What You Think Of That Clear Sidemarker
Neo replied to gotdubz's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
The side markers are held on by 2 10mm bolts. Once you get the fogs out, you can use a socket wrench to remove the bolts. This may be a problem only if you have huge hands. ;) You may also have a harder time on the right side because the washer fluid reservoir is somewhat in the way. Although similar in quality, there are 2 styles. One has clear glass and you can see the bulb. The other has a plastic with a pattern similar to the OEM amber plastic. -
Sorry to hear. It is hit and miss but it does not hurt to try. Jsut don't expect the process to be real speedy. You should go back out and take pics of the pothole and the surrounding area with the pothole in the pic to prove that the pothole exists. The more proof you have the better. Good luck.

Most definitely yes. -
How Do You Know What Stereo In 98 Gs
Neo replied to AtlastGS's topic in Audio / Video / Electronics Forums
Those are very clean - certainly looks... OEM - or very OEM style. Can I ask this, what are the benifits of using this Pioneer units- will the entire factory system work iwth it? The changer, sub and amp? Thank you! ← No, the factory parts won't work. You can try to reuse the amp and speakers. I am not sure how optimal this will sound. The changer won't work. The two systems I posted were gutted and all the components were replaced from the HU/brain to the speakers to amps. -
I'd look here first to see what you might want: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2332 Then contact Carson Toyota: http://www/l-tunedparts.com They can get kits that are not listed on the site too.

Will 275/35/20 In The Rear Of 00 Gs3 Cause Prob.
Neo replied to blackgs3's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
With 19s, you will be fine with either 35 or 30. I assume you will be running the 40 series in the front if you want 35 in the rear? There may be some rubbing in the front as the 40f/35r sidewall combo are 1" over spec. This rubbing is what many owners with 20s have to live with. It comes when you are doing full lock turns, reverses, and wheel well liner rubs on dips. -
There are several but a popular one is the TTE. Contact either Carson or Sewell. A number of them are available. Roof = Junction Produce, DSR, Tom's Racing, L-Sportline, and a bunch of more less known/hard to get ones. Trunk-L-Sportline, Veilside, DSR, Junction Produce, Win Racing, and the list goes on. You'll probably have to find pics and narrow down what style you want. If you meant Xenon as in HID, then see my post above. You can try this: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158006 Or I have an aftermarket one for sale: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=19436 I don't recall OEM ones so yes afermarket. WeatherTech seems to make decent all weather ones. eBay is where most people get them. Same quality (somewhat bad) but people just accept it since they are relatively inexpensive (< $20). Junction Produce makes ones for the 01+ and 98-00 styles. Kazz makes one for the 01+ style. The 01+ ones go for about $1300. The 98-00 ones are less but you can actually DIY the 98-00 ones where as you cannot with the 01+ ones. For DIY, see here: http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/ Good luck with the modding addiction. ;)

As for the rest of your questions. It will say Nakamichi if you have it. See my previous post. Too many choices to list. Start by contacting Derrick at D2-Autosport. He has helped me in the past. http://www.d2autosport.com/main.html L-Tuned. See my previous post about Sewell. http://www.lexus-parts.com/

If you want to do it, go for it. You have 4 lighting options: 1. Xenon "bulbs" 2. Full HID kits into your halogen housings. 3. OEM HIDs (housings, ballasts, and bulbs) - not PnP but just a few wires to splice. 4. Retrofit HID projectors into the OEM housings. You want to get the ones from the Toyta Aristo. This is just the japanese version of the GS (with some engine option differences) so the grilles and badges will just fit. Contact Carson Toyota: http://www.l-tunedparts.com The division was called L-Tuned. Your best bet is to contact Sewell Lexus as they were clearing out the L-Tuned parts for TRD. The availability of many parts are gone or dwindling, so I'd get to them sooner vs later. They had a gread deal on the L-Tuned shocks and springs which would work out great for your requested 1" drop.

Sorry I Didn't Read The Rules First
Neo replied to laszlo70's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
It might help also if you posted a price. :) -
You should be able to get all these things at Carson Toyota: http://www.l-tunedparts.com Except for the cluster cover, you are looking at parts from a 02 Sportdesign GS. The black chrome headlights only came on the 02 SD GS300. The 03 SD GS300 came with titanium colored housings. Some 99 GS housings were darker chrome but since I have not seen them side by side, I am not sure it there is a difference with these and the SD ones. The blackwood could get expensive to replace. The other option is to have your current wood pieces treated to look like the blackwood.

