  1. I have a 200 LX470 and want to convert to bluetooth. I have contacted Bluetooth Valet and your are right. I want a bluetooth conversion module that can be pluged into my existing phone cradle plug which will then work with any bluetooth phone. I have done the change with Bluetooth Valet, my phone and DVD player both work now while the car is in drive. It is a simple bypass of the break system in the car in which they just unplugged a portion of the loom and put a jumper over to allow the phone system and DVD to work. Mine works great, I purchased the unlock service for $300 after they set up my Bluetooth in my car which I paid $100 for initially through the dealer.

  3. I recently purchased my IS350, I have had a couple of the 250's as loaners while my car was in the shop having work done on it. I will tell you that I noticed a huge difference between the 2 cars. The 250, while a very nice car did indeed lack power. It seemed necessary for me to drive it in the steptronic mode in order to get even the slightest bit of performance. The AWD option is a great option and living in Oregon you may need it, is that why you want the AWD? I had an AWD car while saying in WA (on the San Juan Islands - lots of rain, dirt roads and gravel), I will say that as far as stability goes, I was very satisfied... if you are looking for an AWD for need, stability and safety, your choice is made right here. If it is "performance" you are after you may not be happy with a 250. As far as the Mark Levinson/Nav, when I bought my car it was a very difficult option to find on a IS350 (don't ask me why...) but anyway, I know that the stereo in a car is a huge deal to me and the ML was an absolute MUST for my purchase. I will say that it is by far (light years ahead) with regards to the stock stereo. It it matters to you spend the extra $ get the 350 and your ML. Then you will have your 18" wheels too. Oh... one other suggestion, join Costco and request a quote on the car through their buying program. I did it that way and was able to save a considerable amount on my car, I paid $41,200 (before t/l), my car sticker showed around $46K. Once I got my Costco number their dealer was not able to get me the car, so I went to other dealers and told them what I had in writing from the Costco offer, they were willing to beat the deal to sell me the vehicle. Best advice I have for you is go test drive both of the cars... do it more than once in different weather conditions if you have the time and the patience to wait... your choice may be easier once you have had the opportunity to do so. Best of luck on your purchase!
  4. 1. no the car will not automatically turn off, my husband has walked into our back yard and left the car running in the drive way. Now, I don't think that the car can get miles from you and the key though, but I have not tried that one yet... 2. Yes you can program your car to automatically lock the car for you, see your 100 lb owners manual. 3. I looked at the HKS exhaust, I eventually wound up with the GReddy, love it. Can't answer the rest for you, don't plan to do CAI, car is fast enough for me as it is. 4. I have a phone number for a person who knows the NAV in and out, I can see if I can get the answer for you, or I will pm the number to you when I get it out of my car. Congratulations on your purchase... hope you love yours as much as I love mine!!!
  5. Last week I paid a service to come out and unlock my phone and DVD for use while driving. While the person was here working on my car they showed me how to use the voice command to input addresses while driving, by street, number, and city. I asked them if they would be able to unlock my Nav but that was not an available option.
  6. Okay... you may be on to something, could be the invention of the century. A key ring that will help one find their keys when they are lost. I for one absolutely need one, I am forever loosing my keys. Glad you found your key, that would be a pricey loss for you had you not.
  7. I tinted my tails, looks great! Know anyone that works at a body shop? They can do it for you, very little materials. Other wise, its a blend of clear paint and black paint. You spray it on and color sand and polish them until you like the shade and they have a nice glossy shine to them.
  8. On and IS350 to get to get the ML you have to get the NAV and it has to be on a car with a Luxury package. The XM Sat radio comes with it, and is complimentary for 3 months. Just picked up the exact car last week. I had a very hard time finding a IS350 with the ML in it as it is the top of the line IS with a sticker north of $45K. The website is useless, even the dealers will tell you that. Anyway, best of luck!
