Hi Guys, I apologize in advance if this topic has aleady been covered. I tried searching but couldn't find answers specific for my questions. When purchasing my 2007 IS250 w/out ML package, I chose to decline SAT radio. Recently became interested in Sirius SAT radio and would like to know what is involved in this. I would like it to be installed just as if the dealer installed themselves; stock shark fin antennae usage, touch screen button usage etc... I do have the 'AM SAT' button. What do I need to purchase? Any recommendations where to purchase? What is a decent price? What will be required in installation? Is installation through the trunk, or Nav system? Estimated hours of installation? Thanks for the help!!!

Unfortunately the Bluetooth stack in Android does not support opp so you can't transfer contacts. Android 2.0 will support Bluetooth 2.1 which has opp, but unfortunately the Verizon Droid is the only phone that supports Android 2.0. i found a fix to this using an app, 'bluetooth file transfer'! awesome!

I've found the answer! The knob to adjust the dash brightness level was set to highest. Once clicked down a notch, the issue was resolved.

Last week I got a car wash, and ever since, the navi wont go into night mode when its dark. Is there anyway of fixing this? I check the navi setting but couldnt find anything. Please help?

You know it's funny, I just noticed this on mine also the other day. TBH though, it's not a quality issue. It's a high PH issue in your body oils and persperation. It can have a very high alkaline content, and eat right thru chrome over time. You should see what a finger print will do to a gun if left uncleaned! So I was thinking about getting an after market shift knob that was all leather, or maybe a leather carbon fiber combo one. I haven't even started looking yet. Any plans on where you might purchase? Let me know which one you choose.

For a while now, the chrome on my shift knob has been slowly deteriorating. It make me a big angry that my Lexus shift knob would be painted w/ such crappy chrome. Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe warranty will cover this?

Got the G1 a year ago, but haven't figured out how to transfer the phone book from the phone to my car via BT. Anybody figure this out yet?

Hum, after my 2nd tank, I average about 29mpg on my freeway and about 26 when mix w/ 40% local and 60% freeway. I drive about 60-75 on freeway, and the locals are just locals... I assume you are using prem. gas?! Andy Yes...91

okay i have some ideas and want some input. How about installing a computer in my car? I could keep it in the trunk and install monitors in the front. What can i do about power consumption. considering the computer would be about $500 what would cost be for everythign else? what about mounting a lap top? where would i mount it and still be able to have a passanger? help me think. I hate ppl that tail gate!!! i never do it and believe that its evil. Is it possible display the rear view camera while driving regularly just to see how close the punk is? i accidentally put the car in reverse while driving once and nothing happend but the camera turned on!! i was suprised and impressed. Lexus safety features. but i dont want to make it a habbit of doing so. send those ideas. dvd console using nav screen. the computer idea or dvd player using the nav screen? possible? after market switch but who cares!! that'd be awesome. any reccomendations you guys could make or new ideas would be awesome. lets just type, read, and discuss.

i have a 6.1 nave and heard that someone had a dealer disable the gray out or block features when driving. Is this true? does it void warranty? anybody think of anythign yet? i dont want to void warranty and dont feel comfortable cutting wires in my car. also what about a way to watch dvds from my nav while driving, w/out ever having to buy the ML package? I know its possible but give me your input on what it'll take. after a while who knows. i might not care about the warranty and just go for it.

In my is250 w/ premium package and navi my mirrors do not dip or angle downward when i go into reverse. I heard that they are supposed to. Does this mean they are broken? Also i heard of a button to have the mirrors fold up. I cant find any type of button anywhere. Please help!?!?! i dont have ML or AWD. thanks!!!

Ive heard that i shouldnt let the car idle to warm up, but that the same time i was always taught to warm it up or its no good for the car. Which one is it? does anybody have any documentation from lexus? I need proof. Im tired of wives' tales.

i read about it on another forum. Im assuming this is when the headlights turn along w/ the car, correct? I dont really notice mine. Should it be a considerable amount that i can easily notice? is there a way to test? how would i know if they are broken. also... the light beams seem to make a line on the road that are not completely parallel. its not by much but its just not parallel. Is this bad?

Well, I'm driving in LA traffic as well, but the opposite direction. I'm going east bound/out of LA so the traffic ain't too bad. Maybe I will just wait out after my first 700 miles and check on my mpg afterward. <_< As of yesterday, after I drove more than 300 miles, the dash says I'm averaging 22.4 miles. And that's very light on the gas paddle, but I'm trying to be easy during the break-in period after reading posts. Even my GS400 gets 24miles after 6 years of driving, so the new IS concerns me a bit. Andy my is250 AT started off getting 19mpg. Tank avg was about 21 mpg. i drive in heave traffic constantly but even when i drive freely w/out stop and go i get about 22mpg tank avg. Sounds like we suffer from the same problem. after 2500 miles im getting 22avg and 23.5 tank avg. its getting better but not by much. As far as those posts saying they get 27-29... how do you do it!!!!!???? is something wrong w/ my car?

when i have the door open it beeps like crazy. its especially irratating on my IS250. My civic wasnt nearly as bad. Is there anyway of turning this off?
