  1. Yes, cap, rotor, wires & plugs recently changed. Idle speed fluctuations stayed same as before.
  2. I've got an OBD II tool, but I don't think this car supports OBD. Is there any other way to retrieve diagnostic codes?
  3. Folks, I've got a '93 ES problem that has me stumped. I can adjust the timing and it sits just right when in Park at idle speed. But as soon as I shift into R or D, I get a fluctuation of idle speed of about +- 100-150 RPM. The speed goes up and down every couple of seconds. As you can imagine this is very annoying at street lights, etc. Can anybody tell me which sensors might be affecting my idle speed when in gear. Whichever one it is it's not affecting my idle speed in Park. Thanks.
  4. Can someone tell me what year clusters will fit my 1993 ES? Thanks.
  5. dropspace, the rattle is coming from the front end. it could be the caps. i'll take a look at them based on your suggestion. sw03es/squarehat, it used to idle fine, cold or hot. the ac does not have to be on for this to happen. latoilette, can you elaborate on the ptu and iaa? i am not familiar with those. thanks for all the replies.
  6. Folks, I've got a '93 ES300 that bumps up and down about 200 RPM at idle when in gear. If I put it in park it seems to settle to a normal idle range. Any idea what might be causing this? It runs great at higher speeds and I don't notice any hesitation, however the idle thing is really annoying. Also, I remember seeing a post recently about a rattle noise in the front end at low speed. Can someone provide me some info on this or point me to the post? Thanks in advance.
  7. Can anybody tell me where I can find mail order, web, etc a gauge cluster for a '93 ES300? Thanks.
  8. Folks, I have a 1993 ES300 that appears to have an electrical short. The 10A Gauge fuse blew. I tried replacing it and it immediately blew again. I have tried tracing the red/blue wire from the alternator thru the engine compartment but can't find the short. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem? I'm not sure if this is related, but after a short while of running the vehicle with the fuse blown (since I had to get home) the alternator died. I removed it and took it into a parts shop and they tested it and confirmed that it did not have the required output. I replaced the alternator but still have the fuse/short problem. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Regards, JF
