  1. I'm kind of bewildered that the Camry and Highlander are included, but not the ES or RX. Which means that they use a different parts supplier for the Japanese built cars.
  2. Are you really sure the trunk light goes out when you close the lid? I mean are you really really sure? And how about the fact that when you buy a new car you have to find the switch and set it so the light comes on because when the car is shipped as is the light never comes on even when you open the trunk lid. Then you have to go on a car forum and make a thread that you have a defective trunk light that doesn't come on, only to find out that in the owners manual there it a little part that tells you how to set the light switch? Shouldn't someone already set that switch or at least show you how to do it before you drive away in your brand new excellent Lexus? But then I can't treat my car like certian people who get married knowing how their partner is and what they do, and then !Removed! about it for a years after all the while trying to change it, OR rushing into a marriage and then discovering all the BS afterwards and then blaming them for being the way they are. And yeah, the light definately goes out. I put a video camera in the trunk, closed the lid, then waited a few minutes and then re opened the trunk and played the video back. The light Definately goes out. Why not just look thru the ski pass thru?
  3. That is NOT the "only" way. What are you suggesting? I'm interested in hearing what you have to say. I'm "suggesting" that putting on your seatbelt turns off the light every time.
  4. Seriously, dude. You can either belt up or suck it up. Are there any modern cars out there that let you turn off the seat belt idiot light?
  5. Check the spare. Then search for "TPMS" on this site. There is no sensor in the spare.
  6. If it's still under warranty, make an appointment, get a loaner for the day, and have the dealer check it out.
  7. Just get a Garmin with Bluetooth--much much much cheaper, and no need to pull your dash apart
  8. It won't hurt your car, but will probably hurt your mpg. So the $$ you save per gallon will probably be lost in lower mpg. Do the math--it's like $100 extra per year if you drive an avg amount. Why pay $10K more than the avg sedan price, and balk at $100/year in gas?
  9. OEMs were Dunlop or Potenza RE92's. I wouldn't get either. Look at the best sellers on Tire Rack--some for much cheaper with much better survey ratings.
  10. How many miles on the tires? Does it make sense now to replace all 4? You can get a great upgrade from the OEMs for much cheaper.
  11. The original guy probably didn't check to see that you had the Dunlops, and assumed you had the Bridgestones OEM.
  12. I have a Genie Excellerator--it definitely has a learn button. It's at the rear of the unit, facing the floor (I'm able to press it without a step stool using a screw driver)--I have to pull off the light cover to access it. Mine actually has a couple of controls right there. If it's called "Intellicode" then it sounds like it has rolling codes (unlike old units). If it has rolling codes, it must have a learn button. It took me a while to get the programming to work. I ended up having to put fresh batteries in the Genie remote--then it worked immediately. Have you seen this site:
  13. You know what happens when you assume... It was not standard in 2007, nor was it part of the Lux Pkg; and I don't think they offered Sirius in 2007 either. But 2007+ all came with the sharkfin, regardless of whether there was SAT.
  14. Look at the very first pinned thread in this forum: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25999
  15. I would tend to trust a tire shop, considering that's what the do all day long. I will say, though, when I blew a tire last year, the dealer had the cheapest price for the replacement--plus a free Lexus loaner!
  16. It's pure profit--that's why they can offer it 1/2 off. And--they can't "not" charge sales tax--that just means they are charging you even less, and ajusting the price to take into account the sales tax.
  17. The American model has never had parking sensors standard.
  18. It seemed to me you were asking if you don't take out the mats, would you have a problem suing Lexus in the future. I apologize if I mis read your inquiry.
  19. This isn't the place to be seeking legal advice. Bartkat's right--if you are worried, take them out. I've had my car 2.5 years, first with the carpet mats, now with all weathers--no problems. After the announcement, I looked at the mat placement--with the hooks attached, it is IMPOSSIBLE for my mats to get caught on the gas pedal. The top of the mat is just too far away from the pedal for this to happen.
  20. replacement pads work the same. if your pads are too worn, they will NOT replace them for free under the TSIB. The TSIB works like the warranty does--items in need of replacement due to normal wear and tear are not covered. Just an FYI... It really depends on the dealer. I just took my '08 in for another issue, (broken wheel and destroyed tire from road debris, but that's another story!), and while it was there, I asked if they could do the brake TSB. My car has a little over 13k on the clock, but they warranted the pads anyway. They did advise that I have the rotors replaced, but I opted to pass on that, at least at the dealer. Well, of course they did. 13,000 mi on your brake pads is not near the normal replacement time.
