  1. DAILY DRIVERS:

I've heard alot of people losing their low end torque (via SOTP dyno) just by adding a higher flowing catback system with their stock engine and were very disappointed.

Just beware that although advertisements claim HP gains, that only occurs during wot. This was an expensive learning experience for me. I've changed the exhaust with new catback systems on 2 of my old cars with stock engines and lost my low end power. I hated it so much I put the stock exhaust set-up back on.

Is it possible that you had free'er flowing exhaust piping? maybe 3 inch piping? anything over 2.5inches for our 3.0 straight six's would be too big and we WILL lose low end torque. I've known people who went with 2.5inch piping on SC's and love their mod very much. B)

  2. first of all, get the lexuspros ECU upgrade, thats a 30hp GAIN right there!! after that, go ahead and get some cheap mufflers and bring it to a muffler shop for some custom piping. Now that you've got the exahust and ecu covered, go for the intake, BFI is the way to go; the link has got to be around here somewhere. You should be expecting 50hp with what I just advised you to do...GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND AND KEEP THOSE MODS COMIN!

  3. whats up guys, yea they look awesome, my first sidemarkers cleared were a 6/10 success/satisfactory and I already have someone interested in buying them. My second, third, fourth sets etc...etc... would look even better now that I know what I need and know what to do. I have a picture but it is not from my car, so I'll see if I could post it up. Since I only have 1 set of original sidemarkers right now, I'll need some of you to ship me your orangef markers and I will turn those around to you. Kind of a pain in the butt if you ask me...

If you want to take this DIY upon yourself, just say so and I'll give you both pieces for 15 bucks shipped.

if any of you are on aim, catch me on xoticsc and I could show you picture there in private, we could also talk about the sidemarkers.

  4. I also made my own with custom polycarbonate plastic, I have a few more pairs just sitting on my desk waiting to be siliconed to some freshly dremeled sidemarkers, I'll give these to you for 35 shipped and your sidemarkers in return. contact me @ suprastyle86@yahoo.com

  5. no everything jsut plugs in but something about the wiring isnt right or something and the tail lamp out  light in the dash lights up, but everything works fine. its just annoying to look at.

95 = 96, plugs for 95 - 00 are same. It is plug and play unlike the 92-94 which had different lighting layout. IMHO, 95-96 has the coolest tail lamp.

slightdev, im going to have to disagree with you, the wiring harnesses of 95-96 are not the same as the ones from 97-00. on the 95 tails there are 3 tail lights, and on the 97-00 there are 2, not big difference but whatcha gonna do ;P

jk man, just letting you know.

jzz30, all you gotta do is get behind that cluster and take out the bulb :P

  6. sorry, im going to make this quick with no care for grammar.

yes its possible, i have a set of tail lights chilling in a box in my room ready to go onto a car (not my car, not yet, its at the shop cause of accident =/)

but yea, all you need to do is take off the plastic trim where the trunk closes on, rip out some carpet (not literally rip, but you really gotta pull on them to get them off from the little yellow wierd plastic screws)

after the carpet is out of the way, there are 4 bolts per tail lights, feel around with your hands, you'll eventually get them. there are 2 parallel bolts and washers on each side of each tail light. after the bolts come off, there is a white connecter that is keeping the tail lights connected to the car (you gotta pull on these things real good, and some cursing might come out of your mouth :censored: )

after that just yank on the outside of the tail lights where you see the seal that is stuck to the car. after that everything is reverse, HAVE FUN GOOD LUCK!!!!

  7. Filters are filters, they all basically do the same job at the same flow. Everything you are worried about is in your head. trd, k&n, blitz, they all do the same thing. if you're cheap, go with the k&n, if you want a tad better flow, im sure the trd or blitz are designed a LITTLE bit better.

Just a l different way to see things, this basically goes the same for many modifications that are made for your car.

  8. I get this problem too.

I just want to get the real issue addressed.

So is it the tc slipping, or is it the ecu? I just had my car diagnosed this past weekend, the mechanic said he cleared the code but my trac off and engine light just came on again and went off toward the end of the day.

I am actually a little bit afraid it is my alternator, alot of the times when I have left my car just there for maybe more than half hour, I get back and turn the key, I get nothing, second time is usually a charm but this morning it took 5 times. My mechanic could not find out what the problem was. Do I need a new battery? what is happening to my power?
