  1. You cant.... if you do you end up scratching the hood like what happened to me and i only payed attention to it cause my car is dark grey and 2 white long scratches are obvious! So i painted over it with the touch-up paint i have and told the driver that when he wants to clean the car he figures some other way <_< Really really stupid mistake by lexus!!!
  2. My car is an 08 and no the "I agree" button is still there :S :S...... Another thing that i don't get is how the Specs in the U.S. are diffrent on minor issues than the specs in the Arab Gulf, such as the " I agree" is still living large over here and the side view mirros have not been changed as the cars in the U.S.... O well! No biggie ! BUT take it from the cars i mentioned do not block out the navigation, because my family has a VW, Mercedes and an Audi and i know people who have BMW's, cadillacs and Inifinitis and land rovers. It's foolish the lexus system!
  3. Bro sorry but that was just careless! and if was your insurance company i would not pay you a cent! Really careless to drive with 5 bolts and not even make sure to tighten them! I hope your custom wheels now make you happy!
  4. Yes, they do. Not all of them, but many. I believe Acura and Mercedes are the only two that don't limit the use of those functions. No they don't.... Add to that Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Land Rover, Cadillac, Infiniti, Hyundai? I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and lexus is the only one compared to the ones who i mentioned who limits your use of the system.... Seriously i don't get this? the germans have a much more compliicated system in terms of navigation and how easy it is to type your destination, but you dont see them getting sued! Really i find it stupid that i have to press the damn " I agree" everytime i get in the car?
  5. For me really the choice was easy, i did not find the GS to be appealing at all, the interior is not as luxurious as the ES, not as practical as the ES and the rear as well as front spaces is too tight for me. The driving position as well was not very comfortable as i test drove both cars and found the ES to be my choice, i am 6'1 feet, so for me in the GS there would be virtually no space for the rear passenger but with the ES, there is plenty to go around. I also found the ES to have a more luxurious stance than the GS which had a more sport oriented stance, lets not forget the panoramic roof on the ES which gives it a very sexy look. For those who mention handling on a rear wheel drive is better than FWD, i dont know about you guys, but i dont drive like a lunatic on turns or curves, i drive a car with respect, so wether it was FWD or RWD does not matter as i am not going to be driving it through cones or going from 0-100 only to brake back to 0 again.
  6. I have not been on this forum long enough to realise that you are like a broken record. I thank god that you are not part of the design team of the lexus, the way you talk about your car is just........ ohhhh ! We get it, you personally think your ES has a more luxorious interior than the new one, hell maybe even better than a bentely, but enough already! Lexus compares the new ES350 to the old LS400 flagship and sights it as more LUXOURIOUS , powerfull and quiteter, they did not base the new ES350 on the old ES330 or ES300 !. Having allot of wood thrown in the car is old school, most german cars now a days no longer do that, design method changes, its not 1996 where one would say a car is luxorious cause it had wood all around the place. I mean seriously look at the 2007 Avalon it has more wood than a forest, but can you say it is more luxorious than the ES350.
  7. On what grounds did you guys base that the birds eye view was a better feature than the map? BMW use that but Mercedes and Audi dont, so why would you guys assume it to be a superior form of navigation and think that it will be intergrated into the lexus? The bird view is pretty to look it but from my own experience from my freinds 750LI its definetly not as practical as the map ones.
  8. Some Lexus dealers will give you a loaner car( usually a Lexus model), when your car is in for service. It's a free service! :) Yea but i would think that would be for only new lexus car not some old ES300 :S
  9. Great to see that the ES has the same drive feel to the LS, this fact only adds more value to the ES350. When you guys say "was given an ES350 as a loaner", you mean as in you paid to rent the car and not they gave you the car for free of charge? lol at the old ES having a better interior let alone better driving than the new one, but hey its oppinions.
  10. I said IF GIVEN the choice, which clearly means you get to pick between 2 cars based on nothing to do with reliability or build quality or whatever criteria you have, id go for mercedes. If i have a critieria to follow and reliability is one of them and MONEY is an issue, then sure i will go for the LS460. Otherwise i would not even have the LS on the list, would have an A8, 7-Series and S- class before mildly considering it. Now you get it?
  11. Look i got a lexus ES350 08 myself, belive me i aint dissing lexus but a Mercedes is a Mercedes, i dont give 2 cents what you people think, a Mercedes has a confident drive to it that most cars cant reach.

    Trac

I dont think you can turn the traction off.... You are better off checking with your dealership how it will be possible to drive over snow.
  13. Dont generalise BMW and MB are *BLEEP*, you cant possibly expect a CLS to be as comfortable as an S class. 2 diffrent cars, one is a sport and the other is the luxury. Also the BMW dealership you have is *BLEEP* and their cars have some serious problems, my father drives a 2007 750LI and we have no issues with it what so ever, crossed the 30,000KM mark like a charm, the BMW also has night vision which is a great feature. I am a Lexus fan myself, but dont say disregard BMW and MB like that, personally if given the choice between an LS or S class, i would not hesitate for a moment to go for an S class.
