  1. Here's an excerpt from a posting by 92Lex for replacing a timing belt: Remove air duct - (1) 10mm bolt : Remove fan clutch: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r15/gsxr37/103_0330.jpg Remove fan clutch by loosening these 4 bolts behind it: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r15/gsxr37/103_0329.jpg The entire posting is at: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=14705&st=0 Here is a link for the option of replacing your mechanical fan with an electric one: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/cooling/fanconversion.html
  2. What does your temp gage read and have you checked your coolant level? If it's ok, then try setting your heater at the highest temp with the heater fan at high. Once you feel heat entering the cabin, check the large fan at the front of your engine. It should slow down. If you have no heat entering the cabin, you might have a blocked heater core or a bad water pump. If you do have heat and your fan doesn't slow down, then you have a problem with your fan clutch. ........good luck
  3. I agree. They look great. Any concerns about increased stress on the bearings in using shims to correct for the offset?
  4. Best looking kit i've seen on this board. Style kind of reminds me of some BBS kits for the Scirocco gen2
  5. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...+wiring+harness Sure enough, found the problem. Fixed it myself. Saved whatever the shop would have charged to "find" the problem. Thanks for your help.
  6. Fortunately quite a few people have had this problem, do a forum search on the classic "trunk wiring loom was made too short" fault, where the wiring has worn through due to use and causes a backfeed of voltage that gives your symptoms. You should be in for an easy fix. Cheers! Thanks for the info, any threads you can point to?
  7. Has anyone experienced the problem i'm having with my 91ls? At highways speeds, driving in overdrive, when I apply the brakes even slightly, the tranny immediately drops into third with the higher rpm and the reverse gear lights up in the dash. When I get off the brake pedal, the tranny goes back up into overdrive. I noticed my backup lights are not lighting up when I shift into reverse and the rear bulb indicator is lit up. The reverse gear lights up anytime I step on the brake, whether I'm moving or in park. Acceleration and shifting while driving is otherwise normal. It's very strange to see Reverse light up at the same as Drive whenever I step on the brakes. Any ideas?
