  1. I am starting to hear some noises in the dash of my 2006 GS. IT sounds like a vibrating/ rattling noise from inside the a/c, it's driving me nuts. I took everything out of my center console and glove box to see if that was where the sound was coming from. My car has almost 65,000 miles on it, and this is the first odd noise I have heard. No door problems.
  2. After twice replacing the Dunlop OEM tires on my 2006 GS 300 due to them waring down quiclkly and a terribly rought ride (one time the dealer split 50/50 with me, the next time I had to buy them), I put Goodyear Eagle Repsonse Edge Tires on my car... at 27,000. The car was transformed. It drove quietly and much more smoothly than with the OEM tires, however, when I took a turn hard, drove in the rain, .. the tires gripped the road very well. I now have 64,000 miles on my GS, with the SAME SET OF TIRES... which are now ready to be replaced. I would highly recommend these tires. On another note, either my shocks are going bad or my suspension is failing, as even a small ripple in the road makes nosie and a slight shudder.
  3. My 06 GS 300 came with Dunlops. Replaced them at 12K paid for 2 dealer paid for 2.. then 15k later needed new tires. I bought Goodyear Eagle Response Edge VRs. Just got back from a 2500 mile trip, the tires were great.. quiet, great wet road traction, great dry road handling.. best of all, they come with 50k mile treadware warranty!!! The Dunlops did not. Basically the OEM tires are ultra high performance tires, that are actaully over rated for the car. I do not think we wil hit 146mph in our GS's, so why do we need a W rated tire for for about 170mph?
  4. I went with the Goodyear Eagle Response Edge. Just got them so can't really comment, although the ride is smoother than I can recall, even with the original Dunlop 2050's. Quiet too. When I picked up my car, another customer noticed I picked up the response edge, and told me that he had them.. to wait until it rains, then hit a turn hard (for driving in the rain) and see how well the car performs/ sticks.. he has them on his Maxima. We'll see... I have also had strong recommendations for the Bridgestone RE960 Pole Position AS from a couple people I spoke to. The techa t the tire store told me that Lexus put tires on the car (2006 GS) that well exceed the limitations of the car, and that was a mistake from the beginning, on Lexus' part.
  5. I always wonder.. why would someone want to purchase an extended warranty at the beginning of your new car financing? You are getting 4/ 48k for FREE, but when you purchase your extended warranty up front, uyou are now paying fo rit the first 4 years you own your car. You can usually get into an extended warranty ard 40K miles and save some $$$. Correct me if I am wrong, I may be mis-interpretig the whole thing
  6. Can anyone point me in the right direction for new tires for my 2006 GS 300? I had the dealer replaced the stock tires at 13k miles (split cost 50/50) with the same Dunlop SP 2050s.. of course, we all know that those tires stink. I am ready to replace those tires now, actually got 17k miles out of them, but had to endure the terrible noise from cupping, as I could not justify shelling out more $$$ so soon. Are the Goodyear Response Edge tires good? Yokohama? Toyo? Please help... thanks
