  1. Sounds like you have two issues here, electrical / alternator and fuel. First we need to keep fuel going to it before we can troubleshoot other things. Before you do the fuel pump, change the fuel filter, especially if it is original. It is inexpensive as well!! That has happened to me. From there you can get into more technical things if needed. Good luck!!
  2. The same sort of thing happened on my 99LS and I refused to go for the $300 part as the rest of the lock assembly was just fine. I purchased from eBay, a universal power lock actuator kit for $7.99 (including shipping!) and after about an hours time of adjusting and mounting in the door (drilled two small holes in the skin to mount) we were up and running even better than new, and now the unit is easily accessible should it need to be replaced which I could now do in about 10 minutes. I bought a spare actuator (same type of unit) off eBay for $5.99 should I ever need it! :D
  3. My 99 LS400 does the same annoying thing! Did a total flush of trans fluid with new Toyota Type IV and the delay seems worse, but no different than what others have reported. Oh well, as long as it is normal, I'll live with it!
  4. My local Toyota Dealerships are a rip off and want $72 a case!! Online places are $41-$44. It is the principle of it! Thanks
  5. Does anyone know where I can order Toyota ATF Type IV Fluid from? I have tried a few online places with good prices, but they email me back a day or so later that they cannot ship fluids. :cries: Any info appreciated! Thanks in advance Glenn
  6. Well........... making some progress here ........... Over the weekend, I changed the trans fluid (full flush), changed the rear diff oil, changed the PCV valve and air filter. Seems like my gas mileage has increased nicely. and the lurching from a dead stop is less or more controlled. It could be that I am just getting used to it as well, and feather touching the gas pedal!
  7. So far, I love my "new" 99 LS400. I've done some maintenance, repaired the bad radio LCD, installed mud guards, etc. One annoying "problem": When I hit the accelerator from a dead stop, the car lurches forward fairly harshly, giving an uncomfortable feeling. No, I'm not flooring it or nailing it at all, just normal acceleration. If I very carefully, gently like a feather accelerate, it seems fine. No, it's not the transmission or anything like that, seems more like the throttle is over sensitive initially. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment for this? I doubt that Lexus designed this car to have such an "annoying problem"! Thanks in advance! Glenn
  8. Pioneer radio part #: KEXM9076ZT Lcd part #: CWM5077 (looks better made than original) You can get them at: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com Good luck. Glenn
  9. I bought a smartkey on eBay for $22. To a local locksmith to have cut for $39. Programmed it myself with the directions that came with the key.
  10. Had to get the part number by pulling the radio out. Got the replacement LCD which was real easy to replace, and buttoned it up all back together, and all works fine! Good luck with your efforts~!
  11. Does anyone have the Pioneer Model or part number for the 98-00 LS400 Premium Sound head unit? My dealer gave me he Lexus part number but could not cross reference to the Pioneer number. Thanks!
  12. Hey DC, I'm looking for a replacement LCD for a 1999 LS400 Premium radio head. Do you have and if so how much. Thanks
  13. While on the topic.... New LS Owner here. My 99 LS400 has the Premium Sound System. If I upgrade to the Nak system, is it plug and play or more involved? Is it essential to change the amp and sub too, or can I do that at a later time and just do the head unit? Many thanks in advance. Glenn
