  1. ok,Im almost certain that im buying rims. Car:1996 white es300 the rims are coming from rimsone.com and they are motegi DPK chrome 18" http://rimsone.com/catalog/product_info.ph...8}19{6}74{11}73 Heres a better picture of the rims: http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?image=l...=DPK+%2D+Chrome The wheels im getting locally b\c my uncles a dealer, and they are Fulda Cara Extremo;s. Its a german brand, made by goodyear. Ive read good reviews on it,and they are Zrated at 149+ the size is 225/40/18 heres a link to a review of them. http://www.tyres-online.co.uk/tyretest/fulda.asp So its gonna be $520 for rims, 115 for shipping and insurance, 40 for tuner lug nuts. and 510 for the tires with fere liftime balance, rotate, and flat repair, and also free mounting and putting the tires on. Total:1185 or about 1200. What do you guys think? i will see when i put them on if i will be able to drop the car another inch without rubbing,b\c i checked with motegi and these rims should fit without any problems. Lastly i will get anywhere between 50%-35% tints, and im done. So what dso you guys think!?
  2. so where does foam filter fall into place into all this. i heard its better then the rest but just needs to be replaced more often...?
  3. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. This topic is covered DAILY.
  4. ok does anyone know how i can go about tightening my handbrake? it doesnt grip till the last like inch. Do i have to get under the caro r just take the center piece of or what?
  5. ok i dont know if ive told you guys but ive changed the PCV valve, i am getting jsut a little bit better gas milage,bt i think i figured out why.could this be causing it.... atleast 70% of my friving is either 13 minutes or less. during the week i drive to school thats 7 minutes away and then after school i drive back. then i work 4 times a week which consistds of driving 13 minutes there and 13 minutes back. And also to school i have atleast 4 stop signs and since im hurring i drive more aggressivly, but most the time still dont take past 3k maybe 3.5 k and so pretty much the only time i drive longer is on weekends maybe. I think thats what the problem is!!
  6. from my calculations i need to check if i have 1.882 inches of room, so thats like .941 inches of room to each side of the wheel\rim?
  7. ok does anyone know? i woudl do it myself and check but i have NO idea where to start or what to look at,i roughly know what each measurment means but im not positive.
  8. hmm i mean ive looked and looked and i cant find any other rims that look like these
  9. ok so ure saying i shoudl be fine with minimal rubbing with a 1 inch drop and getting thse 18X8 rims?
  10. for everyone wondering: well the tire size is the two avauilable choices i believe the 215\35 and the 225\40 hmm offset ill check.... ok the offset is 40 and the bolt pattern ican get in what i need 5 X114.3
  11. i was gonna jsut ask SK but i decided woudl ask the rest of you too jsut in case you know from experience. http://rimsone.com/catalog/product_info.ph...products_id=209 ok i wanna get rims and i finally found good ones. I need to know, would these fit without problems? the only reason i ask is b\c its 18X8 i know alot of people have X7.5. Will i have problems? and also will i be able to still drop it an inch or no? thanks..
  12. well i dunno,i mean im gonna just use my intake and prolong it. im gonna take out the plastic thing and put my filter head through there.
  13. whic wire is the maf:) but im not giving in that much ,im not gnno put my stock intake back on! its either leave it how it is or extend it to a CAI. so my questions simple, do u think it will still be good with a homemade pipeing?
  14. heres the question, how can i make my short ram into a CAI. I dont know any metal benders or anything but my thoughts are just buying a stainless stell pipe big enough and a bendy pipe at home depot and buy a bypass valve and thats that. hows that sound? so SK u think thats good?
  15. hey 1995 es300, SK is one of the most reputable members on this board,we mightdisagree on a topic or two but he helps with everyones problems so !Removed!! But refering back to the question, pretty much you can get a short ram intake and risk the lose of a little bit of power but the gain of mpg and a throutier sound, or you can make your own cold air intake. Otherwise another comprimise is to drill holes in the bottom of the plastic box of your filter, that should help alot too.
  16. i dont undersstand what short ram has to do with carbon deposits. But im not saying ure not right. I thought a couple 100mph runs would remove carbon buildup too.:)
  17. hey bartkat, its not "ricer" b\c 1. i dont say it makes my caar super fast 2. youy cant hear the sound except for really jstu in the cabin or maybe 2 feet away from the car when gas is given. I fu noticed my other thread i asked for advice and i got advice and im working on it as u can see, but obviously when i put it the weapon R my MPG IMPROVED for about 2 months and just recently has my MPG been going bad,but ichanged the filter so its not that. So obviously the intake is not the problem,so stop giving bad advice. Atleast SK is jsut giving his opinion and backing it up, and not just flaming.
  18. also u said that hole that is there from the outside is lik blowing cold air at a hot turkey in the oven with a straw, well guess what the regular filter was trying to power the whole engine through that straw. So i cant see how the fact that the engines load is much less trying to get the sme amount of air compared to breathing hotter air can even be compared. again maybe im wrong, just tell me what im saying wrong..
  19. ok,i know we have different opinions. What do you mean by carbon problems... plus dont a few 100mph runs fix that anyways:) I love the sound though, and the new torque curve it creates and the better response. EVEN if i do lose up just a couple horses, with those advantages im willing to take that loss. What do you suggest? They dont sell CAI for the es300. i can get metal pipe and make a homemade CAI but the airflow wont be as good obviously with it, and plus ill need to buy a bypass valve, AND on top of that since the filter is foam it will belike *BLEEP* in the rain i think. I will prabably not gain any horses with the homemade CAI b\c liek i said its homemade ,and not professianlly like u did urse, but on top of that i would lose the better response.
  20. lol,yea SK you mention it on every topic i put up well spark plugs where never changed but my dad said to not touch them or else you will run into big engine problems as soon as you replace them. How often do they need to be replaced? My dad is a really good mechanic but that was back in RUSSIA(country where he was born) where cars are different,so even though he can fix cars good alot of experiences and stuff he bases his knowledge off of is on way different cars. So thats why im asking you guys. where is the fuel filter and how much can i buy it for?
  21. well i have a Weapon-R short ram intake. SKperformance hates it and says its *BLEEP* but i LOVE it. there is an increase in power, and SK cant say there isnt when i actually have it, and the sound it produces is amazing. go to the weapon r website and you can order it thee i believe, look for a lexus one but if it doesn thave it then the camry same year is the same.
  22. Ok pcv vavle replaced. Looks like my idle went down from about 900 to about 800, maybe im wrong though. I just filled up a full tank of gas and i was getting 15.5 MPG so ill see what i get this time around.
  23. oh ,and ive already ordeed pcv vlalve and i think im picking it up today, and i will get a tranny oil change soon enough. also my belt is squeeling, not really loud or anything but if u open the hood youy can hear it. i applied some spray on belt dressing that i had in my garage, it helped for 1\2 a minute then back to the squeeeling. Is there something i can do? my car stands outside int he winter and my dad says its b\c of the winter it squeels, that the change from cold to hot all the time made the belt dryer or w\e and squeel but the belt is still fine. is this true or do i need a new belt soon, all ask my dad when and if he has replaced the belt.
