no way in hell would i even attemp a diy cf hood, so where can i find one if they even exist which i doubt? WHEELS & TIRES: just go to tirerack.com; got that covered :P. these are some that i would personally like to know: what (other than the above specified items) would need to be done to achieve 300 hp (not whp) and/or 300 lb/ft tq? would 11:1 forged pistons and slightly more aggressive cams do it? what spoiler looks good on a sc300/400? im looking for something more aggressive looking, yet flows with the body lines very well.