How Many Miles Do You Get On A Set Of Tires?
Neo replied to rrr's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
This would be the case if you have lower profile performance tires. The performance tires have a softer compound so you have more dry weather grip. It is great for summer handling but bad for tire life. On the 2nd Gen GS, you had the option of 16s and 17s. On the 17s, you'd have this warning since you running a more performance type setup. Now that the new GS has 17s and 18s, the same warnings would naturally be the same. -
Yes this will help. When working with the car, I always expect some mess. I usually save large boxes that I get stuff shipped to me or from things I buy. Instead of recycling them, I keep a few to use for oil changes. They are thicker than newspaper. ;) When the filter comes out, it will start and end dripping in different places so there will be some residual oil here and there. At the end of the work and with the cardboard still in place, I spray the surrounding area with brake cleaner. This usually drips off a lot of the oil/grease onto the cardboard. I then wipe down the area with paper towels and one last spray. Throw away the cardboard and you are done. As long as you wipe down any area that may have "standing" oil from the drip, the underside should be cleaner after the oil change than before. ;) No drips. I can't trust many oil change places to be as diligent. If you have a trusted tech that will take care of the car, that is different. BTW, I don't have an ES but have done this with success on all the cars I've changed oil on.

I prefer the TTE lip that is on my car. The Greddy Gracer lip is pretty aggressive and you can easily get into scraping trouble. Carson Toyota would have the TTE but unless they happen to have some in stock, it has to come from Europe and may take a few weeks.

The original L-Tuned wheels were staggered with 18x8 +45 fronts and 18x9.5 +45 rears. The L-Tuned parts are discontinued and these rears are some leftovers that are being cleared out. The 9.5 is too wide to fit in front without some work done. It will bolt on but it will rub. I have seen a few put on 9.5 in front but it involved fender work, some negative camber, and even smaller tires to stretch the rubber to avoid rubbing. IMO, getting 4 of these won't look good. Unless you run spacers in the rear and do similar modifications, the front will look very aggressive while the rear is tame in comparison.

275s on a 19x9 +38 will fit fine. I have 275s on 20x10 +38 and I had to shave a bit off the fender. You will be a little more than 1cm inset from my spec and that should clear the fender just fine. -
Try calling Carson Toyota as suggested above. You can get the contact info from the website: http://www.l-tunedparts.com I've bought the cabin filter from Carson before so I know they can get it. :)

There is no need to worry about HID bulbs unless you mean the HID-like bulbs. ;) The highs are not HID so it would still be a halogen bulb. As far as it being white in low-voltage conditions, I have not seen one. I am not claiming it does not exist but I have not seen anyone who has reported a good result.

1. I don't use a bulb replacement so I cannot personally vouch for them but the Sylvania Silverstars seem to be popular. Here is a recent thread on lighting that mentions them: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=18781&hl= I am sure you can search and find more info/feedback about them. 2. Unless you like the chrome trunk bar cover that is sold on eBay, get the real full replacement trunk bar. It is $105. This replacement is not a stick on. You'd have to take the current bar off and put this one on. It is a little work but nothing too hard. You'd have no paint issues since there is no peeling off. http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=49 Although it is hard to tell from the pic, remember that this is a full replacement and not a stick on.

275s are relatively safe. You can actually go wider but it all depends on your rim spec, including if 275 is OK. Offset and width would be useful info to determine fitment. -
Other than the used market or knock offs, it may be hard to find a full replacement aftermarket bumper for $600. Forget JDM from Japan. Those bumpers are usually $800 and up. Plus, in order to get the bumper here in a timely fashion, you are looking at $500-$600 just to airship it to the US. You are also going to have to rule out lips since you don't have a front bumper anymore. I guess you can get a used OEM bumper and buy a lip. If you can get an OEM bumper for $300-$400 (or less), you can meet the $600 budget. Which lip is available depends on your final price for the OEM bumper. Back to the bumper. Off the top of my head, you have the L-Sportline and the RMM, both made in the US and both polyurethane (PU) which is pretty durable. The bad thing is availability. RMM has gotten out of the GS aftermarket so I don't know the availability of their stock. L-Sportline is discontinued but they were bought out by another company. I believe production is starting up on this kit again, but it just won't be marketed under the L-Sportline name. Both these bumpers will be above the $600 price new. I don't usually advocate knock offs but if you had to do so, I heard that the Explosion-style kit is acceptable and fits OK. It is fiberglass so it is not as durable as PU. The shop may have to tweak it a little to get it to fit so the labor cost may be higher. Anyway, that is my quickie overview of your situation. Maybe someone else has other options for you. Good luck.

There is a certain level of tolerance in the speedo/odo/... already. Lexus does not tune the car to the different available wheel sizes so they are already expecting some variance. Like the deadmilenko already mentioned, this variance is about 1% which translates to less than 1mph on the speedo. Just do it. :D
