  1. but how would the car know when it's ok to open the mirrors back out? Let's say you push a button and the mirrors fold in so you can get in that tight spot. You leave, now you come back and get in the car, start it and???? the mirrors automatically open now? bumping into what you closed the mirrors for in the first place? And what if it's to get by somebody elses mirror or a protruding object, or just a tight door way? When would the mirror be okay to open automatically? And by the way, from the scenario you put up on the first post, you should be glad that the car didn't open the mirrors automatically, because the wife never even checked and would have ripped them off backing out!
  2. Yeah, what he said.
  3. welcome to the LOC. You'll have to post pics of the ride for us all to see. And if you decide to start modding it, then your definately in the right place. Have fun. Hope to see ya around the boards.
  4. Just curious, are you just testing the seats right now? cause I thought we were in the middle of this heat wave thing. I wasn't trying to be a smart a$$, I brought that up becasue if it's warm, and you are warm also, you may feel less of a difference from the ambient temp to what the car thinks is warmed, as opposed to the winter when it's cold outside and warmed seats will seem much more. What I mean is if the seats heat up to 85 degrees, and it's 90 outside, then it won't seem as warm as if it was 30 degrees outside. Anyway, I have the heated seats also. I'll check tommarrow and see how hot they get or feel.
  5. hmmm.... why'd they make the lense yellow those goofy lexatopians.....my bad on the info! i'll go look first next time.... but i did get my front/rear side markers in today and put em on....and I'm friggin diggin em!!!! easy install :D that's funny. No problem brother, I only know because I tried already. ;)
  6. No clay model making, no R&D, just take pictures, scan it in, make some small adjustments to the exsisting design , and your ready for production set up. Instaed of using a 450 hp state of the art, cutting edge motor, you use an exsisting platform motor and drivetrain. Suspension will be "slightly soft" to hide all the deficiencies, interior updating with new gauge cluster arrangements and seats. A couple of air bags your rolling a hot looking 15k car off the line. Before you take that apart, let me tell you we have a $35,000.00 motor sitting on a stand at the shop. We also have a $3,600.00 motor sitting in a box. We could install either motor into the same car. We haven't even talked about transmission, drivetrain, and suspension and exhaust. We could make that car 20k or 100k just by changing what we put in and on the car. But the body itself will be the same.
  7. sweet when you get it installed and tuned ima drive my happy !Removed! to florida and beg for a ride Oh I wouldn't make you beg man.....I'd take you for a ride. Of course, you realize the infectious qualities that speed can posess, You may leave scheming and planning. maybe the ride is part OF my scheming and planning ;) *insert sinister laugh here* Oh really??? will I need to be sending instructions on how to install a turbo home with you?
  8. yes you can get whatever colored bulbs you want however amber and red are the only legal colors... at least where i'm from..... ummm the fog lights you can buy the 3300k hid kit That won't change the color at all. You will need to change the entire foglight, as the lens itself is yellow. I have seen the clear fog light kits, but they cost 400 bucks. The clear side marker lights Iv'e seen for 50 bucks. that's not bad. And what lights specifically are talking about when you say parking lights? I don't know what you mean.
  9. well, in any case, I don't beleive that religion forces a higher moral standard by any means. Let's not forget that there were many civilizations before Jesus, Mohamed, Budha, and the rest. Insanity is repeating yourself over and over and expecting different results. If you want to break out of the inner insanity than all you have to do is learn contentment. It's not getting what you want, It's wanting what you have. Perception is everything. Take Georgia, the theif, what if she was poor and felt she needed that bottle to wash her hair so she could go to an interview where perception would once again play a role in whether or not she would get a job so she could get out of her plight? Suddenly our perception of Georgia changes also. Let's take that same scenario and say she was stealing it for a friend who needed it to get a job. Now that even adds a bit of nobility to the act. Again, changing our perception of her, and the act itself. And if she were to go to prison, wouldn't that be the continuance of that noblest of acts, a sacrifice for someone other than ourselves? Let me throw this up: If you were to line up several people and heve them look on as a man stikes another man on the chin, knocking him to the ground. The first witness laughs out loud, almost unable to stop. the next person is horrified in shock that a person would strike another like that. the next witness becomes scared and instantly seeks refuge in fear for himself. The next witness gets upset with the man who strikes the other and wants to step in as defense. Yet another witness gets angry at the man who got struck for not defending himself, and encourages him to stand up and fight back. Who is right? Who is wrong? How is it that we can all see the same event, and have so many different reactions to it? It's all about perception.

  12. So, what were you watching?

  14. alright, seriously, --------You don't want new rims, you don't wanna lower it, and you only have about 800 bucks. HHmmmm, Maybe lip extensions ? That will be about 800, maybe a little more. You could put a neon kit on it!? or you could put an exhaust system on it. People can see that, and hear it. You could do a custom tint job on the windows, I've seen black to mirror fades that looked great. Or maybe just put on a well flair kit. But it might make your tires look skinny. You could put the rear window brim cover on it, that looks good. Maybe a billet grill for the front end. You could do halo's for your headlights.
  15. tasteful
  16. Yo, you could do side pipes, mud flaps(with chrome edges of course), curb finders, window rain gaurds, plasti-chrome vent stickers ( for that truly vintage look), snap on spinner caps( I highly recommend the 8'' look), and you can allways add a few more antenneas to fill in the hollow area on the trunk. All this and you'll still have a couple hundred left over.
  17. alka seltzer...
  18. oh,,,what a releif it is..

  20. Yeah, I don't think the window sticker is tied to the VIN, as alot of dealers do aftermarket work to them and so on. But if you run a carfax report on it, it will tell you when the car was made, where the car was shipped to, and the issueing dealer. Once you have the dealer info you can call them yourself and maybe obtain a copy from them.
  21. Ordered my turbo today. Oh Yeah!!!!
  22. hello, and welcome to the LOC btw. Yeah, I would do the ECU reset first. Also check the air intake. If you had an O2 sensor issue it would probably be throwing up a cell by now. So I don't think that's it. You are running 91 min. octane yes? Your the second person recently to say something about getting 17 mpg. I have an 05' and drive it hard and get 310-320 miles to a tank. ( right around 21-22 mpg) The mileage on your car shouldn't have anything to do with it either. Although, based on mileage, and not time, you are due for a major tune. Do you know if that was done?
  23. The seat position memory came out in the 04-05 models. If you have an automatic, the key must be in the "on" position, and the transmission in park. If you have the manual tran, then the key must be "on" and the parking brake has to be applied. You set the memory correctly. So I would move the seat around and then open the door, close it, put the key in and start the car, then hit 1 and it should return to the memorized postion.
