  1. Hello LOC, I have have my mechanic who are now very good friends, and they asked me if I can come on here and let my entire LOC family know whats the deal, they are trying to just atleast get rid of things because they are getting overwhelmed with the amount of things they have. They have a lot of used OEM parts for vehicles such as the SC series (I have personally seen a PLETHORA of SC parts maybe because the shop owner loves SCs?), LS series ES, and GS series. Their used parts includes Collision Parts Such as Bumpers Doors, Fenders, Hoods, drivers and passenger side mirrors . Wiring Harnesses Suspension Parts Interior parts Radios, Climate control systems Seats Exhaust system components Engines and engine components Transmissions And many more things, just Send an email to Fixedrightauto@gmail.com specifying what you would like along with contact information and I will contact them to find out what they have and I will let you know what is available. Local Pickup is welcome, Shipping may not be available for everything They may not have EVERY item but atleast give it a try and they may have it. Thanks LOC members! Just trying to share the info with my Lexus bretheren

  4. I have a 93 ls and it seems like all the lights on the dash work, other than those two I just shipped out my instrument cluster for repair, so I decided to take a look at these too since the halo was out. I unscrewed the bulb strip and actually saw that the filament was blown in both of the bulbs. okay, problem pinpointed, BUT now, what kind of bulbs do they use? AND how the hell do I take them out? do i just pull them out? they look like they can be twisted out but its not budging at all... does ANYONE know how to do this or has done this before? thanks
  5. the outside temp was maybe about between 25- 30 degrees and cruising at 80 OHHHH YEAH and by the way, the low coolant light came on too and I had to pull over and put some in there because it got bone dry. so after i put that in there, i thought it would solve the problem, but the temp gauge still dropped pretty low when I started back driving. i didnt cruise at 80 any more though, more like 65
  6. Hey I went on a nice run, maybe 80 or so miles and I set the car to 80 mph cruising. and the temp gauge got down to nearly C is this normal? I asked my mechanic and he said that isnt a problem. cars run better when they are cooler and more air is flowing through the engine. he said it would only be a problem when the gauge gets closer to H so... is this true? or does my car really have a problem like I suspected?
  7. so I have my car getting a tune up right now, what improvements should I expect? but more importantly, I wanna know what improvements I should expect in MPG? i was getting REALLY low numbers compared to many of you on here I was getting like 9-10 MPG city and thats on a good week. i see people getting like 20 and up here. how drastic would the improvement be? what other tips do you guys have for improving MPG? i dont think any thing else can be more expensive than this.
  8. Okay, I noticed a lotta people as of late having the problem with the fan bracket and I did too last week. my mechanic said its a lotta work to change it, they have to take out most of the parts that they would if I was doing a timing belt, and water pump change. my mechanic is like family though, so he said he would change the bracket for 425 which is half of what he would normally charge a regular customer so i said hey, throw in a timing belt and water pump while your at it... he said no labor costs for that job because he's already in there. then i said hey what about a tune up? he said just pay me for the parts but dont worry about labor. so heres a break down 425 for the bracket job (112 for the fan bracket itself or "water pump bracket") 313 for labor and 65 for the belt and 127 for the pump (normally 500 + job w/ labor) 315 for tune up parts (normally 450 with labor) 932 for that WHOLE JOB! im basically only paying 313 for labor for the whole works BUT what im trying to tell every one, is if you have to do your fan bracket, and I see a lotta people having to do those as of late, change out the timing belt and pump too if needed. it will save a LOTTA money for labor costs you may not get off as easy as me, but it would definitely cut some costs
  9. I really didnt notice, but upto a few days ago that I had no seatbelt, or door open indicator. could it be the bulbs in the reflector are bad or could a fuse be out?
  10. hey my friend had this problem with his LS last week, someone jumped his car the wrong way and put negative to positive and blew his alternator fuse that may be a possibility, another friend had the same exact symptoms about 2 years ago and it was also a bad alternator fuse, i suggest you check that first, its located under the hood just lift the fuse cover and look under it for the alt fuse location, then check it
  11. i need rear differential bushings for my 93 my mechanic wants 350 for parts and labor is there a place online where i can get a good set? ive searched and found a lotta stuff dealing with differential but not the bushings. how much would a set usually run for? can anyone give me any online stores that i can get them? thanks in advanced
  12. okay would it be necessary to purchase a lexus HID kit so that it can work? because I just remembered the guy who had his yellow lights running said he had a Lexus HID kit. or could I get any ole HID kit and it should work fine without any problem?
  13. wait so because they used a certain type of low beams, the Fogs wont work? do you know where you can get a relay? or how much it usually costs?
  14. ive had a quite a few people that I ran into at my lexus mechanic that say that the fogs dont run when the HIDS are installed... I saw ONLY one person with them running and he says that the person who did it knew a lot about them and a relay had to be put in or something like that.... but the person that does the installation doesnt like to do it because its " dangerous" maybe something is disconnected when the hids have to be put in i guess and thats why it doesnt cut on with the fogs
  15. I want to know if anyone has ever gotten their HID lights done on a 90 - 94 and also still have their yellow fog lights working along with it. If so how is it done? I want HIDS but everyone I asked says that they cant do it along with the fog lights.... Please give any info if any of you guys know anything
  16. please do that if you can, thanks, what do you guys think I should do first? my mechanic says if I cant afford all of that, just fix the real majors like timing belt and the tune up, all the clinging and clanking noises should be left for last
  17. yeah but what are some prices!! haha i need to know what do you guys think would be expensive on that list
  18. well i trust my mechanic because we have been dealing with him for years, he used to work for lexus as a mechanic then decided to open up his own shop, so he specializes on lexus my rear makes a clicking sound when you accelerate, at first he thought it was calipers but when he put it on the lift, he saw that it was the rear axle, I knew about the tune up and the timing belt service and he mentioned the control arms a while back, he hardly charges us much on labor because we are like family, but the parts cost is the problem
  19. my idle is also VERRY low, when I shut off my AC my rpms are really low and sometimes the car shuts off, whats that all about? my idle is always at about the second notch which i guess is about 400, thats not good, sometimes when i put the car in neutral or park, it gets down to less than 200, i need a fix for this, i forgot to mention it to my mechanic.
  20. hey I just came from my mechanic... I asked him to give me a run down of what I might need to get done on my LS... I want to know A) whats the prices on these items B) which parts should I go oem and which ones I should do aftermarket OR should i get some used parts from other LS400s. I need to be as cost efficient as possible. 1.front and rear upper contol arms. 2.differential bushings 3.2 rear axles 4. rear knuckle bushings 5. tune up 6. timing belt and water pump soon he said i should do the tune up first. then timing belt any suggestions? some of these things sound expensive.
  21. well darn it jcrome give us alll your secrets and tips u have the highest mpg ive heard
  22. someone!!! PLEASE TELL ME where can i find a chrome set of 98 rims!!! i have been looking for ages since my brother took his back so he can sell his LS.... I NEED THOSE!!!
  23. thanks alot, one experience i had was me filling up to a slight notch above 3/4.... (hey I was broke) and reset the trip and got about 137 miles.... i do not think that is good at ALL especially for how much gas this car holds Ianslexus, my method was basically the same thing as yours except filling ALL the way up I do use premium all the time, i could imagine how much faster it would burn if i had used regular.... does anyone even use regular? I only knew one guy with an sc 400 that used regular.
  24. thanks for your input people. imma have to go get my car checked ASAP... I see you guys saying that i probably calculated my mileage wrong, but what i want to know is what methods did you guys use? maybe using yours will make my readings more accurate
