  1. your head unit has to have an CD/cmp button for it to work if you have an pioneer head unit. There is a guy who sales them who belongs to this site maybe he can help you out. quote me back if interested and I will research his address so you can email him. I have an head unit but Im keeping it in case I ever sell my car. I have an after market system much better. JOhn
  2. its not worth even worrying about the stock its a crappy. crappy power look at the obvious. the car has 8 speakers and I have seen head units bigger than the amp and the power supply for the amp. Go after market cheaper and sounds better. Sounds so much better, like for an example cassette to CD.
  3. the controls for the changer is coming from your headunit, the amp has nothing to do with it. Its under the passenger seat, and has two plugs the smaller one is the amps inputs and the bigger one is for the amps output. Two screws hold it in place. seat comes out with four bolts easy coming out easy going back in. Do not forget to unplug your harnesses under the seat for the power control. opps sorry about that quoted the wrong guy. You already know this.

  6. I got the install done thanks to you guys everything came apart and went back together smooth. MY wife is so happy she has her Cd player and system. Also a big help is that crutchfield sends instructions on how to take the stuff apart. System sounds remarkable.

It wasnt that hard either it just took 6 hours to do if you want more info just get back with me I willl help you as much as I can. I'm a new guy in this site i want to pick up for the experienced ones with the information. Let me tellyou the new after market system sounds so good. It worth the money. MOst of your questions has already been answered in past forums. Go aftermarket the difference is like vhs to dvd.
  8. if your RCA cables are not high quality and too close to your power wire to your amp this will cause this problem try to seperate them. Then check your ground connection. to insure tightness.
  9. A good rule of thumb is to match your rms of your amp with your speakers rms. Then they will perform at thier best.
  10. I just want to say thanks. I feel like a jackass for asking questions that has been already answered in other forums I went thru in 2 days and read them all on stereo questions for es300 almost all my questions have been answered. I feel real confident now with the help of all of you. Again thanks JOhn :P

  12. what did you do with the speakers in the dash and the tweeters I would like to hook them up to the stereo deck just need the color wires is at the dash or are they at the amp. Is the amp powering all the speakers. Do you know what colors is the plug in back of the stock unit for the power , constant power, and ground, and antenna turn on? Thanks for your help.

  14. Thanks a bunch I ordered all the stuff from crutchfield catalog they sent me directions with pitures for the dash stereo and door speakers and the rear deck 6x9s. I will agree with you its alot of work. Proper planning will make this install alot easier. I have installed stereos my self in my other cars but this one is the most complicated because I dont want to mess anything up. I'm going to email you and look up that website you mentioned and see what they can do for me. Thanks a bunch. JOhn
  15. This is John Thanking all of you for replying to my topic all your advice is greatly appreciated. I'm going with the aftermarket equipment for audio after pricing lexus stuff. Much cheaper! Also the wife thinks its pretty the new deck, so she is happythats all that matters. I have a new topic if you guys could put your inputs in.
  16. Hi its me again from Orlando, I appreciate your advice on a preivious topic. I have a couple of more questions I could use your help. I just want to say this is a great website. I went with the after market stereo and amp and speakers for the 95 Lexus ES300 for my wife. first: question is Im having a hard time finding a wiring harness for the after market stereo so which wires of the harness plug is for the power, constant power, and remote antenna wire and ground? The second: question is what wires are for the the dash speakers and those tweeters by the mirrors. also the door speakers. I just want the the polaritys right + and - so they will sound right. I would be powering the dash and tweeters off the Head unit power. Is the wires from the deck or the amp. Or is the amp powering all the speakers in a factory setup. I would like to use the factory wires so I dont have to run new ones to me that would be easier. Or is it worth it using using the dash and tweeter by the mirrors at all. Third: question the factory amp is under the passenger seat right. could I use the existing power wire and ground that goes to the factory amp. My new amp is calling for a 8 guage power wire, is the factory wire that big? If I can use the factory wires what colors are they? I got a amp wiring kit just in case. The equipment I got is a blaupunkt cd player, Us acoustic 4x65 watt amp, Infinty kappa 6x9s and polk audio DB 6.5s. If anybody could help I greatly apprciate it. So I can finish this install on Xmas break for my wife.
  17. Hi my name is John and I live in Orlando fl. My wife really wants a Cd player in her car. I have been looking at after market and cant find a piece of matching wood grain to fill in the gap where the huge factory one is. Im a new member and reading alot of the inputs of others I didnt know about the amp the car has already. My existing stereo cassette player says lexus premium sound system and has a button for CD/cmp that means a changer controls right? If so where do I look for the changer I coundnt find it in the trunk on the left side . should there be wires there, if so where at, and does it have where I could just plug and play. Another thing she would like to have is a little more bass. I could put a amp in but how would you hook it up to that monster dash consuming stereo? Im not trying to out bass the kids just want a better sound for her. Thats all she wants for Christmas and I told I would grant her wish I could use your help. One more thing big question should I gut my system or use what I got, I like the existing system sounds good and alot of speakers too. I cant find a changer anywhere except the dealership but that is alot money the car is a 1995 so I dont want to put a arm and a leg because a new stereo cost 2,200 dollars to much for me. Again I appreciate your help if you can. Thanks JOhn
