98 model year.

I agree.

Here is one that hopefully will help you out. The specs are: iForged Techniks brushed alum face, polished lips on Nitto 555 Front: 20x8.5 +43 245/35 Rear: 20x10 +38 275/30 I had to shave the fender to get the rear to fit. +38 front, +42 rear would probably be better offsets if you wanted flushed and no fender mods.

Here is mine with 20s. I can't really tell you how much it is dropped since I have coilovers. I can tell you that it measures 26 5/8" from the ground to the top of the wheel well (including the black trim), meaning I measured from the ground to the bottom of the black trim and not the fender itself.

Congrats on the car. I can't help on the springs as I don't have personal experiences with some of them. Some of the nicer riding ones that gives about 1.5" - 1.7" are the Espelir and the Daizens. I had L-Tuned which gives a little over 1". I only had 18s when I had the L-Tuned but I know people with the L-Tuned shocks/springs on 20s and they won't give you the look you want. If you want the adjustability to try different looks, coilovers are the way to go. Since you are going that low, make sure you get the right offset with the wheels to minimize rubbing. You will get some rub as it is the nature of 20s but with the wrong offsets, you are asking for a load of trouble. :) Good luck.

LOL. I got the email to and was scratching my head. I guess they finally publicize the CBEST settings under this LPS name. Most of us who posts on Lexus forums probably already know about the settings but I would assume not many of the general Lexus owners does.

How Do You Change The Sidemarker Light On A 98 Gs?
Neo replied to kino1161's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
There are no rear side markers on a 98 GS, unless we are talking about different things. As for the fronts, you can either go through the wheel well (by going under the wheel well plastic cover) or by taking off the fog lights and going through that hole. -
225/45r18's A Crazy Idea On A Gs3?
Neo replied to mitymouse's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
definately go with 245/45/18 for the GS. ← Actually 245/40 would be closer to spec. 245/45 would be about 1" too big. -
Wow, that is rare indeed. I've never even heard of a GS (US) with those two options.
-
Lots of good stuff here: http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/ Good luck with the project.

Those sizes should fit, especially if you are rolling the fenders and will be pretty flushed. I would stay with 245s in the front. I've heard of rubbing issues with 255s, especially with offsets in your range. Any reason why you are tunning 275/35 rears? This will make the rear outside diameter larger than the front (assuming you are going with 245/35). To keep them the same, you would be running 275/30 in the rear.

Gs430 0-60 Performance Not To Spec
Neo replied to cpr_carpenter's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Dude I have only one thing to say. SRT intake and PC upgrade, and hold on! ← Just wondering, PC? -

This is the note right on top of the Classifieds forum: I am not sure, however, exactly how many posts it will take for your status to change.

The TRD won't fit on a GS3. You might be able to get it to clear the engince with spacers but you will hit the hood. The RMM is the best bet for the GS3. The UGO fits well too but it has been discontinued. I believe the RVM one fits but I don't have first hand info on this, in terms of fitment and quality. As for where to buy, try http://www.l-tunedparts.com

The 98-00 Nave were actually HD based. :)

Are you planning on modifying the fender? It will be difficult to be fully "flushed" without clearing some room. How low you are dropped will also be a factor. The 255 in the front with x9 rims is going to rub. I am assuming you are also running 35 series front and back on purpose. In any case, I think offsets of+38 front and maybe +40 rear will give you a nice flush look but you will need to modify the fenders.

Thank you. In 2001 was this in both the 400/430 or 430 only ← If you buy a 2001 model, it is a 430. There was no 400 as a 2001. :)

98 GS300s do NOT have DRLs. Yours would be the first I've heard of. Do you mean you turn on the car and the high beam bulbs are on (at 50%)? ← unless it is canadian ← :D I did not know that about the canadian version. So does the original poster have a canadian car? His location said mass which I assumed to be massachusett.

I think you are better off with the 34 size (34, 34R, 34/78). http://www.batteries.com/products/Vehicle_...ng_Battery.html It is a little bigger (and yet still smaller than OEM). you will have to play with the install a little to get it to fit. Among other things, the Optima is shorter than OEM so you will have a little problem using the OEM tie down. As for 34 or 34R, I don't think it matters. The 34 will have the terminals near the back of the car like the OEM while the 34R will have the terminals closer to the front of the car.
-
Just curious. Are you looking to buy specifically the 1st gen GS3? I am only asking since you had a question on age. I've seen 98 GS3s going for near that price point.
-
Agreed. I originally thought it was an expensive toy, but I like toys. I needed to convince the wife to get it. Actually it was for her car. She went to the dealership, tried it out, and never looked back. She still thinks it is useful even though we do not use it often. I am putting a Nav sytem into my car, which did not come with it. But this is my car and my toy. ;) Disclaimer: My wife's car is an Acura MDX so the Nav system is different so I cannot speak about the content of the Lexus Nav. BTW, on the MDX there is the initial "Agree" screen but I'm used to it and if it does not bother the wife, it does not bother me. :) You can program the addresses while moving on the MDX though. This works out great when we need to change course on the fly or if we need to get going and don't want to preplan the trip. The wife enters the info of course while I am driving. :D
