  1. I would start with checking when the last engine oil change was made. If that was a long time ago, I would change to oil and go for a good syn. oil, like Mobil1. Then I would put a bottle of Techron in the gas tank, to clean the fuel system, replace the spark plugs, check the timing belt. Note that you need to have a good performing car before starting with modding :)
  2. Saw a lot of nice member pics and was wondering how many of the ES members are actually doing or are intending exterior mods?
  3. not too sure about the weight, but these are very, very light. It is made of plastic.
  4. I would not go for the Sprint lowering springs. The drop it too much for any OEM struts. In addition, it appears that not too many people have experience with the Sprint lowering springs. I would go with other brands like Eibach or a JDM product. Also, if you are going for springs, I would go no lower than a drop of about 1.3" By the way, also please read the other posts. There is a post that is asking for the same question :whistles:
  5. There are several RX bodykits available (for the old version as well as the existing one). I can source them, but shipping cost to the US would be very expensive, unless several bodykits are shipped at the same time. So, if you are interested in a RX bodykit, or any other bodykit, please post and pm. I will see what I can do :)
  6. Quick question. Why did you decided to go for this strutbar? Price? Finishing? Fit? I have seen this strutbar at some strippers, and it looks heavy.
  7. Only the GS that have standard HID have yellow fog lights. That's why many want to have yellow fog lights. The yellow is caused by a plastic lens that is behind the glass. You can break the yellow lens if you want.
  8. I would never drop my car more than 1.3" - 1.5" with just using lowering springs. A drop up to 1.3" or so would be within the OEM manufacturer's tolerance, for more than that you need shortened sport shocks. Also, since the actual weight of your car may vary (no. of people, ICE installations, ...) if you drop your car too much, you will be hitting the ground or fencers.
  9. Welcome DavidB. Wow, now we really have some detailing expertise in our forum.
  10. I personally also do not like the stick-on woodkits. Painting them is a nice solution, assuming that you are a good painter or know one. I am currently working on a new dash refinishing solution, that requires you to remove your existing parts and send them to me for refinishing. It's done very professional and currently it is possible to refinish the trims into all kinds of wood look, carbon fiber look, aluminium look, blackwood look. I will post some pics later.
  11. :o They only come in black and in CF look (also black). Probably you paint them yourself?
  12. If you are looking for aggressive drop, it would be better to consider coilovers rather just springs. I would be surprised if any reputable spring vendor is offering these extreme drop lowering springs.
  13. 3 gauge pods and CF-look 1/2/3 gauge pod are also available. Real CF pods are very expensive and therefore not available through me for now.
  14. photo of the 2pot. 1pot and 3pot are also avail.
  15. I got some requests from people who were looking for pillar gauge pods. If there is enough demand, I may do a Group Buy. Cost still needs to be determined, depends on the quantity of course. I expect something like $40 - 50 each.
  16. I heard that the GS400 are even more reliable than the GS430 :) They changed some of the GS430 electronics and on average GS400 are even more happy with their car than GS430 owners.
  17. it really depends what color your car is. I personally think they look very nice on silver cars.
  18. Welcome to our forum. Nice to have a real Aristo TT on board. Please post some pics and tell about your mods! And yes, our Aristo friend is correct about the taillights
  19. Use a vacuum cleaner and clean the filter. Since most of the dirt is dry, you can clean it easily. Then spray dome disinfective spray and you can use it for another while :) Some of the people I know, use a large A/C filter and then cut it into pieces, will also work. However, the perfectionist among us should just get a brandnew one :)
  20. JDM stands for Japan Domestic Market, or products that were originally developed with the Japan market in mind. Nowadays, a lot of these products can be have elsewhere. Your last pic is a pic of the original 98 - 00 taillights, but where the amber parts were removed. The original taillights consisted of several layers of colored plastic and if you are carefully you can first melt/cut away the glue and then take out the amber plastic and reseal the taillight. This can be done professionally, and in Japan there are companies that sell these modified taillights. (e.g. Junction Produce) You can also do this DIY, takes a lot of work, but is possible. The other, new style taillights, without the amber are different. Due to a new design, these taillights do not have seperate amber plastic layers inside, but it is integrated with the other colored plastic. It is impossible? to do it DIY. However, Junction Produce found a way to clear the amber part (prob. a very expensive process), and therefore are selling these taillights for very expensive. All the OEM Toyota/Lexus UK/European, Asian (Aristo, GS) and US taillights have the amber part.
  21. probably you have some small holes in your front tires. What you can do is to change the rear tires with the front tires and then check if it still happens.
  22. Pls make some nice pics when you are doing the brake porting. We could use some nice DIY workshops. Thanks!
  23. You are welcome :) most of the modded Aristo TT will have the Supra TT caliper upgrade, and are very happy with them. The only difference with some other brakes is that the Supra calipers are huge and will not clear with some rims. Also, these are a bit heavier than the AP or the TRD or DS-Racing monoblock calipers. But in terms of stopping power the are on top of the 4pot league. :)
