My dad used to drink to like that stuff. LOL!!!!

Yeah, got info on that car? What does he have? Any pics?

When you put the new bulbs in did you make sure they were "seated" in the openings? Take the silver plug back off, then take the 2 spring tensioners back off and slowly spin the bulb in your finger tips in the opening to make sure the bulb is in the correct position. Then but the tensioners back on, and do the same on the other side. Let me know what you find out with this first. ( we'll eliminate the easy stuff first.)

So much for flowers & wine. I was hoping for a Lady & the !Removed! moment. OOOhhh, well you said Twister, not eating spaghetti. That's a totally different event.

OMG.... ok, that's funny... I've been w/my family all week & not a drop of alcohol yet... shots would be nice & fast across the street. We'll see how long I can hold out... Real friends don't let friends drive drunk,,,,but they do let them get plastered and let you lean on them for the walk back.

maybe,,,,,,probably not,,,,,,just interested in the bench mark I have to keep up with. See, the Is 350 presented a nice quagmire. If an 05' IS 300 and a 07' IS 350 line up, and the IS 350 wins, then everyone says "shyeah!!! the IS 350 is faster of course!!"- But if the IS 300 wins, then everyone talks for weeks about how they saw this 05' smoke a new IS 350!!" So now, I have to see what the new IS-F is all about. B)

Is Twister considered a "sport"?? Oh yeah,,, only, when I play we have to install turn buckels on the corners. ;)

Need A Little Advice From The Resident Experts
smooth1 replied to ACEindaHole's topic in 01 - 06 Lexus IS300
What you have here, is a quagmire. Higher mileage with a lower price and some "prep parts", and on the other hand, lower mileage, with a slightly higher price, but comes stock. Without my being able to look at the car myself, inspect the undercarriage, drive it, look at the body, then refer to Kelley blue book and NADA, my gut says go for the lower mileage. 22,000 miles is almost 2 years of additional mileage. That's alot. Although both are below average mileage for the year of the vehicle. So I would look at the owner then also. If your buying from a private party I would talk to the driver of the car. try and get a feel for how they treated the car, etc.etc. If you buying them from a dealer, I would carfax both cars. In fact i would carfax them anyway,( 20 bucks and you get a good grip on the history of the car.) How many owners, where the car was purchased and when, ( Which can play a big role in mileage. If a 2001 was bought in late 2002 as the new model year came out, then you have the reason the car has alot less mileage on it. And not that they just drove it less.) And if any insurance claim damage was ever done to the car.) I just bought a 2005 IS 300. When I was looking I purchased the 30 day unlimited carfax bundle. I looked at a Charcoal 2005 IS 300 from a private seller. He said the car was in perfect shape, and only had 19,000 miles on it. I ran the carfax and it showed an insurance claim reported in Feb. of 2006. That was 5 months after buying the car. I called him back and asked about the claim and he said that some lady backed into the car in a parking lot, and that he had the Lexus dealer fix the car and that it was in perfect condition. So I called the Lexus dealership and gave them the vin # and asked for a copy of the repair order. It read like a grocery list and totalled $7300.00 !!!!!! - new bumper, new absorbers, new trunk lid, new tail lights, new muffler, driver side fender rebuild, etc.etc. I called him back and told him what I was looking at and that I would not be buying his car. So, I would buy the cleaner carfax report, with the better owners, and the lowest price. that's the one I would get. :) -

Yeah i herd of that too that the more K's u go the less light it produces, but my friend got the same the lights but its on a nissan altima and his lights light up the whole road even a car ahead of him gets their side of the road brighten by his lights and they are the exact ones i got why is that? Okay, I just checked into it and the Altima does take the same D2R bulbs as the IS 300. So, if indeed you have D2R bulbs, then my question is how are you doing the headlight adjustment? When I had mine all apart I saw it's not just a turn of the wrench. You have to go in and adjust the settings for motors center point. Like I said, my headlights are way brite enouph. Can you post an "evening time" pic with the lights on so I can see?

Subwoofer Install Issue
smooth1 replied to Justin Pammer's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
this isn't about "look at me", But in the 01-05 IS 300 forum, I posted the install I did called audio revamp project in the Dream Ride thread. that install took me a day and a half. If your adding any audio gear or changing anything out, you really have to know what your doing, or else you end up with the first post in this thread. I feel for ya man. Do it yourself?-Am I a pro??? Have someone else do it?- Are they a pro??? I was in the audio biz for quite a few years, so it was never a question about whos gonna do the work on my car, But I have heard alot of stories worse than yours about letting someone else do the work also. Atleast you have the brain cells to figure out the problem and fix it the right way. Most others would have been relagated to the stupid switch thing. Hats off for the recovery... :) -
The differences measured for everyday driving are very small. Amsoil, and Royal Purple are racing oils. Viscosity will hold up better under full throttle conditions there by providing better "bearing wash" and reducing friction a little more, which is how they claim the extra horsepower.( Dyno runs show a 1-3% gain) which is good, but only if your under full throttle conditions alot. After I saw a 1988 Toyota R-22 motor run 170,000 miles on Amsoil opened up for race modifications, and atleast 30 other motors since,( The inside looked almost new, the pistons, crank shaft, rods, all of it, amazing!!! I've been on it ever since, everything I have with a motor. I have seen countless other motors opened that used conventional, and even sythnetics, but maybe didn't give it the oil change when needed all the time,,,you would not beleive the the differences!!! 1,000 miles over an oil change interval increase wear by 10x's !!!!!!

B) It's all good........

I'll bet you have the S bulbs. Because I changed mine out a few weeks ago and they are definately brighter than stock,( I went with the mostly white with slight purple 5600 K). You do know also that the higher the color spectrum, the less overall light it produces also right? For example a 6000 K produces more light than a 8000 K. If I'm not mistaken the stock light is a 4500 K. So keep that in mind also.

Of course you can. You can allways come back for more... ;) Of course, if you should decide to, I would think you should let him pick where. :)

So why would I name my car after, well, you know who? What if I end up hating that person & I now have to constantly be reminded when I say the name? Hmmm... I don't think that's possible. or atleast realistic. and besides,,,,Jaia was music for the soul,, Anger and Love are both very passionate emotions. Both have been used to motivate man kind beyond limits. So, let's be real, the longest your gonna have the car for is 5 to 8 years max anyway. Then you can move on if you want. B) It's not like your getting a tattoo........

I never needed a bean bag chair for that!! In fact it was kinda more like "Roman Grecco Wrestling" if you know what I mean. ^_^
