  1. I have had several LXs and am familiar with the stock head unit. This is not OEM, not sure what it is. coukd be a Bluetooth pairing button for an audio add on trace the wire to the component
  2. I had a 2004 with 90k and no issues, so wine hit me and it was totaled then I got 2006, and put 190k on it, also no issues now I have a 2015, no issues to date with 101k miles knock on wood
  3. I purchased halo type assemblies with the “brow” before and they were great, looked night and held up in New England snow/salt similar to this style in the attachment. I think my brand was Anzo. I had a pearl white lx so the reflector background was my choice. If I had a black lx, it would look slick with the black background
  4. Not sure if it matters but there was a known TSB issue with the mirror relay inside the mirror assembly That would prevent the mirror from returning to the home position after tilting down
  5. Water pump and timing belt won’t change the feel... just know that. It is good to get it done, but it won’t be cheap. Did you decide on Michelin tires? You will feel a big difference with the comfort of those tires....
  6. I had a 1996, 2004, 2006 and now 2015.... there is no way that beating you to death is normal. If all the mechahicals are good then that leaves the tires. Trust me on the tires, get Michelin it you want a good ride. You get what you pay for and the other brands WILL impact ride quality.
  7. Glad to be of assistance. You should call (;&@)$ back and tell them you took it to a repair guy and he charged you a $100 for the diagnosis and replugging it in. Have them give you the money and split it with me! I could send you bill, just kidding! same thing happened to me with a remote car starter install, only difference my shop didn’t blame it on me. They checked it out for and hour figured it out fixed it and apologized. Sometimes getting a good deal with someone working on your car is not worth it. I hate the Lexus dealer....so I go to Toyota, they can do 90% if the work at 60-70% of the cost
  8. Near that panel where you knees are look for a few little lives that look like vents in the plastic, half inch wide. Behind that is a temp sensor that tells the car what the temp is. So if it is set to 73 degrees that sensor relays to the climate control whether to send heat or cooling. When they removed the panel they had to unplug it. It prob just not pluggged in or the wire is pinched or damaged
  9. Anytime, it took me a very long time and a lot of research to figure it out! When you hear it again just remember what to say. I save it in the contact info for the dealer in my phone!
  10. Anytime, it took me a very long time and a lot of research to figure it out!
  11. It has happened on my 1996, 2004, 2006 models. Obviosly I love this car... it is common. It can be allieviated by having the Toyota dealer (which I prefer over Lexus) grease the slip slider yoke zirk fitting. But it will come back. No harm done
  12. I would like to know as well, pictures would be an added plus
  13. I have the same problem on my 1997, 2004, and 2006. I wish I knew why, all my windows are closed fully
  14. Do the above procedure and then recalibrate the steering wheel. Find a parking lot or dead end. You will want to drive I circles or 8's to calibrate the best way..
  15. Try unplugging both terminals of the battery, with the battery unplugged, put the key in the on position to drain left over charge, leave it that way for 5 - 10 min, them remove the key, plug the battery back in. And give it a start. You may need to re calibrate the steering if the RSCA comes on. Another thing you may want yo check before doing all that is the differential lock button to make sure that's off, its located by the power antenna button by your right knee when sitting in the driver seat.
  16. Take it to the Toyota dealer for brakes and other items. My Toyota dealer can do 1 axle which includes resurfacing rotors without removing them, brakes, cleaning, fluid etc for under 250. I am in ct, and right now they have a 20% deal on brakes that they emailed me on, specials come and go. The lexus dealer in my area is a rip off, the Toyota dealer can do everything they can, its basically a land cruiser. Just make sure its a reputable Toyota dealer. Mine is fine.
  17. I have an idea. In the panel facing the drivers right knee there are several half inch vents recessed in the plastic molding. That is a temp sensor for the climate control. It likely got unplugged, loose, damaged, jossled, etc. Check that out or ask them to. Sounds like the system does not know the cabin temp.
  18. i dont see that this model has the climate controls and "non-radio / phone" features you would lose by doing a replacement.
  19. in my 2004 and 2006 LX470's it is located by my right knee when seated in the drivers seat. look at the panel below where your keys go, there will be a few lines that look like little stationary vents, maybe a half inch long, the sensor is right behind it. if you can't locate it i can send pictures if you email me....
  20. i have a working subwoofer assembly but the speaker surround has deteriorated. if your speaker looks good you might be able to drop it in. $150 and it is yours.
  21. maybe a lexus tech could answer, but i dont think you can do this. If you do figure it out, i would LOVE to know as i would use it the same way, Some Lincolns do this when placed in park.
  22. Can anyone provide me with some guidance instructions or pictures on removing the center located trim panel where the shifter, hieght control, heated seat buttons, etc are in the middle of the 2004 LX470 the proper way without breaking any tabs or connectors? I am replacing a button that is not working... i am pretty sure they are all snap in, but i dotn want to find out that there is a lone screw somewhere holding everything down...
  23. could be the idler/tensioner pulley. it is either that or a heat shield in the exhasut system sowewhere or an exhasut hangar that went bad. i had a land cruiser prior to my LX and it was making a similar noise.
  24. Quentin, i have stock rims with 275 60R 18 tires on them. i prefer the michelin brands or toyo for this vehicle. the michelin cross terrain worked nice before. If you want to sell the rims and tires you have, i may be interested to help offset your cost for the other rims and tires you plan on purchasing. Roger
  25. Did you try to reset what region you are located in? For example if you are in NY, you would select the northeast region in the settings menu...... Roger
