  1. Hey what's up, i got one of gs fog lights and took some pictures on what you need to do. fog light rear http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/users/40fe778a_11...h3SvFBBZVUip2ob]FOG LIGHT REAR OPEN://http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/users/40fe...LIGHT REAR OPEN just pull the one fog light out, and in the back, is a cover where you can unsrew and remove the bulb. you can probably get the bulb at your local auto parts store ore the dealer. good luck... it's a !Removed! to get the fogs out.
  2. hey what's going on. i have a friend in japan that could find you some jdm headlights that has the clear lens all the way around and the yellow amber inside. about the body kit, i have the jdm admiration kit which is the equivalent to the u.s. spec titan kit. only difference is that my front bumper only takes the jdm fog lights which i have installed. the u.s. kit only fits the u.s. fog lights.
  3. hey what's going on and welcome to the club. many members have asked the same question. if the yellow build up is on the outside, the i recomend a good polish/wax like macguires or mothers to remove that nasty yellow film. I personally use macguires hi tech yellow wax to remove mine... and let me tell you, it does wonders. they shine like brand new now. so instead of buying new headlights, you can simply clean the outside. now if they are on the inside, you're probably better off buying a clean set of headlights. one of the breathers on the housing is not working correctly and lets in the dew and stuff like that which will set in the inner lens. that or you can take it apart and clean them out yourself. the choice is yours. good luck.
  4. that is true, but it's all up to the driver if you want to go all motor, show, or both. the lag with turbo will only bother the driver if he likes to push the car. with the turbo. i wouldn't want to bother with a supercharger... the turbo setup is good enough for me... plus you have to think of gas too. but like i said, it's simply preference.
  5. i like turbo because i like the blowing off. very agressive sound. like i say, it's a preference thing.
  6. well if he's got the cash, by all means, let him do it, but if you got the hookups, then it's all good too. but the ge and gte are two great motors. fmax the ge engine or get the gte swap. that or you can get the gte head with all components and swap it out with your ge head. it will bolt on to the block. then you don't have to worry about a total swap... but you gotta change out the tranny too, that or reinforce the valves in it.
  7. not to be a party pooper or anything, but i think those rims would look better on a mercedes benz... or like a caddy. but that's my opinion.
  8. personally i would go turbo on the car. there are a couple of turbo kits out there but the one that sticks out the most is fmax turbo kit. fmax turbo kit but if you're down for your car, get the 2jzgte engine. twinturbo is twice the fun my friend, besides, that's an o.g. engine in japan that was taken away when our cars were brought to the states. that's a toyota aristo (lexus gs300) from japan with the twinturbo supra engine. yes my friend it's stock. so i'm all for turbo.
  9. lots of questions my friend. welcome to the forums and congrats on your new buy. this is a pic of my aristo with a dvd screen. the only hard part of the install is making the plate. that's about it. now you had a question on what powers the speakers. your amp powers everthing but the head unit. sub, mids, and tweeters. about the security code, can't help you there, but would suggest going to lexus because i think they would need your vin number in order to help you out with finding your security code. your stock amp is locating in the trunk under the flaps next to the passenger rear quarter panel. this is a pic of a brakatk's stock amp that i had bypassed to upgrade to new amp to power his new sub. here is the finished product. so his setup consist of the stock amp to power his speakers and a sony amp to power his sub. doesn't take that long if you know what you're doing. if you're going to just get an amp, it's going to be more work and not plug and play. i got the dvd head unit and powered all my speakers from the head and had a dedicated amp to my sub. it just depends on what your preference is. i'm all for the nakamich setup i have already. the setup i have is perfect and my stock sub puts out all kinds of bass so i'm set.
  10. glad to hear that it all worked out fine with your lights. i'm always out to help fellow gs owners. enjoy your new clean lights. just remember to keep doing that when you wash your car. eventually they'll stop yellowing. mine did. they just stay clear now.
