  1. Hey man, things like this just "happen" When I got my Sc300, I havent really had any problems yet, well except for a few of the normal things like bushings. My Sc has been doing well so far. You just got unlucky. Hope things look a little brighter for you man! B)
  2. Sc's have license plate lights? My Sc300 sure doesnt, and neither does my friend with an Sc400.
  3. yea, I get the "pinging" too. All sources point to the cat. I believe the noise is the catilytic convertor cooling down.
  4. the torque convertor gives you a better feel of gained power. and plus the $750 price tag from Lexus Pros is I think one of the best prices out there, I think if you were looking for more of a fun car to drive starting from idle, this is the mod you want.
  5. not really end of the story yet, there is a way to re-wire the foglights so that they are on at all times (you control it) go to this website and read around, you'll eventually find it in the Sc300/Sc400 FAQ section. It should be toward the bottom area, not all the way, but in that direction, good luck! link : www.intellexual.net
  6. everything..gogogogogogoogo. anyway, even if you did just get the rear Supra TT shocks you'd be way lower at the tail (roughly 1.3 inches I believe) the TT shocks lower you about 1.5 inches all around and the eibach Supra springs lower you another 1.3 - 1.5. so yea, in the end, you'll be lowered about 2.5.
  7. the SC is a sport luxury coupe...what do you think? insurance for the SC is HIGH. my quote not even under my name, but under my moms name as the primary driver was 4grand a year!!!! we went with liability for 900 a year. but even that worries me as if I get my car messed with or stolen, its over, nothing backs me up. and if I ever get into an accident and its my fault, the insurance pays for the other parties damages, but does not pay for mine. I have to sort of watch where I go, and drive extra careful, but Im sure its better than shelling out another 3grand a year. Maybe in a few years, ill go with a full coverage plan if there are any promotions. hope this helps. oh yea, I actually live in Southern California, so we're pretty much in the same spot, at one time or another.
  8. there are pics of an aluminum dash kit floating around on these forums, you must use the search feature! :P
  9. intake, header, exhaust, complete flow! no restrictions! then an s-afc 2 and tune to perfection!
  10. If you have a 1995+ Sc, the foglight switch is the switch on the inner area of the "stick thing" of where you control your lights (parking lights, sidemarker, or auto) sorry, my directions suck...kind of hard to explain.
  11. anything is possible with the right amount of money. i wouldnt suggest you to try this. it will be very draining for you, literally in every aspect imaginable.
  12. this is what i know from clublexus, one of the lighting guru sounded pretty damn positive about the no existing glass headlights, only high beams.
  13. jetlee84, unless you are getting the 8000k's for coolness, i do not suggest that application. if you want for the best look and output, i'd go with 6000k. My Sc has 5000k hids right now and i love them. and i do not think glass headlights were ever made. best thing you could do is just buy a brand new set or 2 or 3 or 4 to last you a while. good luck!
  14. if you could find out the bolt pattern and the offset to match with our cars' specs, then they're practically on!
  15. oh boy...man...why do you need lcd screen in the headrest? your car isnt even a 4 door, they arent even close to cheap; well you could try your chances on ebay and get scammed but we wouldnt want that now would we. :whistles: and no mufflers and cheap rims for you son. remember, you drive a lexus, dont downgrade yourself because you're feelin cheap, if you didnt want to spend money on mods and maintenance, you shouldnt have gotten an SC let alone a 4.0. hope you learn something from this, it'll save you much embarrasment. B)
  16. 20's are "perfect" for body kit applications. 19's are "perfect" or close to perfect for everything else. i'd hate to say this but..18's are too small for the SC. the SC's wheel wells are huge.
  17. wow..clean foglights and headlights...great 5speed! and only 60k miles on the odo.! :)
  18. then ask around. go call the actual companies and ask them if it could be modified to fit your specific car. if not, go with bfi, best bang for the buck. and if you do it right, with some creative taste, it would look beautiful!
  19. yea, you could have some extra space by removing the cd changer and/or amp. this may not seem to practical, but for people who are major weight junkies, it is a really good idea as the front of the SC is freaking heavy.
  20. you can upgrade your 95 tail lights to 97+ only thing will be that the turn signal will blink as if it were on steroids. i believe you'll need a resistor to help with that problem. and yes tail lights can be smoked out, but i really doubt it will look good, especially on the 97+ tail lights. maybe on the 92-94, and maybe on the 95-96, but please do not smoke out the 97's. good luck.
  21. www.takakaira.com there you will find the 92-94 style tail lights modified in the red/clear look. i forgot the price, but it is not cheap.
  22. you are crazy if you think people sell convertible kits. if you want to convert your car to a convertible, hard or soft top, it will definately be a custom job. there is a place in newport beach in southern california who does such a job. soft top starts at 15k i believe and hardtops start at 40k. good luck pahtnah!
  23. just crack that badboy and get in there! good luck with the dirty headlight.
