  1. I have an A/C issue that started with warm air about six weeks ago. After verifying that my GX has the current relay, I visited an Atlanta Lexus dealer who recharged the A/C with refrigerant and dye. $200 later, ice cold air - until last week. While this seems to confirm I have a leak (or leaks), is there anything I can try on my own before going back to the dealer? Something short term could work until cooler weather arrives. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I've been having a similar issue recently with my 05 GX, but the problem is that the ride is too high. My commute is less than 2 miles round trip every day, but when the suspension is on the fritz the ride becomes so bad that I wouldn't be surprised if the rear axle detaches at some point. Thank goodness I haven't had any passengers recently as I fear they would have been catapulted into the ceiling. Moreover, the height control indicator intermittently flashes "off" and it doesn't seem to always coincide with when the car is riding rough. Sometimes the problem seems to correct itself. For example, the ride was terrible leaving the parking garage this afternoon, but when I got out at a mailbox less than a 1/2 mile away, everything looked normal. I got back in and the rest of the ride home was fine. There are a number of other GXs in my parking garage at work and I've parked alongside for comparison, the gap (between the top of my Michelin(s) and the upper part of the wheel well) is significantly higher than the other GXs I've compared it to. Does this sound like the same solenoid issue?
  3. I would be most appreciative if someone would send me the link as well. Thanks so much! erik_schwartz@att.net
  4. I found a blade at napa for $11.99 that installed nicely except that it was a 14" instead of the 16" OEM. The instructions above were helpful in replacing the blade. Thanks!
  5. My 05 GX just hit 75K and is obviously well past the the 60K change interval. I'm somewhat handy in that I've changed my oil, air filters, etc. I'm wondering if this is a worthwile DIY project. My dealer has quoted $79 for a drain and fill and $149 for a flush and fill. Should I give it a try or just spend the $ to have it done professionally. Any guidance would be most appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I've also had a difficult time adjusting to the halogens on my GX in the 4 years I've owned mine. One would expect a 60K SUV to have Xenons (which I loved in my Infiniti), but the most accepted reason I've heard for their abscense is the risk of the HIDs to oncoming vehicles. While I somewhat accept that theory, GM (more specifically Cadillac) seems to have no problem putting blinding HIDs in the Escalade.
  7. Based on the comments made above, only refills are required (unless of course something is wrong with the wiper itself). Therefore, is the rain-x wiper & blade I purchased incompatible?
  8. Just ordered the NAV update from Sewell Lexus in Dallas today. Cost was $260.01 plus a $40.00 rebate for sending back the old DVD. They also have all season floor mats for $86 plus $9.99 S&H. My local dealer quoted $130. They have a great website and seem to offer fair prices for OEM parts and accessories. http://www.lexus-parts.com