  14. So having the engine changed is not a dramatic change? Nice.... I have read the specific changes on the 2009 GS but i cannot seem to be able to find that website again, read that and then tell me the changes that will be done are not dramatic.
  15. Question does the screen black out as soon as the car is in D or when you go over a certain speed? Furthemore when exactly does the navigation entering block out, over which speed. any reply would help
  16. I have the answer for all of you. Both are correct, but it has to do with the lumbar position. If the lumbar is fully extended you will not feel the air coming out of the back. If you set the lumbar for no support you will definitely fell the air flow. Yes, they are not air conditioned seats, but ventilated, where a fan underneath the cushioning pushes air through the perforated leather. My dealership here in Roseville actually had a display showing this feature. You will feel the difference if the lumbar support is on max support or on no support. You deserve some sort of star for this reply. Very consice reply. Wish everyone here would follow your lead ! Thanks Allot!
  17. I find the 08 side mirrors much more attractive and it fits better with the car, the 07 side mirros were huge and stood out. Thanks allot for the picture though! Gratz
  18. Go to www.lexus.com They have the new specifications of the 2008, apparently the pictures they have of it might show that the side mirrors did get changed and made a little bit smaller.
  19. You miss understood me, i am saying in comparison the ES is better as you dont have to worry about any engine changes, compared to the GS300 ( in most countries other than the US, there is no GS350 yet, there is just GS300 and GS430) and there are plans to release the GS350 when the GS460 is made in production as there was no point in releasing the GS350 along side the GS430 as it will totally destroy the target market for the GS430 as the GS350 is more powerful in terms of Hp to the GS430. The changes that will happen to the GS therefore will be more dramatic than any change to happen on the ES350, please dont argue with me on this point, search online and you will read all the expected changes on the GS and once your done reading them tell me that what i am trying to say makes no sense.
  20. I am like you, i yet have not received my ES350. It will arrive on the 5th of september hopefully and it will be a 2008 model with the panoramic sunroof. I test drove the ES and many many many competitors, basically it was for me either an ES, Mercedes C-class or Audi A6 2.4 The choice from there was *BLEEP* easy, the ES had the highest resale value, had ALLLOT of options which the C-class offers in their high end C350 which costs $$$ more than the ES and the A6 2.4 while being a good car to drive, belive it or not the ones we have does not even have memory seats . So the ES provided me with all the options you would only get in a german flaghship, a panoramic sunroof (S-class anyone?) and just amazing quality. The light steering that you are talking about is common in all Lexus vehicles, thats what makes driving them soo fun and no if you go over 140 nothing will happen to you. I test drove the car till 220Kmph at it was great, the steering is speed-sensitive i belive so as u go faster the steering becomes little more harder and besides the car has traction, vehicle stability control, ABS, Brake assit and EBD. So dont worry about driving fast, lexus is not stupid to produce a car that might loose its balance over 140, before they produce any car expect them to have it go through some hard test under many conditions. I bought the ES350 Ultraluxury for 47,000$. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
  21. If your a fan of lexus then that eliminates the BMW. The diffrence between the GS and ES is rather simple, the GS is rear-wheel drive with a 3.0L V6 engine 245 horsepower 0-100Kmph in 8 seconds, while the ES is a front-wheel drive with a 3.5L V6 engine displacing 272Hp 7 seconds to 100Kmph. The GS is the sporty high-end lexus compared to its baby brother the IS. While the ES is lexus baby luxury comfort vehicle who's older brother is the LS. For me i choose the ES cause i found its looks more appealing to me and the comfort was an important factor as the GS has a much smaller interior cabin space than the ES and the GS is bound for a face lift anytime soon with their engines being changed GS350 and GS460, while the ES will have the same looks till 2010 and prolly a minor change in their front and rear lights at that time, but the good news is, it only has 1 engine. So really it is up to you.
  22. Could anyone who possibly has an ES350 confirm what i have stated?
  23. When they say " added rear personal lamps" do they mean adding to already existing rear lamps on the rear center and over the left and right doors? cause the ES we have here in the dealer already has 2 rear LED lamps in the centre controlled by the front and 2 LED lamps on both the rear doors controlled manually by the passenger.
  24. newlex i am afraid you are mistaken, go to Lexus.com and watch the video of them explaining the comforts in the ES they specifically mention the ventillation is through the seat and back seat :) and i test drove an ES here and it is true.
  25. I just reserved a 2008 ES350 which will be due to arrive at the 5th of september or before if im lucky. It has a panoramic sunroof in addition to the other features BUT i am not sure wether they changed the sideview mirrors or interior life, true that there has been word of this on yahoo but is it true? Surely if it is true my 2008 should have it but the guy in the dealership mentioned nothing about it!