  9. My husband used to be a Director of Operations for a dealership in Santa Monica, CA, so he has been on the inside of that business... Most of them don't know how to properly order a car, nor do they care... they are worried about the ones they already have in stock. Now one would think that if thats the industry you work in every day for most of your life you would be able to learn it after a while. And though this is not a hard and fast rule, a majority of "Sales" associates at a dealership don't even know their product, nor do they care. My first test drive in a Lexus, they guy had worked there less than a week... I knew more about his car than he did. As for the Sales Managers, move existing units... ordered cars don't go in this month's numbers... its all about that month's numbers. I watched my husband suffer for years with this, about 3 days before the end of the month, it was like PMS on steroids. For each unit moved (over a certain threshold) they receive a concession (a discount on future ordered vehicles), then there is dealer hold back (which is $ paid for each vehicle that is sold on a monthly basis after the deal is closed - like kick back $). Then there are the flooring fees, it is like a monthly lease payment to corporate... that costs their bottom line. The longer a car sits, the longer they pay, the less profit that a particular unit will generate upon closing of a deal. The major profit in most dealerships is made in the Finance Department and Service after the fact... they all have monthly goals and the automobile business is a very vicious one... you don't make your numbers, they blow you out and find someone who will... and so on and so on. Believe me I squaked and squaked about the Black on Gray... I wanted that combo, every dealer had a different story, they don't make that unit, it will be 4 months, it will be 3 to 6 weeks, you'll have to wait for the 08 production and so on. I finally relented and went for the black on black... its beautiful but the gray would have been just off the charts! My husband had to remind me several times why I would not be an easy car to obtain... I had all the time in the world but didn't possess the energy to fight the battle. All that being said, I absolutely love my car... I got lucky, it was 99.9%.
  10. For any of you who are interested, I found a service that will permanently unlock your Lexus Nav with out voiding the warranty, I found them through the Lexus dealer where I purchased my car, they did my bluetooth integration, Lexus called it Concierge Service. They are going to do the unlock for me for $300, well worth it for me since I have absolutely no desire to rip my car apart myself. Also, they do a full Ipod integration as well for an additional charge, that one is a little high in price but if you do unlock and integration together there is a discount since they have already pulled the head unit out. The unlock will allow you to use the phone, watch dvd's and do any other grayed functions you would not normally have if the car was in drive. Just thought I would let you all know.
  11. I went through the very same thing. I wanted an IS350 Obsidian/Gray with Lux, NAV, ML, HKS, Ground Effects... haha good luck. Then I decided to opt for a Obsidian/Black, not a snow ball's chance of a dealer trade to get that one so I spent a day on the phone calling all the local dealers, and low and behold on about my 8th call I found 2 of them in Mission Viejo. Not only did they have the car but they beat the original price of $41,500, and I got a pretty good deal on all the goodies I added. Persistance pays when trying to get what you want, and if you have your heart set on ordering your car you will have to search for just the right dealer who will (1) do it and (2) know how to do it right.
  12. Do your homework, you can always order your vehicle but you will have to take the time to find a dealer who knows how to get you what you want. I had a very hard time finding my car, I went from dealer to dealer and heard the same story every time, car is rare, its not available, 4 to 6 months to order... then one day I got fed up, got on the Lexus website and called every dealer that I had not already visited, after 8 or so calls I hit pay dirt and found the exact car I was looking for. A lot of dealers are not willing to order because they would rather push you into one of the units on the lot, they don't want another one in inventory when they have ones already to sell. Take your time and don't settle for something you don't want. I was specifically after the ML stereo, it only comes with the Lux pkg with NAV... top of the line car. They tried to run the same BS on me and I walked away from several deals, I would have waited and ordered it had I not found it on my own. If you stick with it and take your time you will get what you want. Good Luck!
  13. I just picked up my Black IS350 on Tuesday, I was quoted $470 for the 3M clear bra for the entire front end and mirrors. I think that I will be doing it. I do a lot of freeway driving and my last car was just hammered, but it was a light color so the damage is not all that noticiable. For those of you that are on the fence, think about it this way, how long do you plan to keep the car, what did you pay for the car to begin with, and what is it worth to you to keep that $40 to $50K car looking pristine. Anyway, just my $0.02... :D
  14. I just picked up the same car on Tuesday IS350 with LT (luxury pkg NAV & ML) car was $41,400, before all the other goodies.
  15. Having it put on car some time next week. Will post pics for you when I get it back.
  16. Has anyone done this to their IS? I have an IS350 with NAV/ML, wondering if it will work???
  17. Just bought my IS yesterday, cost on kit was $1995 (a little higher than it is listed on the website) but the dealer cut me a deal on my exhaust and black chrome wheels so it all came out in the wash.
