Looks like they are moving in the Acura MDX styling direction. I'll keep my 08, thank you.

Sometimes a low spare tire will set it off. Check the pressure in the spare.

When the moonroof is tilted the air flow from the interior flows upward and right past your olfactory lobes. When the moonroof is completely open the air circulation is far more violent and complete so the odor may not be noticed. I'm surprised that nobody has suggested that you check your fresh air filter behind the glovebox. Other posts have indicated that this is sometimes a problem. Do a search of this site for "odor", "smell", or "stink" and you'll be surprised what comes up.

I don't want to be a wet blanket but do a search of the RX300 forum to alert yourself to mechanical conditions that MAY arise. After doing so, taking the RX to a well-respected independent mechanic for a diagnosis of potential problem areas might be a good move. It is a good looking car and it obviously functions quite well presently. Keeping it that way right from the start is the goal.
-
That is absurd. Try the service department of another dealer or an independent shop. I have left the RX for weeks at a time without a problem. Unhooking one of the battery leads and then seeing if it will spark when touching it to its terminal will tell you if there is a significant draw or short somewhere. Just be aware that some items may need to be reset when the battery is hooked up again.

It is good for the oil change interval stated in your car's manual. There is no reason to extend beyond that to save a dollar or two. An engine rebuild on a Lexus is absurdly more expensive than what you would save by extending the oil use until it is totally worn out and contaminated.

If you have a "towing package" then the special junction box is unnecessary. All you need is a harness from Lexus (or Toyota) for about $80. If you don't have the towing package then whatever you plan to tow had better be fairly light and the towing done on flat ground. There are directions for removing the cargo area here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mp;#entry254728 No one on this site has mentioned that the rear seat needs to be removed to put in a junction box.

Gs430 Won't Take Gas! Triggers Pump Shutoff

Check out this post for an RX. Maybe the dealer does something to cause the problem. At least you're not alone. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=34522&hl= -
Removing The Cross-bars On The Top Rack?

Try this post - last entry. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...p;hl=roof+rails You'll be sure that the rear rail plastic covers will break but they don't in my experience. There are some other posts with more detailed instructions but I can't find them with the LOC search engine. -

Try this link: http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/ind...p;TempYear=2006 NAPA also sells Wix filters under their brand. Take in the Wix number and they will sell you a filter identical to a Wix filter.

Occasionally they are on eBay but usually only as a set. Here is a link to a seller that sells used ones individually. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-Toyot...9QQcmdZViewItem Another possible source is a Toyota dealer. Just be ready with the part number.
-
You should install it yourself. You should use a genuine Lexus/Toyota hitch since it has the electrical connection already wired if you have the "tow package" option. The Lexus hitch looks better as well. See this post for more details http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mp;#entry254728

Go to the Tein website and get the stock number of the springs you have. Then check the stock number of the IS250 springs. That should give you the answer. Another option is to call the company and ask the same question that you asked here.

Ohhhh Noooo - Glue-on Brembo Brake Caliper Covers

These would be hard to see through spinner rims. -
Hmmm. Inside AND outside wear together is usually a symptom of low tire pressure. 32 psi is at the bottom of the recommended settings and help to make a more spongy ride. My OEM Michelin tires are set at 36 psi, checked monthly, and seem to be wearing evenly and functioning well. Hopefully, your new Michelin tires will do the same. Try a higher tire pressure and see if you notice a difference. Gas mileage might also improve a bit. Others on this site have had negative experiences with the Goodyears as well. Try doing a search and see what comes up.
-
Hopefully, you got a four wheel alignment along with the new tires. Otherwise you will be back for another set of tires after 30K miles. Inside tire wear is an alignment problem and the place that sold you the tires should have recognized it and alerted you to the problem. The suspension system has nothing to do with it (unless bent in an accident) since the alignment could be set to have the outside edges wear first if that was your preference. The tire dealer should have told you that as well. Good alignments at a good shop do not come cheaply. Check locally to see which shop has the best reputation. Find a Porsche owner or two to ask since they seem to be the most picky about alignment. I'm not so sure that "most" owners get less than 30K on a set of tires. The Michelins that came on my RX are holding up quite well.

