  2. Well, I would say about half the stuff has come in. And none of the stuff I just ordered has come in yet. I would think that by the end of this week or the beginning of next week I should have it all in.( Christmas time in Smooth's garage!!)

  4. Is the cd player and radio one unit? Did the cd player work before and not the radio? when you turn on the radio and crank up the volume do you hear any thing at all?
  5. Yo dude, that looks hot!!!!!! Very nice. When you put the emblems on, man your gonna flip out. I swear, when your stopped at the stop lights, look over and you'll notice people lookin and admiring. Good job!!! The link you posted wouldn't seem to work for me. But I can answer your questions anyway. If you don't have car audio experience, forget installing the Avic by yourself. If you don't wanna do a full audio revamp then you have to use the stock amp and speakers. If you replace the speakers, then you have to replace the amp, and vice versa. But you can operate the amp with any head unit. You can also add a subwoofer and amp off the avic and still use the stock everything else if you choose to go that route also. -----And btw, the avic is aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssooooooooommmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! But if the avic is still out of reach, I have the stock head out of my 05 that works perfectly for sale if you want to stay stock.
  6. what kind of paint? If it's a latex, or acrylic, soap and water. If it's an oil base paint then I would try your fingernail and wd-40.

  8. It's truly most unfortunate that some people look to a permanant solution for temporary problems. This world can be so cruel and at times do some very mean and selfish things to us, without us having to do them to ourselves. Jibby, I'm truly sorry for you and your families loss. May you and your family draw tighter and closer,,,and through this become stronger. In the meantime, we're here if you need.
  9. You have alot of mileage on that car. So what your going to start running into is all the "rubber" joints and ends are starteing to dry rot. Like at the ends of the shocks, tie rod ends, etc. etc. It happens to everyone. If your going to hold on to the car, maybe start thinking about replacing parts a little at a time. Maybe do the front 2 shocks and then the back 2 later. The electrical issue sounds like a battery going bad. Maybe you just have cell that is fried. The battery can still produce 12 volts which is what is required to run the radio and lights etc. But the cold cranking amps are what start the car. And once it's started the battery does little anymore as the alternator runs everything. Some auto stores will test the battery for you to make sure. And 178k is no reason to have to retire the car. You can get alot more miles out of it if you want to. You will just have some maintenance costs now. But even those are still cheaper than a car payment.....
  10. EBC Greens. Very low brake dust, great grabbing power, and longer life. Not to mention I have never had a squeal problem with em. 70 bucks should do it.

  21. I answered this post in thread you started regarding this issue.
  22. There is a chip in embedded in the key. That is the ignition activation chip. It has to match the code in the ECU. If a key gets inserted into the ignition that doesn't match that code, it disables the car, and won't start. If you don't have the remote fob key, then I would go to a Lexus dealership, and have them do it for ya. There should be a code registration along with the owners manual, and an emergency key and case. They can program a new key for you. And here is a free tip for ya. When they program the key, and set up the remote functions for you, you can have them change the lock and unlock sequence for you. For example, on the remote key, if you press unlock once, the driver door unlocks, if you press it again, all the doors unlock. You can have that changed to where when you hit the button, all the doors unlock the first time. Or the driver door and the rear passenger door. Or any combination you want. I have it so all the doors unlock with the first press of the button. makes it easier for the wife to get in and out of the passenger side.
