  1. thanks for the input. So did you have the dealer install this 2x2 antenna before you picked up the car? I'm quite sure I do not have this on my car! I would like to get the service, and agree its integration with the stereo system is excellent, however, I'm not sure I want some 2x2 square attached to the side of my Silver car! If the car was black maybe... I thought the GPS antenna on the roof provided support for satelite radio as well as the GPS? How did you get the service enabled and what did it cost?
  2. Aside from waiting till Verizon gets a Bluetoth enabled cell phone in my area of NY/LI, has anyone tried to activate XM satellite radio in their '04 LS430? If so, could you please elaborate on what is needed? I read in the manual that the dealer needs to install some kind of receiver BEFORE I can activate the service. I went on xmradio.com and it asked for my XM radio ID. I was under the impression that all this came standard with the car! Also, would the dealer also need to install another ugly antena on my car? Don't think I want to go through with that, but curious to hear what others might have done, and is it worth having? Is the music quality and offerings worth the hassle, and the $10/month charge? Thanks...Beartrap.
  3. Thanks for the web site! This sucks! No way am I using AT&T Wireless. Their service sucks in thr NYC area as compared to verizon. So does this mean I cna not use the Bluetooth wireless feature in my new car without going with AT&T??? It was one of the main reasons why I got the Nav systems. Don't get me wrong, I love the Nav and the Levinson stereo, BUT, I would really have loved it if I could get a phone from verizon that worked! Do you think (or does anyone know) if Verizon will come out with a phone that interfaces with Bluetooth and the Lexus??? I would imagine they plan to offer this sometime soon since its becoming more popular... Thanks again for your advice. How do you like the phone?
  4. thanks! Are you based in the UK? I was thinking so since you mentioned BT! Glad to hear it actually works unlike many people with BMW 745's! I'm located in NY and have Verizon cell service and wish to retain it and my number. Guess I'll need to contact the dealer for some details on this. Not too much listed on the Internet about this stuff for Lexus. Who makes the SE T616 phone???
  5. Just got me new LS430 and wanted to find out from others if anyone is using the Bluetooth wireless feature for their cell phone? If so, does anyone know what phones are recomended to work with the car? I've heard from come that you MUST purchase the phone from a Lexus dealer and that they are way overpriced! Any input or experiences with this feature would be most appreciated! Thanks, Beartrap
  6. I'm happy to say that I am taking delivery of my very first Lexus LS430 tomorrow morining! I'm actually excited about it! I took about two months deciding what to get. I drove everyhting in the price range. Really wanted to get another BMW, the new 5 series for price reason and the 7 for ride and size. Both are good cars, BUT the quality has really declined over the years. The A8 was nice, but was too expensive and did not feel like I was getting the best value. The VW Phaton was actually nice, but can't spend 70k on a VW! Forget about MB, their quality is even worse than BMW! We currently have a Cayenne S for my wife, an '02 911 cab for the weekend, and a Toyota Seqouia which is being traded in for the LS430. I love the way the 430 feels! Its by far the best car for the money in the price range. So much stuff! I test drove both the euro suspension and the std and decided to go with the std. Also getting Nav and Levinson. Got a great deal: $55.5 and 32k for my trade! The car stickered for 61k. The car will be used mostly for highway and around town. I felt some difference between the two, but not enough to make a clear distinction. These cars do not compare to the BMW/MB drives, but they are close enough and provide more luxery and value than the German cars. I will say that Lexus defnitely made the std suspension and steering better than the 03 which we drove in the summer and thought was too soft. I plan to replace the stock tires with something better, also possibly increasing to 18" wheels which will further improve the hadnling. Any suggesitons from anyone out there on past expereinces? Anyway, I'll report back on the drive home from the dealer and let you know what I think. I think my wife might want to make it her car which means I get to live with the Cayenne everyday, which would not be a bad thing! I'm very pleased that I decided to save thousands by getting this car and look forward to not living with loaner cars from the dealer!
  7. Lexus of Greenwich, CT offered me $3500 over invoice. Not bad, but I think I can do better!
