  1. Yeah they are laser cut.... I think. They have the cut on the inside like the new ones do. So I suppose they cut them just like they would a new one.
  2. Well, I got the quote back from the dealership on the keys and they are about $55 to replace, but on the lexus parts web site I believe they are around 45. So I will probably get them from there. Sadly there is no keyless entry system installed on the 90' Es 250, but I could just get an aftermarket one to fix that problem. Only thing is I'm not sure which ones are good...and which ones are better. Maybe some one that reads this could help out if you have been through that situation before. I would also like the keyless entry system to have that cool beep noise when you lock it. (sorry im still a kid and I need my cool beep noise) Sincerely, The 250 Kid.
  3. That would be nice, but also expensive. If it is cheaper to have the origional key chain replaced, then I would rather do that.
  4. Yeah you're right. I would have never expected this post to get as many replies as it has. I am not sure I would supercharge the car. On one hand it would be sweet. Yet, on the other I don't have the money, and I'm not sure how a potential buyer would react to having that in the engine bay. The stock paint job can always be matched....and exceeded. I'm just not down with the whole 2 tone thing. To Lextech2k3 maybe you can save me a trip to the dealer and tell me if there actually is a keyless entry system to the 250, and how much that might cost to get it replaced. Thanks.
  5. Yeah don't be fooled. The front seats were in horrible shape, so I had them replaced. Or atleast I thought I did. Turns out the passenger side only had the bottom replaced, because the guys decided that the back was in pretty good shape....which it is. But still I think it kind of defeats the whole purpose to get half of it done. During the summer i want to re-do the paint with the whole car being monotoned, add gold flake, and maybe a bit darker champagne color....with about 5 clear coats. After all that is done I will most likely try to re-sell the car for about 4,000 if I can get that much, and then start the whole process over with a new Lexus. I heard that a different color other then the origional can make your car go down in value. Is that true?
  6. I put some pics of the car up. they are in the gallery, misc. section. Here is the link if you are lazy > Es 250 enjoy.
  7. I think i might be the only person here with a 250. Everyone else is talking about their 300, oh well. I didn't expect this thred to have so many replies. Especially about stuff I didn't talk about in the origional. I have a question though.... On that whole, avatar thing, how do you put in a pic there next to your name when you post replies? I tried it a few times but somehow it doesnt recognize the .jpeg's that i have, and i can't figure out why.
  8. Yeah I read the owners manual today at school and it said it was an option on the car. But I'm not that dumb as to not notice that there is a CD plaer already there. Which its not. The only thing I don't like about the one I got installed is how when the car is in park you have to manipulate the CD to get it in because of the mile wide shifter.
  9. This Es is my first car, and I am by no means rich. I just choose wisely and spend well. I bought the car for 2,500 and 150 to replace the seats. It was a steal i couldnt pass up. Of course having hook ups doesnt hurt....but that will come later on when i want the paint redone, and some different rims. I also had a cd player installed in it today and that cost another 129....40 dollars off, but 40 again for the 4 year warranty. So all in all my work this summer paid off and saving all that money came to a nice ending with the car being the holy grail at the finish line. I have to get a new job soon though because i can only pay off the insurance until febuary.
  10. Back with the info. To the guy who was talking about GM mechanics working on the car. The things I was having fixed are only asthetic. The guy I bought the car from is a mechanic and checked the car out and there are no mechanical problems as of right now. He also said he would cover me for any problems that show up...to back up his words. big + for me :) Here are some stats i found online for the car. I changed the cloth seat line to leather because thats what it has. And I'm not sure about the whole keyless entry thing. I'm going to a Lexus dealer sometime soon to find out if it actually had one in the first place and how much it would cost to get that replaced since I didnt recieve one with my set of keys. I also bought a cd in-dash for the car because there is no way I would be able to go and buy tapes of all the music I listen to now :chairshot: Thanks for the support!
  11. I actually dont have my car at this moment. My mom and i were supposed to pick it up from the shop on tuesday, but we don't know where that is. The guy that sold the car to us dropped his cell in the water and its service it out and untill he calls back we will not be able to go get it. Untill then ill just be watching for other people who know about the 250 and ill post the stats when i get it.
  12. Hello to every one. I am 17 and I have just purchased a Lexus ES 250. I thought that this would be the one site where I could come and people would still remember that the car exists, and be able to talk to other owners about it. Seems that even the owners club forgot... Maybe someone could point me in the right direction for a forum I might have missed on here? On anther note, I was wondering what the best products/techniques would be to clean the engine and hub caps. Thanks for reading!... and replies I hope. :(
