  1. id go ahead and get 285's in the back; youd only be 5.5mm taller which is insignificant.
  2. damnit, i was hoping for a sc4 :(. well, good nonetheless.
  3. you need to live out in the boonies like me where auto-experts are abundant. i have different friends who can fix virtually anything on any of my vehicles for super cheap prices. could have just asked here for directions on how to do the work yourself.
  4. thank god! i was wanting so much to not have to locate something unknown sucking too much energy from the battery. i havent driven it in a long time because the power steering pump needs replaced, ive been trying to sell my teg (which is now sold :D), and i had another spare car ive been driving. thank you all for your help.
  5. just checked on my sc and the battery was dead. the batterys about 4 months old and i havent driven my sc in about 3 months. battery took a charge and its back to life, but does my sc have something sucking the power out of the battery?
  6. for which car? also, care to show some dyno plots for comparison?
  7. btw, if youre concerned about how tall the tires will be (speedometer correctness) you can use the following formula to determine the height of the tires: width x aspect ratio = section height x 2 = combined section height + wheel diameter = tire diameter heres a stock example: 225 x .55 = 123.75 x 2 = 247.5 + 400 = 647.5mm
  8. but what does the torque curve look like? the torque curves of turboed and na/eaton-roots supercharged cars are noticeably different.
  9. why hasnt anybody thought of this yet? im thinking mostly of the plastic parts for like the 3rd gen bfi. just eliminate the difficult stuff and do the airbox modification yourself. hell, id be willing to pay some to get rid of some stress out of it.
  10. assuming stock hp numbers: 250/3200=0.078125 200/2825=0.070796 ummm... the sc has the power:weight advantage. lol, you owned yourself on that one :P.
  11. whats the speed limiter on the sc4? somewhere between 100 and 110 if im correct. with the somewhat high geared tranny on the sc4 + its cd + its power, hitting that speed limiter should be VERY noticeable and potentially dangerous at speeds that high.
  12. Is it just me or is this the exact opposite of what should be done? You don't cut fuel under boost! AHHHH! it COMPLETELY cuts it off. it doesnt reduce the amount of fuel.
  13. the new eclipse concept looks like a nasty wart covered bubble-!Removed!. just be happy emblems arent getting to be the size of vw hippie-busses.
  14. when you buy a clean headlight, make sure and give it a good resealing ;).
  15. there have been plenty of hybrid performance concepts (acura dnx / honda dualnote, new eclipse), but ill only celebrate when i start to see em on the road.
  16. my 92 sc4 has keyless entry but no remote key also. best bet is to go to a toyota or lexus dealer to get a remote key. i also have a lot of dash lights out and a foggy headlight. gonna replace the headlight and have my buddy check out the dash lights.
  17. how bout ya both just !Removed! to prevent this thread from turning into a pointless flame war? hm?
  18. if you just need shocks then just go and get some tokico blues for like $220. if the only thing bad is the shocks and your concerned about money, then just replace the shocks. if youre wanting to lower the car, throw on some eibachs with the tokicos. id only get teins if i were autocrossing.
  19. neither of those are exhaust systems; theyre just axle-backs.
  20. here are some of your tire set choices: 245/40 sumitomo htr z: $384 245/40 yokohama avs es100: $448 255/40 kumho ecsta 711: $300 255/40 yokohama avs es100: $476 265/40 kumho ecsta supra 712: $452 275/40 kumho ecsta supra 712: $440 275/40 sumitomo htr z ii: $476 these are just a small sample of whats available. the general rule of wheel to tire sizes is: 17x8: 245-275 17x9: 255-295 17x10: 295-315 the only problem is that i forget how the second number factors in.
  21. you saying that he probably swapped out the stock turbo for a ceramic ball-bearing turbo? if he did that, then he would probably say that instead of "stay on boost longer". whoever this kid is, tell him hes a dumbass for me :P.
  22. that boost staying on longer thingy is a crock of *BLEEP*. the only way to keep boost longer is to just keep the lead foot down longer.
  23. ive looked virtually everywhere to no avail.
  24. found some info/comments on capitol tires: http://www.cardomain.com/id/fstln165 http://www.accconline.com/CustomerPrograms...etricradial.asp http://www.cardomain.com/id/chrysler basically, capitols are some bottom of the barrel !Removed!-chunks.
