  1. I too am having this same problem. Any info would help. Thanks!
  2. Is there any way to "lock" some of these photos onto the forum. This topic is a great idea but it doesn't really work when all of the pictures have been taken down.
  3. I have a 98 GS300 and I hear clicking when I turn left and only when it's sharp. I also cannot pin point where the clicking is coming from. To me, it's coming from the engine bay. It started happening when I switched my summer wheels with my winter ones. Any ideas?
  4. Do you happen to have the part # for this plasitc piece? Mine is coming off as well. Was it hard to replace?
  5. Is it still available? Do you have any pictures?
  6. I just want to clarify something... the bleeding pattern on the LS is the same as the GS models then? Also, what is the difference between DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids? Thanks in advance for the assistance. :)
  7. I've been told the SAME thing and I completely agree with downshifting and disagree with braking... 1) your manual suggests it and 2) that's what your tranny is made for. You gotta figure when you pound on that gas pedal, you're putting a lot of stress on your tranny anyways, what difference is there going the opposite way? Your engine only revs so much and your tranny was built to handle your engine speeds. Now that's not to say you want to slam it into 2nd gear at freeway speeds - just be smart about it and it'll be fine. I was taught that you slow down using your tranny and I've been doing it for years and I've never had ANY problems with my trannies on any of my cars. Just my 2 cents...
  8. We're in the same boat! ;) We just sold our Subaru Impreza Wagon and bought a '98 GS300. We LOVE it! It's peppy when you need it to be and it's really comfortable. Gas milage on it is not as good as the Suby though. One of the best things about this model Lexus is that not much changed between '98 to '05. So anyone that doesn't know any better thinks we've got a newer Lexus. :whistles: And just as an FYI, we bought ours with approx 125k miles on it and it still runs like a new one. Believe me on this, we test drove a lot of GS300s before buying this one. We even saw one that had over 200k miles on it still running like it was new. Suby's are great cars but you definately can't go wrong with a Lexus. The only problem for us now is we don't have AWD. :(
  9. Doja, This will help you.................. You owe me a beer WOW! This is awesome! Thank you! Now... do you wanna do it for me? jk! It looks complicated. I almost want to say to hell with doing it myself, I'll just pay someone... it seems very time consuming - something that I don't have much of. :P Great help though. At least now I know what I'll be getting myself into if I do it myself. Thanks again! P.S. This should be a sticky (if it's not already). Sounds like I'm not the only one with this problem. :\
  10. I'm having the exact same problem. In fact, I was just getting ready to create a post about this issue until I found this one. Have you taken your car in to the stealership yet? If so, what did they say it was and how much did it end up costing?