If wax on the black plastic is a major concern for you then try TurtleWax ICE wax. It actually make the black plastic look better. Others on this forum will denigrate ICE wax for various reasons but it will work for your purposes. In addition, it goes on and polishes easily so waxing more often is not so much of an issue - especially in California.

<<<<<This reply was posted to your question on the other post that you responded to.>>>>> Another possibility may be that the car's filler tube has an air leak. The body shop may have loosened something, not tightened up a clamp, or something similar. In California, the gas pump will shut off if a vacuum is not present when the gas is being pumped. A work-around is to pull back, or compress by hand, the accordion-like rubber sealing device that is on the gas pump nozzle. That disables the vacuuming device. For example, that is the only way to successfully fill up gas cans. So your experiment should go like this. Put the gas pump nozzle in the filler tube as usual and run it until it shuts off. Then pull back on the rubber sealing device and continue to pump gas. It should fill completely up. Be careful however, the tank may overfill and gas might be spilled. There is a back pressure valve that usually prevents this from happening but a bit may be spilled anyway. If a filter leading to the gas tank was clogged the backup would be right away and this method would not work. Then you'd know it was something stopping up the fill pipe.

Just Bought A 2008 Is350 Black/black
GDixon replied to HSK's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Good question. You know, I asked that same question when the dealership emailed me this list, but for the life of me, I really don't know what the F stands for. Maybe "Features". When the manager at the dealership contacted me to let me know that they would be recieving an IS350 in the color combo that I wanted, I requested them to email me a list of options that came with this vehicle so I would know whether or not to waste my time and gas to go see it. This was the list they sent me. On top of that, I got them to throw in a set of All-Weather Mats, as I am obsessive about keeping my cars clean. :) The "F" designation refers to a code name of an experimental performance Lexus from Toyota several years ago. Lexus decided that it would be a great handle on a production car and apparently they plan on more models with the "F" insignia. I believe it is Edmunds that goes into the whole story. http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/isf/2008/review.html http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/...rticleId=123125 -
Who told you about a 30 day maintenance? Unless it is an extra courtesy by the dealership it shouldn't be necessary. It is also a bit too soon to do the personalized settings before you really know what adjustments need to be made. Older cars used to have a first oil change at 1000 miles but it is not necessary anymore with the improved manufacturing specs and superior oils. I have heard, but cannot confirm, that the original oil in a Lexus is specially designed to break in the engine over 5000 miles. My 08 RX350 went 5000 miles before the first maintenance per owner's manual and the service department. Also, the 5000 mile service is complimentary (free).

Just Bought A 2008 Is350 Black/black
GDixon replied to HSK's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
It is a pleasure driving this vehicle, but I have to constantly remind myself to take it easy as I am still breaking it in. My daily commute seems to go by too quick now, and I find myself debating whether or not to take the long way to places I am going as well as trying to think of new places to go in this car...lol. I turned on the PWR mode today for the first time and I was like wow, this really changes the attitude of the car. Engine roars a bit more and overall feel of the engine is more aggressive. It feels as if the different settings can make it make it feel like a different car altogether. Anyhow, here are some quick shots from my garage. I'll try to get some better shots in a parking lot or my driveway next time. If I buy an IS-F do I get a clean garage like yours to park it in. Jeez, nobody has such a nice clean garage like in the pictures - well, maybe one person. I guess you don't want to park such a fabulous car in a junk pile. :P -
Did a search on LOC of "Sarasota" and came up with several complaints about the dealership by disgusted customers. It appears to be a trend with that dealership. Maybe the other posts will help when dealing with Lexus Customer Satisfaction. Search: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ite=%2BSARASOTA
