  1. This "penny" test is hideous. Put a penny in a bottle of coca-cola and it will disolve to nothing.....but who is going to pour a coke in their Lexus? If autorx was a bona fide engine cleaner they would pay for some real world documented testing. I think it's just some retired chemical sales guy in Florida who has decided to mix his own blend of group V ester based oils & fats that have a cleaning effect on some engines. The results posted on BITOG are really a mixed bag of results. But nobody wants to feel silly about sending this guy $40 for POE that you could use seafoam instead for 1/4the cost. IMO If I ever get a copper alloy engine...I'll be certain to try autorx. BTW, I flush my engines with rislone for $3...works fine.
  2. The only thing that bothers me about Auto Rx is some of the responses that the owner of the AutoRx company has made to people when they question or complain about his product. There was a guy on BITOG who used AutoRx and his engine started leaking right afterwards. He complained and was pounced on by several members and was told by the owner of the company "your engine had leaks anyway". I won't use the product because after witnessing that exchange it is clear the AutoRx company will not stand behind any damage done by the product.
  3. I get the wix napa gold from www.fleetfilter.com excellent prices and they carry everything.
  4. I am new to this forum but have a 2004 Rx330 with 100,000 miles on it and have used valvoline 5w30 since new with the toyota oil filter. I have decided to switch to valvoline maxlife synthetic blend for the next 100,000 miles to see how it does. Now after finding a post on this forum about how to do an oil change I am doing all my own oil service and today changed the differential oil for $6 versus the $100 the dealer charges. I bought a Motive brand fluid extractor and use it to change the trans fluid and p/s fluid so now I can do a complete full vehicle oil service with filters for $49. Much better than the $400 dealer cost IMO. :D
