  1. Subscribed for the front spoiler fix! I'm in the same boat! +1 on the trunk strut replacement! I went with an old one, and went to Auto Zone and found a generic similar one for about $25 each. Took about 10 minutes total to replace both of them...
  2. Is there really a trans filter element to replace, or is it just a screen filter that has to be cleaned? I can't seem to find a part number for trans filter, or trans pan gasket? I flushed the fluid in my '93 SC400 at 100k, but would like to do it again at 120K. I have a case of T-IV ready for the flush... Is there a need to change the filter, if there is one, and how often for filter changes, or screen cleaning? I had the flush, and supposedly a filter change at 100k miles. The mechanic said there was no gasket, so he used a thin bead of silicone. No leaks or problems for the last 20k miles. Can't get in touch with that independent mechanic, as the shop has since closed down...
  3. Just found a better thread... SC400 wheel fitment guide Still open to comments and pictures of 9" fronts would look like though!
  4. Another very late reply... B) I've finally worn down the tread enough on my stock tires, and ready for the wheel upgrade. My heart is still set on the Evo's, and I've found a place that sells them. Question remains on the width for 18's... I'd love to go with 9's in front & rear, but not sure if that will fit up front... I know the 9's will fit in back, as the dealer is suggesting 9's in back and 8's up front... The picture of the dark SC400 with the Evos, does anyone know by looking at the photos if those are 8's or 9's?

  6. thanks for the reply Jason! Did you DIY? Do remember if there was A separate solonoid replaced at the same time? I love my SC400 too! Mine just crossed 115k miles, and this has been the first hicup. I hope To do this repair myself. Any one know of a thread on replacing the starter?
  7. So did you replace just the solonoid, or the starter too? I'm facing the exact same issue in my SC400. Is the solonoid closer to the starter or battery, or is it an all in one style component?? B)
  8. Where is that brake booster line located? I'd like to try the Sea Foam treatment...
  9. I assume you can't see the leak. You might check the plastic coolant reservoir in the front of engine compartment. There is a level sensor which screws into it and sometimes cases a crack in the reservoir. Put a little soapy water on it and look for bubbles. Just an idea. My exact problem! Where does one buy a new plastic coolant reservoir, as I can't seem to find this part online? Is the rip off dealer parts department the only place to get one? :(
  10. Can I add life to an old post?? Anyone share photo's of their SC400 with some 18x8's or 9's or even 10's? I wanna go 18's but would like to see some pics with staggered or even same size front & rear. I like the HP Evo's, but totally open to suggestion! Thanks!! Patrick
  11. Just for reference, check this source out... Lex parts online. No affiliation, I'm new to the forum and also searching for different economical parts sources!
  12. Try the Falken 451, or newer 452. WAY stickier than the 512/912 series. Excellent in the rain as well. No affiliation, but try edgeracing.com for the cheapest price on the net! For those with bigger wheels, try the Hankook RS2. UNBELIEVABLE grip for less than $100 a tire. I've run both on my '85 Porsche Carrera. I just purchased a '93 SC400, but haven't changed out for bigger wheels yet... Still lookin'!
  13. A late reply LLS, would you share with me the width, and offsets, as well as the tire size your running! I'd love to duplicat that clean look you have!!! Where's the deal's these days on the Evo Wheels? THANKS!!
  14. I may be way off on this one, so anyone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong! It's been some time since I've worked on a water cooled car, but I would fill the radiator. Start engine with cap off, and wait for thermostat to open. Then I would slowly run engine rpm up higher and higher and continually add fluid to the radiator as the higher rpm's would lower the visible amount of fluid level in the radiator. I would do this until about 1000 rpm's short of redline, then place the radiator cap (sealing the system) before decreasing the rpm's. Alway's worked for me in the past!
  15. Wheels look sweet! what are they, and what size?? Thanks! Patrick