  11. after i get my jdm headlights, i'll get rid of my u.s. spec for cheap... so i won't have them sitting around. what's wrong with your lights? let me know what's up. my headlight look old...the lens turned yellow...when should you be getting your jdms??wheres a good place to check out parts for these cars??? hey what's up. when i bought my car, the headlights were yellower than *BLEEP*. all you have to do is get a good polish like mcguires or mothers and buff it out. do this a couple of times and your headlights will be clearer than before... and i mean clearer.
  12. you can adjust the ride height with coil overs. personally, i don't think it's worth putting on coil overs because the ride is so rough. i'm all for the stock ride which my car rides like a dream on regular intrax springs. but that's my opinion.
  13. i have intrax on my first gen and it rides like a dream. i'm still on the stock struts and loving the stock ride. so i couldn't complain on my intrax springs.
  14. after i get my jdm headlights, i'll get rid of my u.s. spec for cheap... so i won't have them sitting around. what's wrong with your lights? let me know what's up.
  15. the headlights are still u.s. spec. the fog lights, tail lights, wing, and body kit are jdm. i'm still waiting on my jdm headlights. they're pretty pricey now a days. but after that, the whole exterior is pretty much jdm.
  16. well i don't know if it's retarded to kit up your car. i like mine kitted up. makes my car look mean. plus the toyota aristo conversion will get more points at car shows. about the cold air intake... i have no idea...
  17. the clear corner ones are jdm and should be glass. then there's a two piece headlight set from the uk that also has clear corners. they're pretty expensive right now. my friend in japan is trying to hook me up with some but are a bit pricey. brand new ones cost 600 bucks and i've seen a site with the same lights going for the same price.
  18. hey hector, i was checking back on your post and sounds like your deal is more complicated. well since you don't have an upgraded head unit, then your rca preouts are useless. on top of that the only way you can hook up your amp is to "jerry rig it". either that or find an amp that has a 10 channel high input connection, but they don't make such things. the hook up i did on brakatk's system was quite easy. all i did was take high input signals from the rear speakers to receive the radio signal so i can power that sub. that's how it is in my car and let me tell you, both our cars rock hard. with a nice rich base line from the stock sub. it's not impossible for what you want, but it would be nice if you did have rca pre-outs.
  19. hey what's going on. i just did an amp install today for a fellow club member (brakatk). so you want to change out the stock amp with a new one eh. a couple of questions, are you using a stock deck? or trying to use the original deck and just use a new amp? the job i did today was hook up an amp to the stock deck. about a two hour job. here's a link to the pic: this is a pic of when i started to splice into the stock amp to get a signal from the deck. if you know how to install stereo's, then it's a snap, but if not, i don't recommend fiddling around with the wires.
  20. i have intrax springs on my gen 1. i think i purchased them at about 200 bucks from a performance shop. it's been a long time and 100 bucks to lower. i'm satisfied with these springs for they still kept my original luxury ride. but that's just me. there are other ones out there but i'm rolling on 19in and does not rub for anything.
  21. honestly, i think you can pull 16 psi no problem. since the 2jz-ge has a lower compression ratio than the GTE, you'll be alright. now 18+ is pushing it, and 21+ is overkill. Think about it, this is toyota's pride and joy engine. bottom end are the same in both blocks with the exception of the compression ratio. these engines are able to take about 600hp without heavy modifications. i'm working on slapping a custom turbo kit and put out a goal of 450 hp daily driver. i have a friend in florida that's an expert in both lexus GSXXX's and toyota Aristo's. He owns both.
  22. hey sam, i've owned my GS3 quite a while now and it has never gotten any kind of water damage. in fact, since i replace it, it noticed that the area is bone dry... hmmm... where did you hear this from?
  23. oh yeah, don't be discouraged about the "toyota" signs. just a little JDM crash course for you... Lexus GSXXX = Toyota Aristo these are images of my car with a toyota aristo conversion. Very unique and it gets mad brownie points at all car shows.
  24. if i'm right, there should be two fans besides the one running from the block.
