  1. Thanks Phil J. I know what you mean. I did see the XM letters on the left side of the Nav screen. It was grayed out. So i would assume that if I am picking up traffic then I will see the XM highlighted of something will happen. I guess I just was in an area where the signal is not available.
  2. I activated my Trial XM subscription and I can't tell if I am getting Nav Traffic or not. The radio works adn Nav traffic is available in my Zip. I called tech support and they are really useless. They can't explain to me what the screen looks like when I get Nav traffic. Do I have to do something, like press the INFO button? or does a traffic pattern appear in the NAV screen? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Hi to all: Just purchased a certified 08 LS460 with 30K miles that had the valve springs replaced as part of the recall in 2010. Everything seems perfect. Anyone had any problems after the springs were replaced? Anything to worry about going forward? Thanks
  4. OK, Thanks Steve. I thought about that but then I would think there would be a difference (even if slight) in the Map graphics on screen but they look identical. I guess I need a later version to see changes.
  5. I have a 2002 LS 430 and I upgraded the GPS from the data dvd 2001 v.1 org DATA dvd that came with the car to V4.1. The system is recognizing that the DVD is v 4.1 but nothing has changed. The maps, POI, addresses that are available are all the same. On the screen that shows the version of the DVD it says call you dealer for map info. So by replacing the data DVD V4.1 that does nothing or did I forget to do something? Also, how would I upgrade the maps to go with DATA v4.1 without going thru a Dealer? I also tried ejecting and reinserting the dvd several times but nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. I could not get the homelink to work for me as well and then I found a post here that did the trick. I can't find the original post but I kept a hardcopy of the instructions so here it goes. The key is to sync up a Homelink button and your garage remote first and then the homelink and the actual opener. This was the key for me as the instructions do not tell you that nor the dealer. First clear all the previous codes in the homelink. (as described in the owner's manual), then... 1. Hold down the button on the remote opener and the homelink button u want programmed. Once the light changes from a slow blinking light to a rapid blink, release both buttons. 2. Go to the actual opener and press the learn button once. Within 30 seconds, press the homelink button u programmed 3 times and it should work. Good Luck!!!
  7. I have just purchased a CPO 02 LS430 and it is quite a ride. I just have a question I would like an opinon on. The car is extremely quiet but while cruising down the highway (never heard it when stopped) there is a cracking noise I hear say 3-4 times on a 20 mile trip. It sounds exactly like a pebble hitting the windshield but it is coming form the interior of the car. It is not that loud but it is noticeable. At first I thought it was exactly that, road debris hitting the windshield but it happens too often for that. Anyone heard anything similar? thanks
