Doing your own oil changes does not in any way void your warranty. Just keep your receipts and note the mileage at each one. Now, I don't know that every dealership uses the same oil, but awhile back I was in a hurry and took it in for an oil change and they used Castrol Syntec 5-30. I wasn't really happy with that. But oh well. And for the record, not all synthetics are as good as others. I use Amsoil. And you can upgrade the oil filter to TRD oil filters or the Toyota Japan oil filter which is a way better filter. 3 years ago Toyota stopped importing the Denso oil filter and now they use the Toyota USA oil filter which is not as good. Well, understand that what your seeing is a low voltage setting that is sent to the highbeam light to act as a daytime running light. So, you would have to change the incandescent bulb to HID first. ( BIG $$$$) Then you would have to have two HID setups because as I'm sure you know, HID is either on or off, so you would have to set up a lower wattage HID bulb for the daytime running lights, and a high wattage bulb for the high beams. Although, you would also probably need a projector lens then also as I don't think that HID can get bright enouph for highbeam requirements on thier own.( Sounds like alot of work.) But possible I suppose.

19k for an 04' is an awsome deal. If you can get in an 04' for under 21k and an 05' under 24k ( keeping the mileage in line) your doing great. I agree, an automatic is nicer. I had the same issue when I first got mine, I thought I wanted the manual, but the auto has e-shift, so that's the way I went.(another toy to play with.) Plus the auto shifts soooooo nice. But the manual is more controllable, and is fun, but then the daily grind of city traffic can make it work, and then of course there is that "spirited" drive thru the country when manual is nice to have, but then again it's hard to talk on the phone or drink a coffee with manual, ooohhhhh, decisions,decisions............ Oh, and just a tip,,,,,get an IS 300. You will not be dissappointed.

I would check it at the fuse panel. Easy access and you can check most every system to make sure they are all the same or if you have a specific electrical issue. Maybe you are running 14 V to everything accept a few items which would indicate a ground wire issue and not neccassarily an alternator.

I tested mine for ya today. Outside the temp. was 78 degrees this morning. I turned on the heaters and hit toasty warm in 4 minutes, and hit sweaty hot in 7 minutes. I could feel the warming cycles after that. But SKperformance brought up a great point in that I have a Hyper ground kit and a Hyper MR Voltage system on my car as well. I run a solid 14 volts constant.

generally speaking, the reason springs break is because they buy cheap springs that aren't matched to the suspension components or their set up very well. Most people lower their cars for the look, but afterwards realize how much better their car handles also, so then they push the car harder and don't realize that they originally lowered it for looks, and not performance. So the springs they chose become the incorrect application, and when they break, it's the springs fault. If you want to lower your car, Eibach puts out a very good set of springs for the IS 300.Other good names are Teniko and Tenabe. But if you want performance capabilities as well, then coilovers are the only way to go. Tein, Greddy, Teniko. Very nice stuff.

The coolant system is a pressure sealed system. You may just have a bad radiator cap that is sticking open and allowing air or failing fully pressurize the cooling system, which is what keeps the coolant from boiling.

I have a rule. The rule is as follows: Never finance toys. When the ride becomes a toy, you better have the title in hand. (or atleast safely tucked away in a drawer.)
