  1. You can and when it is straightened out, dab it with primer and whatever color your car is painted with.
  2. I have a 600. What would you like to know?
  3. The OP is referring to the amber lit Nike-like swoosh at the bottom left corner. One could suggest it resembles a Lexus "L". The 600hL on the other hand does not have this feature as the two lower white LEDs occupy that space.
  4. Which garage are you using, a Lexus dealer? This should not happen, and as Whitbaby suggests they should use an adapter on their lift to fit the slots - too lazy I guess. There are two floor jack hard points as indicated in your manual, one just forward of the oil pan, the other next to the differential. If they continue to bend the reinforced seams, you will not be able to use them safely in an emergency, like changing a flat tire. And, corrosion will set in making this area prone to destructive rust, not visible to the eye. If you observe on the far left in the image linked below, the floor jack is positioned on the hard point, just forward of the oil pan. Oil_Draining_1.pdf
  5. I heard about this tire; that's the one that is injected with a male hormone...
  6. I've used ECT PWR sparingly as I "tried" to behave during the first 1K, but I still couldn't resist, especially when my son who drives a mod RSX Type S asked me to take him out for a spin. But the change was quite noticeable. The shift points and suspension were more aggressive. It certainly is no F40, but it holds its own quite well.
  7. Mine is as smooth as silk... Is it really "smooth as silk"? I have not been impressed by the smoothness of this transmission. The downshifing at highway speeds is poor at best. With a modest push on the gass, the car clunks into a lower gear. Try using your cruise control lever to accelerate from 55 to 65--at least two shifts/clunks...to get up to speed. I drive my LS aggressively hard both on acceleration, and coming out of hairpin turns (I drove my MT Rx7 for fourteen years, fishtails, handbrake turns and the like, Honda Accord Coupes & Acura 3.2 CL-S ATs also both very hard), and my driving style has not changed; the tranny has been as I described. I even had one AT replaced in the Accords. I don't hear or feel any clunking on my new LS as described above.
  8. I am new to Navi systems having done fine without them over the years. Having opinions about their functionality is highly subjective, and dependent on vehicle use. When I first used the one in my LS, I was somewhat indifferent, but grew to appreciate it when I needed it. I leave it turned off most of the time. Even now I find myself looking at maps to find directions, and kick myself halfway there for forgetting to use it; especially is I have trouble locating my destination. I've even asked for directions at a gas station and wondered why afterwards. Peculiar isn't it? When I do use it, I find it very useful & highly functional. Seeing become disabled when the car moves hasn't really bothered me, but losing some of the audio functions has been annoying at times. That's been my experience anyway...
  9. The Dunlops are there, but there are no results as of yet. It is funny, because I think that I have stumbled onto something here. When I read various posts out there, many people mention a Car & Driver article that gave a bad rating to the LS460 in terms of braking. It is mentioned by many owners and enthusiasts, that the car was tested on the Turanza EL42's, but that the tests were done using a pre-production model LS, and that the tires would be different when it went on sale to the public. The ratings for this tire are very bad, and they do not compare in many ways to the Dunlops that many of you seem to have on your cars. This is going to be an interesting one. My dad is going to owe me big time if he gets new tires. As for me, my LS400 runs on Michelin MXV4 Plus tires (not my choice) for the summer. It is fine. Jeff Jeff, I have the Turanza EL42s, and they're not a bad tire, IMHO. If you check the comments on the Tire Rack website, you'll find the odd negative comment, but most are quite happy with them. SW03ES, The Canadian LS does indeed have a clear bra. They are also supplied with wheel locks. My dealer said these were installed in Toronto. I didn't realize the LS was shipped through there, so that's news to me. Doesn't make sense though...
  10. There are rumours that the LS460 can reach 170mph when the electronic governor is removed. I say governor but it may simply be a software switch, but that has not yet been hacked. The North American version can only reach 130mph. Tweaking the engine with tricks like !Removed! cans, headers, air kits, or superchargers may be redundant as the car is already capable anyway. Give it a year, and I'm sure some techies will have it all worked out. At that point you may want to consider a beefier suspension, and some Z-Rated skins.
  11. I just bought a SWB in Vancouver with Navi & ML. If you're trading in, you may have some leeway as anything you get above what they offer you for your old car represents a discount off the new one. If you're paying cash on the other hand, they may throw in some goodies, like free oil changes up to $500, lots of Logo items like all-season mats, umbrellas, mugs, jackets, keyfobs, and whatever else they sell over and above. That's about it on a new car. Then again, you could take a chance and wait until the new 2008s arrive, but in the first year, a lot of buyers will be going after the '07s & demos if any.
