  1. that's exactly what I was thinking, I wonder how many they'll make. i'd love to get an m3 stomper that's a lexus as long as it would legitimately be better then the m3 and this car seems to be exactly that. they say it's not a track car and i certainly wouldn't be track racing my car, so i'd love to get this fast and sport tuned lexus.
  2. I'm sort of disappointed my Lexus IS 250 didn't come with HIDs, although there isn't much of a selection when picking out a manual, but after having my car for about 3 months I've decided I wanted HIDs. The stock lights that came on my Lexus aren't bad but I look at the back of my car at night and see the bluish/white LEDs for my license plate and I look at the front of my car and the yellow lights aren't cutting it. I've added HIDs and projectors to my last car so I know how the process goes; however, are the stock projectors in the IS the ones you want to be using when you install HIDs? I was looking into getting the 6k HID from JDM MTEC which I read was a ligament brand link I was wondering if I can get some input from somebody who has installed HIDs using non-HID projectors, are they the same projectors with both lights? How do the HIDs look and do they work well?
  3. I found this today an official two part review of the Lexus IS-F with everything from performance on a track to touring the streets Part 1 Part 2 enjoy.
  4. so I went to the lexus dealership today and let me start off by saying there was a badass lexus IS350 sitting out in front and I took some pictures of it. Anyways there ended up hopefully being a faulty sensor which they hopefully fixed. While I was there I also asked about some packages I knew about when buying the car that I may be interested in. First off what do you all think of the Tire & Wheel Road Damage warranty? For $500 they're suppose to replace and wheels and tires when necessary for 50k miles/5 years. And also they offer a $1000 package that's suppose to pay for any problems that arise during any of my scheduled maintenances as well as paying for the scheduled maintenances themselves, up to 50k miles. Is there a list somewhere on this web-site for all the prices of the scheduled maintenances that I could look at? What do you all think of these two packages? For $1,500 I shouldn't have to pay for anything that goes wrong with my car till $50k miles (excluding oil changes and brakes); however, I'm not sure how much Lexus follows up on these deals and if they're really worth it. Any feedback please?
  5. I've had my IS 250 for not even a month and I was pulling into a parking spot and when I parked a check VSC light came on. There's less then 2500 miles on the car, and having in mind my first oil change is coming up; should I just make a trip to the dealership and have them look at it and get the oil change there too? I'm not sure on how much Lexus charges for there oil change. What do you all think?
  6. So I'm interested in getting a sub for my speaker system, if I wanted to also power all my speakers through my amp what channel amp would I need? Has anybody done this and did it make an substantial difference?
  7. so here are the pictures. sorry they're so bad as soon as i got the car my friend called me from Kentucky Speedway and asked me if I wanted to come to the Indy 300; and since he's a Indy pro-series racer (and the youngest one at that) he was able to get me in to the pits and i got to talk to all the hot drivers girlfriends while they were racing... anywhere here are the pix and sorry they're night shots: enjoy, any comments are appretiated
  8. So my day finally came, i went to the dealer in Louisville, Ky where I'm currently interning at and asked what manual IS 250's they had. out of the entire region they only had about six and I found my perfect 250 in Tennessee. It has the 6 speed manual, white exterior, black interior, HKS sport exhaust, 18" G spider wheels, and the ground effects kit. the car was put on the carrier yesterday to head to KY so I should have it monday if not tomorrow! i'm so excited for this car and it's gonna be a huge upgrade from my past cars my most recently being a 350z roadster and my past onces being an RX8 and an accord. I can't wait to see how it looks! hopefully it'll be worthy enough to keep through the three years of college I have left. :) anybody on the forums have a white on black IS? i'll have pictures up just as soon as i get it
  9. I'm looking to purchase a 350 within the next few weeks. There are a few options that I'm looking at such as the Luxury Plus Package (LD), Navigation System (NV), and an X Package w/ sunroof (XE). The Mark Levinson speakers and the Sport Tuned suspension are also other options I am considering. Can anybody tell me if there's a substantial difference between the Levinson and the normal speakers? Also can anybody tell me if there's anything great about the upgraded suspension? And is everybody out there for the most part enjoying there 350 anything in particular I should know? and thanks :o
  10. Hi everybody, At the end of the week I'm getting rid of my '03 Honda Accord and mid way through the summer I plan on also selling my '04 350z. I'm looking into purchasing a new car to keep for the next 5 or so years. As my decision nears I've come down to a few cars Subaru Legacy, Lexus IS, and the BMW 335i; due to my family's car purchasing pattern I'll most likely be getting the Lexus. Now it comes down to which IS to purchase both models intrigue me, the IS 350 although more powerful lacks a manual model while I can get an IS also in either AWD or a manual if I chose the less powerful 250 model. Both speed and luxury are at my utmost concerns, I have yet to test drive the AWD or manual IS 250s I was wondering if anybody could tell me their opinion (especially if somebody's driven all three) of which one is the most fun to drive and any recommendations they're willing to offer. Also I've been looking at the modifications offered currently for the IS models is there any particular model that has more mods then the others?
  11. An STI is a rally car and designed for enthusiasts. the 0-60 on the STI is 4.8 stock if the drive is capable of shifting properly, don't plan on beating an STI in an stock IS 350. right now I'm looking into new car to purchase during the summer and my best friend's car is an STI so of course most of my specs for the cars that i'm considering are compared to the STI. the STI isn't in the same class as the IS 350 which is why you'll get beaten. again the sti is an all wheel drive turbo powered b4 motor, the car's designed to be able to able to take high rpm drops and handle corners and turns like a dream, while the lexus IS is a luxury car and although it does have a larger engine and about 50hp less stock the tuning (unless u bought the sports package) is tuned to be more economical. and although his car might be faster you have to consider that the lack of speed is probably worth the luxuries you get. i love subaru's and believe they're well made cars but the STI is a performance car and you dont really stand a chance unless the driver can't shift. out of all of the other cars i'm considering the only one that can really even compare to the STI is the new 335i which has a 0-60 close to the sti.
